Tumor immune microenvironment (TIME) regulators are promising cancer immunotherapeutic targets. IGF2BP1, as a crucial N6-methyladenosine (m6A) reader protein, recognizes m6A target transcripts, ultimately leading to cancer development. However, currently, the biological function of IGF2BP1 in regulating the TIME is not well-understood. In this study, we report that IGF2BP1 knockdown induces cancer cell apoptosis, thereby significantly not only activating immune cell infiltration including CD4+, CD8+T cells, CD56+NK cells, and F4/80+macrophage but also decreasing PD-L1 expression in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Then, chemical genetics identifies a small-molecule cucurbitacin B (CuB), which directly targets IGF2BP1 at a unique site (Cys253) in the KH1–2 domains. This leads to a pharmacological allosteric effect to block IGF2BP1 recognition of m6A mRNA targets such as c-MYC, which is highly associated with cell apoptosis and immune response. In vivo, CuB exhibits an obvious anti-HCC effect through inducing apoptosis and subsequently recruits immune cells to tumor microenvironment as well as blocking PD-L1 expression. Collectively, IGF2BP1 may serve as a novel pharmacological allosteric target for anticancer therapeutics via mediating TIME.

Carbon quantum dots (CQDs) offer huge potential due to their enzymatic properties as compared to natural enzymes. Thus, discovery of CQDs-based nanozymes with low toxicity from natural resources, especially daily food, implies a promising direction for exploring treatment strategies for human diseases. Here, we report a CQDs-based biocompatible nanozyme prepared from chlorogenic acid (ChA), a major bioactive natural product from coffee. We found that ChA CQDs exhibited obvious GSH oxidase-like activities and subsequently promoted cancer cell ferroptosis by perturbation of GPX4-catalyzed lipid repair systems. In vivo, ChA CQDs dramatically suppressed the tumor growth in HepG2-tumor-bearing mice with negligible side toxicity. Particularly, in hepatoma H22-bearing mice, ChA CQDs recruited massive tumor-infiltrating immune cells including T cells, NK cells, and macrophages, thereby converting “cold” to “hot” tumors for activating systemic antitumor immune responses. Taken together, our study suggests that natural product-derived CQDs from coffee can serve as biologically safe nanozymes for anticancer therapeutics and may aid the development of nanotechnology-based immunotherapeutic.

Compliant Mechanisms (CMs) have presented its inherently advantageous properties due to the fact that the nature of CMs is about utilizing elastic deformation of elementary flexible members to transfer motion, force and energy. In the previous work of CM community, the classic Euler-Bernoulli beam theory is the most used theory in terms of modeling large beam deflections. However, it has some assumptions that may decrease the modeling accuracy, such as ignoring the shear deformation of cross sections and the axial elongation. In this paper, to take into account the shear influences and the axial elongation, we adopt Timoshenko beam theory along with some modifications to consider the axial elongation. To simplify the complexity of the proposed governing BVP, we transform the BVP into an explicit formulation and use weighted residual methods to numerically approximate the solution. We first focus on the single-beam deflection of a straight beam and an initially curved beam (ICB) using Euler Bernoulli beam theory, Timoshenko beam theory and solid mechanics to analyze the contributions of shear influences and axial elongation in beam deflections. Then, we have proved the feasibility of mechanism synthesis for a bi-stable mechanism and an ICB-based parallelogram mechanism using the proposed modeling strategy. Finally, the deduction of the mathematical model and the numerical results are provided along with brief analysis on the mechanical performances of the studied CMs.

There is an urgent requirement to acquire a comprehensive comprehension of novel therapeutic targets for prostate cancer to facilitate the development of medications with innovative mechanisms. In this study, we identified gambogic acid (GBA) as a specific pyroptosis inducer in prostatic cancer cells. By using a thermal proteome profiling (TPP) strategy, we revealed that GBA induces pyroptosis by directly targeting the canopy FGF signaling regulator (CNPY3), which was previously considered “undruggable”. Moreover, through the utilization of the APEX2-based proximity labeling method, we found that GBA recruited delactatease SIRT1, resulting in the elimination of lysine lactylation (Kla) on CNPY3. Of note, SIRT1-mediated delactylation influenced the cellular localization of CNPY3 to promote lysosome rupture for triggering pyroptosis. Taken together, our study identified CNPY3 as a distinctive cellular target for pyroptosis induction and its potential application in prostate cancer therapy.

