Abstract

Reaction of the diiron‐μ‐alkylidene complex (I) with (Ph3C)PF6leads to cleavage of the Fe‐Fe bond and formation of the binuclear η4‐butadienyl complex (IIa) by abstraction of a β‐hydride and rearrangement of an intermediate μ‐butadienyl complex.
