Patterned glass diffusers (PGDs) have been demonstrated to reduce backlight thickness and LED count, and increase luminance when used with an optimal film stack in blue mini‐LED backlights. However, they encounter challenges when used in automotive white LED backlights. We report our PGD solution to dimensionally and thermally stable automotive white LED backlight that has an LED pitch of 13 mm.

We report our progress on monitor‐sized, dimensionally and thermally stable mini‐LED backlights enabled by a patterned glass diffuser (PGD). One PGD based backlight, while being thinner, shows a higher luminance than a reference mini‐LED backlight. Another all‐in‐one PGD enhances a glass circuit board based mini‐LED backlight.

For over 15 years, Corning Eagle XG™ Glass has been a mainstream display substrate in the industry. Recently, it is also used as a back‐lighting unit (BLU) component, a Glass Diffuser Plate (GDP), to enable “Zero‐Border” Design (ZBD) LCD TV. In this article, we first review requirements of BLU of ZBD TV, and contrasts Eagle XG™ against a polymeric and other glass materials to demonstrate the benefit of its use. We also discuss the origin of edge light leakage, a bright line artifact, seen in ZBD TV. Through our simulation, we demonstrate that Corning's precise cutting tolerance (± 0.1 mm) and bottom cut edge finishing of GDP leads to light leakage reduction (~40%). In addition, we investigated the impact of GDP size control and thickness, and GDP‐optical film lamination geometry on the edge light leakage.

We report our progress on a monitor‐sized, dimensionally and thermally stable mini‐LED backlight enabled by a patterned glass diffuser (PGD). Our backlight uses 5,000+ fewer mini‐LEDs per monitor — 4/9 times that in a reference mini‐LED backlight relying on a thicker diffuser plate, while it is thinner and achieves similar uniformity and luminance compared to the reference mini‐LED backlight.

We report on the design and performance of a direct‐lit LCD backlight prototype which is only 5 mm thick and capable of full array 2D local dimming. Equipped with a 15.6” LC display panel, the prototype reaches peak brightness of 2000 nits. The measured contrast numbers meet VESA DisplayHDR 600 specification.

We report on a monitor‐sized, thin, dimensionally and thermally stable mini‐LED backlight enabled by a patterned glass diffuser (PGD). Our backlight has a luminance of between 0.9 × and 1.05 × compared to a reference mini‐LED backlight using a thick diffuser plate, while providing a better local dimming control and comparable zone and panel luminance uniformity and color uniformity. The PGD technology can reduce the number of LEDs.

Background and Objectives: Methyl 3,4-dihydroxybenzoate (MDHB) has the potential to prevent neurodegenerative diseases (NDDs). The present work investigated its excretion, metabolism, and cytochrome P450-based drug–drug interactions (DDIs). Methods: After intragastric administration of MDHB, the parent drug was assayed in the urine and faeces of mice. Metabolites of MDHB in the urine, faeces, brain, plasma and liver were detected by liquid chromatography–hybrid quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (LC–QTOF/MS). A cocktail approach was used to evaluate the inhibition of cytochrome P450 isoforms by MDHB. Results: The cumulative excretion permille of MDHB in the urine and faeces were found to be 0.67 ± 0.31 and 0.49 ± 0.44‰, respectively. A total of 96 metabolites of MDHB were identified, and all IC50(half-maximal inhibitory concentration) values of MDHB towards cytochrome P450 isoforms were > 100 μM. Conclusions: The results suggest that MDHB has a low parent drug cumulative excretion percentage and that MDHB has multiple metabolites and is mainly metabolized through the loss of –CH2and –CO2, the loss of –CH2O, ester bond hydrolysis, the loss of –O and –CO2, isomerization, methylation, sulfate conjugation, the loss of –CH2O and –O and glycine conjugation, glycine conjugation, the loss of two –O groups and alanine conjugation, the loss of –CH2O and –O and glucose conjugation, glucuronidation, glucose conjugation, etc., in vivo. Finally, MDHB has a low probability of cytochrome P450-based DDIs.

We report on a backlight that can be bent to a radius of 200 mm and provides more than 2000 nits through a 7” display. The backlight is enabled by a glass light guide plate that edge‐couples light from high brightness thin LEDs. It is also capable of 2D local dimming.