Microglia-mediated neuroinflammation is a crucial risk factor for neurological disorders. Recently, dopamine receptors have been found to be involved in multiple immunopathological processes and considered as valuable therapeutic targets for inflammation-associated neurologic diseases. In this study we investigated the anti-neuroinflammation effect of isosibiricin, a natural coumarin compound isolated from medicinal plant Murraya exotica. We showed that isosibiricin (10−50 μM) dose-dependently inhibited lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced BV-2 microglia activation, evidenced by the decreased expression of inflammatory mediators, including nitrite oxide (NO), tumour necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-6 (IL-6), interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and interleukin-18 (IL-18). By using transcriptomics coupled with bioinformatics analysis, we revealed that isosibiricin treatment mainly affect dopamine receptor signalling pathway. We further demonstrated that isosibiricin upregulated the expression of dopamine D1/2 receptors in LPS-treated BV-2 cells, resulting in inhibitory effect on nucleotide binding domain-like receptor protein 3 (NLRP3)/caspase-1 inflammasome pathway. Treatment with dopamine D1/2 receptor antagonists SCH 23390 (1 μM) or sultopride (1 μM) could reverse the inhibitory effects of isosibiricin on NLRP3 expression as well as the cleavages of caspase-1 and IL-1β. Collectively, this study demonstrates a promising therapeutic strategy for neuroinflammation by targeting dopamine D1/2 receptors.

The traditional antibiotics have specific intracellular targets and disinfect in chemical ways, and the drug-resistance induced by the antibiotics has grown into an emerging threat. It is urgent to call for novel strategies and antibacterial materials to control this situation. Herein, we report a class of silver-decorated nanocomposite AgNPs@PCL-b-AMPs as potent nanoantibiotic, constructed by ring-opening polymerization of the monomers ε-caprolactone, Z-Lys-N-carboxyanhydrides (NCAs), and Phe-NCAs, then decorated with AgNPs, and characterized by SEM, TEM, and DLS. The biological assays revealed that the nanocomposite possessed strong antibacterial efficacy against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria including clinical isolated bacteria MRSA, VRE, P. aeruginosa, and K. pneumonia, exhibiting a MIC value range in 2–8 μg/mL. Importantly, the S. aureusand P. aeruginosatreated with the nanocomposite did not show drug-resistance even after 21 passages. Also, in vivo anti-infective assays showed that the nanocomposite was able to effectively kill bacteria in the infected viscera of mice. The study of the sterilization mechanism showed that the nanocomposite exhibited a multimodal antimicrobial mechanism, including irreversibly damaging the membrane structure, making the leakage of intracellular ions and subsequently inducing generation of the reactive oxygen species (ROS), ultimately sterilizing the bacteria. The nanocomposite exhibits effective broad-spectrum antibacterial properties and shows low toxicity to the mammalian cells/animal. Overall, the AgNPs@PCL-b-AMPs gained in this work show great potential as a highly promising antibacterial material for biomedical applications including drug-resistant bacterial infection.

Metallo-β-lactamase (MβL) ImiS contributes to the emergence of carbapenem resistance. A potent scaffold, meta-substituted benzenesulfonamide, was constructed and assayed against MβLs. The twenty-one obtained molecules specifically inhibited ImiS (IC50= 0.11–9.3 μM); 2gwas found to be the best inhibitor (IC50= 0.11 μM), and 1gand 2gexhibited partially mixed inhibition with Kiof 8.0 and 0.55 μM. The analysis of the structure–activity relationship revealed that the meta-substitutes improved the inhibitory activity of the inhibitors. Isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC) assays showed that 2greversibly inhibited ImiS. The benzenesulfonamides exhibited synergistic antibacterial effects against E. coliBL21 (DE3) cells with ImiS, resulting in a 2–4-fold reduction in the MIC of imipenem and meropenem. Also, mouse experiments showed that 2ghad synergistic efficacy with meropenem and significantly reduced the bacterial load in the spleen and liver after a single intraperitoneal dose. Tracing the ImiS in living E. colicells by RSat a super-resolution level (3D-SIM) showed that the target was initially associated on the surface of the cells, then there was a high density of uniform localization distributed in the cytosol of cells, and it finally accumulated in the formation of inclusion bodies at the cell poles. Docking studies suggested that the sulfonamide group acted as a zinc-binding group to coordinate with Zn(ii) and the residual amino acid within the CphA active center, tightly anchoring the inhibitor at the active site. This study provides a highly promising scaffold for the development of inhibitors of ImiS, even the B2 subclasses of MβLs.

