The performance of asphalt mixtures greatly influences the long-term performance of bridge deck pavements. It is essential to optimise the asphalt mixtures with the best overall performance according to different regional conditions for use in engineering practice. This study proposes a comprehensive assessment method based on the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation (FCE) to evaluate the serviceability of asphalt mixtures from different perspectives. It is used to optimise the best asphalt mixtures. The results show that the skeleton-dense structure asphalt mixture has better engineering applicability than the suspension-dense structure asphalt mixture, and the comprehensive performance of the asphalt mixture decreases with the increase of the nominal maximum particle size. The FCE determines that the total performance of the seven types of asphalt mixtures in the order of their superiority and inferiority are SMA-13 >asphalt mastic sand (AMS)>SMA-10 >AC-25 >AC-13 >AC-16 >AC-20. The study combines qualitative and quantitative factors, which makes the selection of engineering materials more scientific and rigorous and improves the rationality of material suitability evaluation.

This comprehensive review summarizes and describes the research on selenium over the past few decades, affirming some conclusions about selenium and pointing out the blank areas that require further study. Chapter One describes the properties and applications of selenium, its environmental migration, biochemistry, emission source data, and control policies. Chapter two describes the presence and content of selenium in coal, and summarizes and analyzes the current methods for detecting and quantifying selenium in coal. The advantages and disadvantages of different methods are outlined, aiming to provide support for exploring more effective selenium detection methods. Chapter three describes the transformation of selenium during coal combustion and the conditions affecting selenium release, pointing out that temperature determines the final form of selenium, while the atmosphere determines whether selenium is in an oxidized or reduced state, and other conditions mainly affect the release rate of selenium. One of the purposes of this review is to further reveal the fate of selenium in coal-fired power plants and investigate the treatment of selenium in post-combustion products. Chapter four analyzes the sampling and detection methods of selenium, pointing out the advantages and disadvantages of traditional methods. It also summarizes the distribution of selenium in these power plants and evaluates the selenium removal efficiency of air pollution control devices (APCDs). Chapter five analyzes the existing control methods for selenium before, during, and after coal combustion in power plants. Through data statistics and comparison, it integrates the advantages and disadvantages in terms of efficiency, cost, and feasibility.

Soil water content is a critical environmental parameter in research and practice, though various technological and contextual constraints limit its estimation in arid areas with vegetation cover. This study combined the multitemporal remote sensing data of Sentinel-1 and Landsat 8 to conduct an inversion study on surface soil water content under low vegetation cover in Nagqu, central Tibetan Plateau. Four vegetation indices (NDVI, ARVI, EVI, and RVI) were extracted from optical remote sensing data. A water cloud model was used to eliminate the influence of the vegetation layer on the backscattering coefficient associated with vegetation cover, and a predictive model suitable for the Nagqu area was constructed. The water cloud model effectively incorporated a vegetation index instead of vegetation water content. We found that VV polarization was more suitable for soil water content inversion than VH polarization. Among the four vegetation indices, the soil water content inversion model constructed with RVI under VV polarization had the best fit (R2 = 0.8212; RMSE = 6.30). The second-best fit was observed for vegetation water content-NDVI (R2 = 0.8201). The soil water content inversion models all had an R2 > 0.6, regardless of the vegetation index used, though the RVI had the best fitting effect, indicating that this vegetation index is highly applicable in the water cloud model, as a substitute for vegetation water content, and is expected to perform well in similar study sites.

When DC ground electrode of a high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission system is in the stage of early operation or in the case of failures and maintenance, an instantaneous large current will be generated and bring great potential safety hazards to the nearby buried oil/gas pipelines and facilities and operators. In order to ensure the safety of persons near the buried pipelines, we investigated the current interference of the HVDC ground electrode to buried pipelines and its personal safety distance (hereinafter referred to as a safety distance). Firstly, the model simulating the electromagnetic interference to buried pipelines was established by means of the numerical simulation technology. Then, the model was used to calculate the safety distance corresponding to eddy current interference of HVDC ground electrode to buried pipelines under different soil resistivities, pipeline lengths, pipeline anti-corrosion insulations, earth currents of ground electrode and pipeline sizes. Finally, the influence laws of above-mentioned factors on the interference degree of HVDC ground electrode were analyzed. And the following research results were obtained. First, the influence of pipeline length on the interference degree of interference of the HVDC ground electrode is great. The longer the pipeline, the greater the safety distance. When the pipeline is equal to or longer than 600 km, however, the safety distance is basically the same. Second, the effect of pipeline coating on the interference degree of HVDC ground electrode is great. As the coating surface resistivity increases, the safety distance increases gradually. Third, for multi-layer soil structures, the maximum single-layer resistivity can be taken as the overall resistivity. And correspondingly, the calculated safety distance obtained is the longest, and the evaluation result is more conservative. In conclusion, the safety distance diagrams of the pipelines with 4 lengths which are obtained based on the calculation results can be used as reference in the design of HVDC ground electrodes and pipelines, as well as the basis for selecting the safety distance of HVDC ground electrode or buried pipeline to be constructed.

AbstractInSAR technology provides a powerful tool for detecting large-scale surface deformation. In particular, the newly developed DS-InSAR method fused PS points has obvious advantages in monitoring bare land and vegetation covered areas, but at present, there is a lack of effectiveness evaluation of this method. Therefore, this paper takes Hongta District of Yuxi City as an example. The 29 scenes sentinel-1A data from January 2019 to December 2019 were processed and analyzed using the DS-InSAR method fused PS points. The research results show that the position and deformation trend of the inversion results of the three methods are highly consistent, the correlation between DS-InSAR method fused PS points and PS- InSAR and SBAS-InSAR methods is 0.9473 and 0.8583, respectively. But the spatial density of the measurement points (MPs) obtained by the DS-InSAR method of PS points is 11 times and 4 times that of the PS-InSAR method and SBAS-InSAR method respectively. It clearly shows that DS-InSAR method fused PS points has greater advantages than PS-InSAR and SBAS-InSAR methods in deformation mapping displacement, because the MPs density is higher. It is conducive to the detailed analysis of the spatio-temporal characteristics and deformation mechanism of deformation.