Methyl 3,4-dihydroxybenzoate (MDHB) has the potential to prevent neurodegenerative diseases (NDDs). The present work aims to reveal the pharmacokinetics and tissue distribution characteristics of MDHB. The pharmacokinetics and tissue distribution of MDHB were analyzed using LC-MS/MS after a single intragastric administration (50 to 450 mg/kg) in mice, and samples were collected from five animals at specific time points. Pharmacokinetic parameters of MDHB following intragastric administrations were: the time to peak concentration (Tmax) ranged from 0.033 to 0.07 h, the peak concentration (Cmax) ranged from 12,379.158 to 109798.712 μg/l, the elimination half-life (t1/2z) ranged from 0.153 to 1.291 h, the area under the curve (AUC0–∞) ranged from 640.654 to 20,241.081 μg/l × h, the mean residence time (MRT0–∞) ranged from 0.071 to 0.206 h, the apparent volume of distribution (Vz/F) ranged from 17.538 to 45.244 l/kg, and the systemic clearance (Clz/F) ranged from 22.541 to 80.807 l/h/kg. The oral bioavailability of MDHB was 23%. The maximum MDHB content was detected in the stomach, and the minimum content was observed in the testes; the peak content in the brain was 15,666.93 ng/g. The pharmacokinetic characteristics of MDHB include fast absorption, high systemic clearance, a short half-life and an oral bioavailability of 23%. Additionally, MDHB permeates the blood-brain barrier (BBB) and is rapidly distributed to all organs. The identification of the pharmacokinetics of MDHB following its oral administration will contribute to further preclinical and clinical studies of its effects.

We report on an ultra‐thin 2D local dimming backlight, as thin as an edge‐lit backlight, yet as capable of 2D local dimming as a direct‐lit backlight. It includes a patterned holey glass light guide plate (LGP) and a patterned reflector. Light from LEDs, located in holes, is edge‐coupled into the LGP.

strontium carbonate nanopowder materials were synthesized using Sr(OH)2 and Na2CO3 or CO2 as starting materials in the water by ultrasonic irradiation at 3h,and adding suitable amount of EDTA morphology agent.samples were characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) through separating strontium oxide solution slurry through by centrifuge , washing strontium carbonate slurry by ethanol.XRD and SEM showed that These products were found to be orthorhombic and spherical nanometer strontium carbonate and to be explained the growth mechanism of nano strontium carbonate powder.

According to the practical condition of 3401 fully mechanized caving face in Dayang coal mine, the relationship between strata behaviors, mining technology and stope gas emission are analyzed through real-time monitoring of the support working resistance, advance abutment pressure and gas concentration of working face. It shows that the change of working face abutment pressure has an obvious effect on the regularity of coal face gas emission. The crest value of gas emission falls behind periodic weighting, the lagging time is about one day. Other factors, like coal production processes, daily coal output and advance speed also have close relationships with gas emission.

A new synthetic technology of Strontium carbonate with high gravity is introduced in this paper. We got ultrafine SrCO3 powders with Sr(NO3)2 and NaCO3 or CO2 as raw material by high gravity method. We studied flows, the rotating speed, additives and CO2 as the reactants on the morphology of strontium carbonate. The results show that the presence of additive-free, we got rod-like structure of strontium carbonate. Added EDTA, we got a good dispersion of spherical particles of narrow particle size distribution. The presence of EDTA, the average particle size of spherical particles decreases with the speed increases. CO2 alternative Na2CO3 as the reactants, the presence of additive-free, we got the bundle structure of strontium carbonate. The presence of EDTA, we got spherical particles, but the particle dispersion is not well, gathered together.

Xen’s VBD (virtual-block-device) driver is proved to be an efficient solution for block device virtualization, which can achieve nearly 90% performance of bare mode. However, long call path, heavy involvement of hypervisor and redundant context-switches are still obstacles preventing current frontend-backend virtual disk driver from reaching a more efficient level. In this paper we proposed a cache-based method to improve the performance of Xen’s VBD driver. By implementing a cache which buffers recent frontend disk requests, guest is given the opportunity to complete read virtual disk independently without any involvement of Dom0 and XEN hypervisor. Result shows that our cache can brings great improvement of performance to Xen’s VBD driver.

