Abstract

A recent study conducted at the Dmitry Rogachev National Medical Research Center for Pediatric Hematology in Moscow, Russia, explored the prognostic value of baseline and interim [18F]FDG PET metabolic parameters in pediatric Hodgkin's lymphoma (HL). The study included 115 pediatric patients diagnosed with HL between 2016 and 2023. The researchers found that baseline and interim [18F]FDG PET parameters, such as SUVmax, metabolic tumor volume (MTV), and total lesion glycolysis (TLG), were significantly associated with worse event-free survival (EFS) and correlated with post-treatment Deauville scores. These findings suggest that [18F]FDG PET parameters can serve as significant prognostic indicators for EFS and treatment response in pediatric HL, potentially enhancing individualized, risk-adapted treatment strategies for children and adolescents with the disease.