The emergence of drug-resistant bacteria poses a serious threat to public health. The traditional antibiotics have specific intracellular targets and disinfect viachemical ways, which easily lead to the development of drug resistance, therefore, cationic peptides as promising antibiotic agents have attracted extensive attention due to their unique properties. Herein, we report a class of amphiphilic peptide-based pectinate polymers with primary amino groups. The polymers spontaneously self-assembled into the positively charged nanoparticles, which were evaluated and confirmed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and dynamic light scattering (DLS). Biological assays revealed that the nanoparticles showed broad-spectrum antibacterial efficacy against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, exhibiting a MIC of 16 μg mL−1against six clinical bacteria, namely, E. faecalis, S. aureus, MRSA, VRE, P. aeruginosa, and K. pneumonia, and three bacterial strains E. coliand E. coliproducing NDM-1 and ImiS, and showed a sterilization rate of 95.6% and 94.7% on S. aureusand E. coli, respectively. Importantly, the nanoparticles did not result in drug-resistance for both the normal and drug-resistant bacteria tested after 14 passages and showed low toxicity on the mouse fibroblast cells (L929). The fluorescence staining, electrical conductivity, SEM, and surface plasmon resonance (SPR) characterization suggested that the nanoparticles initially bound to the surface of the bacteria, then pierced into the membranes of the bacteria with their phenyl groups, and finally disrupted the membranes, resulting in ions leaking out and thus exhibiting broad-spectrum antibacterial efficacy. This bactericidal mechanism that the nanoparticles employed does not lead the bacteria susceptible to developing drug resistance. This study provides a promising pathway for the development of the efficient antibacterial materials.

Two new disesquiterpenoids (1and 2) and 11 new (3–13) and 10 known (14–23) sesquiterpenoids were isolated from the whole plants of Artemisia freyniana. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic data analysis and comparison with published NMR data. The absolute configurations of the new isolates (1–13) were assigned based on single-crystal X-ray diffraction data and comparison of the experimental and calculated ECD data. The eremophilane derivatives 8and 9possess an unprecedented 2-isopropyl-3,7,7a-trimethyl-2,4,5,6,7,7a-hexahydro-1H-indene scaffold, and a putative biosynthetic pathway for these compounds is proposed. Compounds 4, 5, and 9exhibited inhibitory effects against LPS-stimulated nitric oxide (NO) production in RAW 264.7 macrophage cells with IC50values of 10.8, 12.6, and 11.7 μM, respectively.

Three new prenylated phenylpropenols, exotiacetals A–C (1–3), 10 new coumarin derivatives, exotimarins A–I (4–13), and 35 known analogues (14–48) were isolated from the roots of Murraya exotica. The absolute configurations of the new compounds were assigned via comparison of their specific rotations, single-crystal X-ray diffraction data, Mosher’s method, the ECD exciton coupling method, comparison of experimental and calculated ECD data, and the ECD data of the in situformed transition metal complexes. Compounds 1–3, which possess an unprecedented hexahydro-1H-isochromen-1-ol system, are presumably biosynthesized from two prenylated p-coumaryl alcohol moieties via Diels–Alder [4+2] cycloaddition and cyclic hemiacetal formation reactions. Compounds 1, 28, 33, and 35demonstrated inhibition against LPS-induced NO production in BV-2 microglial cells with IC50values of 8.6 ± 0.3, 11.8 ± 0.9, 15.5 ± 0.9, and 16.9 ± 1.0 μM, respectively.

In this report, a new type of double-drive photoelastic modulation effect is studied. Two piezoelectric actuators are connected to a symmetric photoelastic crystal at an angle of 45°. The actuators and crystal have the same resonant frequency. By adjusting the amplitude and phase difference between the driving voltages of the two piezoelectric actuators, two special forms of photoelastic modulation can be realized, namely, a pure standing wave form and a pure traveling wave form. The retardation magnitude and the azimuth angle of the modulation fast axis can be regulated in the pure standing wave, and the modulation axis moves circumferentially in the pure traveling wave. We have experimentally observed the two special photoelastic modulation modes, and the test and calibration methods are also reported.

Twelve new dimeric sesquiterpenoids (1–12) were isolated from the dried whole plants of Artemisia rupestris. Their structures were determined using MS and NMR data, and the absolute configurations were elucidated on the basis of experimental and calculated ECD spectra. Compounds 1–9are presumably formed via biocatalyzed [2+2] or [4+2] cycloaddition reactions. Stereoselectivity of the [4+2] Diels–Alder reaction dictated the formation of endo-products. The dimeric sesquiterpenoids exhibited moderate inhibition on NO production stimulated by lipopolysaccharide in BV-2 microglial cells, with IC50values in the range 17.0–71.8 μM.

