This article presents an ${X}$ -band single-chip fully integrated multifrequency difference frequency-shift keying (FSK) in-phase and quadrature (I/Q) direct-conversion radar transceiver implemented in a 130-nm CMOS process. Combined with the artificial intelligence (AI)-based algorithm, accurate gesture recognition is realized. The phase-locked loop (PLL)-based dual-frequency difference FSK waveform and ranging algorithm are proposed to solve the tradeoff between the maximum unambiguous range and the ranging accuracy. The loop bandwidth optimized integer- ${N}$ PLL is integrated to generate standard-compliant FSK signals with predictable frequency differences. The relationship between instantaneous ranging bias and PLL loop parameters is analyzed in detail. The proposed bias noise filter fully suppresses the flicker noise and improves the receiver noise figure (NF). The quadrature signal generator (QSG) adopts a fully differential amplifier buffered resistance compensation quadrature all-pass filter (QAF) to improve the I/Q balance and insertion loss. The chip consumes a current of 56 mA and provides a conversion gain (CG) of 22–102 dB. The single-ended transmit power is 1.5 dBm. To the best of our knowledge, the implemented transceiver is the first recorded ${X}$ -band FSK radar transceiver and provides a low-cost solution for indoor human detection.

Objective To describe standard and modified de-epithelialized Byars’ flap techniques in tubularized incised plate urethroplasty and evaluate postoperative outcomes.Methods We retrospectively evaluated data for 404 primary hypospadias repair patients who underwent standard (Group A) or modified (Group B) urethroplasty between January 2016 and 2021. Group B’s data were analyzed to evaluate whether our modified technique was effective for all hypospadias types.Results There was no difference in the ratio of different hypospadias types between Groups A (n = 145) and B (n = 259). Median follow-up duration was 35 months. Fistula occurred in 19 patients in Group A and 12 in Group B (statistically significant difference). The total complication rate was statistically significantly different between the groups. In Group B, 3/142 patients with distal hypospadias developed urethrocutaneous fistula vs 4/95 with mid-shaft hypospadias and 5/22 with proximal hypospadias. No difference was noted between the distal and mid-shaft groups. Significant differences were observed when comparing distal and mid-shaft groups with the proximal group; total complication rates were similar. Glans dehiscence and meatal stenosis rates were similar between Groups A and B, and among the hypospadias phenotypes.Conclusion Our modified procedure is simple to perform and yields excellent results in distal and mid-shaft hypospadias repair.

Mesenteric teratoma is a rare extragonadal teratoma. Gliomatosis peritonei (GP) is mature glial tissue implanted into the peritoneum's surface and is mainly accompanied by ovarian teratoma. Only a few cases of gliomatosis have occurred in the extraperitoneum. We present a rare case of a 3-year-old boy who presented with extratesticular GP after excision of an immature mesenteric teratoma at 2 months old. After the extratesticular mass was excised, we found ductile tissue on the surface of the terminal spermatic cord and epididymis. Some ductile tissue of the epididymis was removed and sent to a laboratory for a pathological examination. The mass and the ductile tissue of the epididymis had a hard consistency. The pathological diagnosis was extratesticular gliomatosis. Complete surgical resection of the teratoma and GP is helpful for identifying the presence of malignant lesions and for preventing malignant transformation. However, characteristics of GP lesions are extensive and they are difficult to completely remove. Moreover, GP is usually benign. Therefore, the residual GP tissue was not completely removed in our case. The child is still in good health, but requires lifelong follow-up. In conclusion, we report our experience of a rare case of extraperitoneal GP from an extragonadal teratoma.