A new synthetic technology of Strontium carbonate with ultrasonic is introduced in this article. Ultrasonic wave synthetic technology is a fast and novel method. Spherical SrCO3 powders were synthesized by changing the solvent and reaction conditions using the ultrasonic wave method. The SrCO3 powders were characterized by the XRD and SEM.The results show that the asprepared products were Spherical structure and with high dispersity, the average particle size of the SrCO3 powders synthesized by the ultrasonic wave synthetic technology is 0.3nm~ 0.5nm. Some reaction parameters were investigated during the process.

Evaluation and optimization of coalbed methane favorable blocks is a very important basic work in the process of coalbed methane exploration and development, and the study results directly decide the success or failure of coalbed methane development. Firstly the thesis took Jiaozuo mining area as an example and set up an evaluation index system on favorable block of coal-bed methane development based on fuzzy mathematics theory, secondly a quantitative and comprehensive evaluation program were proposed, and made a comprehensive evaluation of coalbed methane favorable blocks of Jiaozuo mining area lastly. Evaluation results direct that the exploration and development of coalbed methane in Jiaozuo mining area are better and also have some reference value for the evaluation of favorable blocks in other similar areas.

Because the metallic hafnium has good combination properties, that makes it the preferred material for control rods of nuclear reactors. To prevent the irradiation deformation and the mechanical property decrease of hafnium plates, and to increase the service life of the control rods, a new type of square-tube control rod is developed. The elemental composition, mechanical property, the corrosion resistance and the physical characteristics of hafnium are researched. Several tests are carried out after the product manufactured, which prove that the design and manufacture of the control rod meet the requirement of the technical conditions.

Metallic hafnium has good comprehensive performance that makes it the preferred material for control rods of nuclear reactors. The elemental composition, mechanical properties, the corrosion resistance and the physical characteristics of hafnium plate are researched during the development of control rod for reactors. It proved the manufacturing method of hafnium plate is appropriate, characteristic of materials meet the requirement of a control rod.

Glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) bars were exposed to the solutions of different alkaline and chloride salt concentrations in order to examine the influence of different corrosion environment on the compression performance of GFRP bars. The results showed that the stress strain curves of the GFRP bars could be expressed as lines approximately. The compressive strength and elastic modulus gradually decreased with increasing of the corrosion time, and the decrease was more obvious in alkaline corrosion environment.

An equivalence is found between the BEG model and an Ising model with cross and four-spin interaction on square lattice under a well-known restriction .

We study Ising model on Sierpinski carpets by using mean field theory. We find a phase transition at which is dependent on the geometrical factors. The critical exponents are calculated and found to be the same as the values for translationally invariant lattices.

We have found that ionic effects play an important role in driving cholesteric liquid crystal displays. The ions change the effective electric field inside the liquid crystal and help to create nucleation seeds for transitions. These effects reduce the driving voltages by about 10%, make the response of the liquid crystal faster, and result in a higher contrast ratio.

A simple and efficient method for the synthesis of the title compounds (III) and (V) is developed.

Einstein's weak equivalence principle (WEP) states that any freely falling, uncharged test particle follows the same identical trajectory independent of its internal structure and composition. Since the polarization of a photon is considered to be part of its internal structure, we propose that polarized photons from astrophysical transients, such as gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) and fast radio bursts (FRBs), can be used to constrain the accuracy of the WEP through the Shapiro time delay effect. Assuming that the arrival time delays of photons with different polarizations are mainly attributed to the gravitational potential of the Laniakea supercluster of galaxies, we show that a strict upper limit on the differences of the parametrized post-Newtonian parameter γ value for the polarized optical emission of GRB 120308A is Δγ < 1.2 × 10-10, for the polarized gamma-ray emission of GRB 100826A is Δγ < 1.2 × 10-10, and for the polarized radio emission of FRB 150807 is Δγ < 2.2 × 10-16. These are the first direct verifications of the WEP for multiband photons with different polarizations. In particular, the result from FRB 150807 provides the most stringent limit to date on a deviation from the WEP, improving by one order of magnitude the previous best result based on Crab pulsar photons with different energies.