Two new structurally unique trimeric carbazole alkaloids, murratrines A and B (1, 2), and 11 new carbazole dimers, murradines A–K (3–13), and four known analogues (14–17) were isolated from the leaves and stems of Murraya tetramera. The structures and relative configurations of 1–13were elucidated on the basis of comprehensive 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopy, high-resolution mass spectrometry, and electronic circular dichroism (ECD) data analysis. Murratrines A and B (1, 2) both contain an unprecedented carbazole trimeric skeleton, and murradines A and D (3, 6) are the first natural C-1–C-3′-methyl-linked and C-6–C-3′-methyl-linked dimeric carbazole alkaloids, respectively. Compounds 4, 10, 14, 15, and 17exhibited inhibition of nitric oxide production stimulated by lipopolysaccharide in BV-2 microglial cells with IC50values in the range of 11.2–19.3 μM.

The bulbs of plants belonging to the Fritillaria cirrhosa-group have been used as antitussive and expectorant herbs in traditional Chinese medicine for thousands of years. In this study, we isolated two isomers of verticinone and imperialine, steroidal alkaloids belonging to the cevanine group, from bulbs of Fritillaria wabuensis, which is a part of the Fritillaria cirrhosa group, and investigated their anti-inflammatory effects and relative mechanisms on lipopolysaccharide-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages. Our results clearly demonstrate that verticinone or imperialine could dose-dependently inhibit nitric oxide production and also suppress inducible nitric oxide synthase and cyclooxygenase-2 expressions. In addition, verticinone or imperialine suppress the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines in a dose dependent manner, such as tumor necrosis factor-α and interleukin-1β. The effect of verticinone and imperialine on the activation of nuclear factor-kappaB was also evaluated. The phosphorylation of nuclear factor-kappaB stimulated with LPS is also down-regulated by verticinone or imperialine in a concentration dependent manner, which coincided with the inhibition of phosphorylation forms of inhibitory kappaB-α, a crucial inhibitory factor of nuclear factor-kappaB. Generally, the anti-inflammatory effects and mechanisms of verticinone and imperialine are mediated by the inhibition of the nuclear factor-kappaB activation signaling pathway. Two new rare 8-methylbenzo[h]coumarins, muralatins A and B (1, 2), nine new C-8-substituted coumarins, muralatins C–K (3–11), and 22 known analogues (12–33) were isolated from the leaves of Murraya alata. The absolute configurations of compounds 5, 11, 23, 24, 27, 30, and 33were assigned via comparison of their specific rotations, by Mosher’s method, and by single-crystal X-ray diffraction and electronic circular dichroism (ECD) data of the in situ formed transition metal complexes. A putative biosynthesis pathway to 1and 2is proposed, and the chemical synthesis of 1was accomplished through electrocyclization of 5,7-dimethoxy-8-[(Z)-3-methylbut-1,3-dienyl)]coumarin (12). Compounds 1, 2, 8, 12, and 31showed inhibition of nitric oxide production in lipopolysaccharide-induced RAW 264.7 macrophages with IC50values of 6.0–14.5 μM.

B4C-CeB6 porous composites are prepared by hot pressed sintering between 1900°C and 2000°C, and mechanical properties and phase composition of B4C-CeB6 porous composites were tested. The results show that the porous rate of B4C-CeB6 porous composites ranges between 30%-48% at sintering temperate 1900°C-2000°C. Porous rate of B4C-CeB6 porous composites is decreased with temperature be increased. Flexibility strength of B4C-CeB6 porous composites is greatly improved compared with that of monolithic porous boron carbide. B4C react with CeO2 to completely form CeB6 in porous composites.

boron carbide–cerium boride porous composites are prepared by hot pressed sintering, and mechanical properties and microstructure of boron carbide–cerium boride porous composites were tested. The results show that Flexibility strength of B4C-CeB6 porous composites is greatly improved compared with that of monolithic porous boron carbide. B4C react with CeO2 to completely form CeB6 in porous composites. CeB6 particles in B4C grain boundary are produced by in-situ reaction. The presence of CeB6 reinforcing particles could also suppress growth of B4C grains which normally leads to improved strength.

