The article deals with the ban on public consumption of cannabis at the Hessentag. The Administrative Court of Kassel has ruled that a general order prohibiting cannabis consumption at public events is lawful. The court justifies this by stating that a violation of the consumption ban under the Cannabis Consumption Act is imminent and that the protection of children and adolescents from the consequences of cannabis consumption is an objective of the legislator. The applicant argues that the ban violates the Basic Law and the principle of equal treatment, but the court decides that the general order is justified in order to achieve the goal of health and youth protection. It is determined that cannabis, alcohol, and nicotine are not comparable and can therefore be treated differently. [Extracted from the article]