Six new polyoxygenated triterpenoids, cannabifolins A–F (1–6), and eight known triterpenoids, 7–14, were isolated from the leaves of Vitex negundovar. cannabifolia. The absolute configuration of cannabifolin A (1) was determined by single-crystal X-ray crystallographic analysis. Compounds 1and 2represent a class of rare natural pentacyclic triterpenoids bearing cis-fused C/D rings and are the first examples of 12,19-epoxy ursane- and oleanane-type triterpenoids. Compounds 3, 7, 8, and 14exhibited inhibition of nitric oxide production in lipopolysaccharide-induced RAW 264.7 macrophages with IC50values in the range 24.9–40.5 μM.

Binding of Zn(II), Co(II) to apo-ImiS results in an activation free energy ΔG≠θvalue of 92.948 and 93.908kJmol−1, respectively, and increasing of fluorescence intensity at maxima emission of 340nm.

The NaCl-KCl-K2HfCl6 electrolyte successfully prepared by the reaction of HfCl4 with equimolar NaCl-KCl. Microstructure, surface morphology and components of the electrolyte were analyzed by XRD, SEM, and EDS. The results show that HfCl4 preferentially reacts with KCl when KCl and NaCl coexist or conversion relationship exist between Na2HfCl6 and K2HfCl6. The removal rates of oxygen reached 96.98%in electrorefining of hafnium attributed to high stability and low volatility of the electrolyte.

Ten new labdane diterpenoids, lagopsins A–H (1–3,5,7–10) and 15-epi-lagopsins C and D (4, 6), together with five known labdane diterpenoids (11–15), were isolated from the whole plants of Lagopsis supina. The absolute configuration of lagopsin A (1) was determined by single-crystal X-ray crystallographic analysis. Compounds 7,9,13, and 15exhibited moderate inhibition of nitric oxide production stimulated by lipopolysaccharide in BV-2 microglial cells with IC50values in the range 14.9–34.9 μM.

Cleaner production is one of sustainable development approaches for wastepaper papermaking industry. Current situation of a wastepaper papermaking enterprise was analyzed, and it showed that the unit product energy consumption, pollutant generation had large cleaner production potential. 16 cleaner production solutions were generated through material balance analysis, advanced technologies collection, experts consultation and other ways. After the plans were carried out, 7.83% of pollutants were cut down, 7.62% of energy was saved, 1.57% of waste paper was reduced, 1.68% of dry fiber raw material was decreased, and 8.80% of reused industrial water increased equally. Cleaner production was an effective way for wastepaper papermaking industry to save energy, reduce energy consumption, reduce pollution, and increase benefit.

The properties of CeO2 -LaB6/B4C composite material prepared by hot pressed sintering method was tested, CeO2 as a sintering aid for boron carbide is investigated in this paper. The study shows: the hardness of CeO2 -LaB6/B4C composite increases with the content of CeO2. The density, hardness, flexibility strength and the fracture toughness of LaB6/B4C composites is greatly improved compared by CeO2 additive. When the content of the CeO2 is 1wt%, LaB6/B4C composite has its the best mechanical properties. The density reaches its supreme value of 2.676 g/cm3, the hardness reaches its supreme value of 39.19 GPa, the flexibility strength reaches its supreme value of 354.15 MPa and the fracture toughness reaches its supreme value of 5.15 MPa.m1/2. In conclusion, the density, hardness and flexibility strength of LaB6/B4C composite is improved by CeO2 additive. However,it gives little effect on fracture toughness of LaB6/B4C composite. The main fracture way of CeO2-LaB6/B4C composite material is intercrystalline rupture, while the transcrystalline rupture is minor.

Liquidus temperature, electrical conductivity and phase composition of Al2O3-CaO-SiO2-CaF2-MgO slag system were studied. The results showed that the liquidus temperature of the slag decreased with increasing MgO content, and its electrical conductivity increased with increasing MgO content and temperature. When the content of MgO is 5 %, the main phase compositions of the slag are composed of MgAl2O4, Ca2SiO2F2, CaAl4O7 and Ca5Al6O14. When the content of MgO is 7 %, the main phase compositions of Al2O3-CaO-SiO2-CaF2-MgO are composed of MgAl2O4, Ca4Si2O7F2, CaAl4O7 and Ca5Al6O14.And the content of MgAl2O4 and Mg2SiO4 increased with increasing MgO.

Alumincoating was prepared on a Ni-Cr-W-Al nickel-base superalloy by pack cementation, the effects of Al content and aluminizing temperature on coating formation were investigated. Coating microstructures were investigated using optical and scanning electron microscopes, EDS and X-ray diffraction (XRD) techniques. The results showed that the coatings prepared at 800°C in the powders with 15%, 30% and 99% Al were different. NiAl3 coating was obtained in the conditions of aluminizing temperature of 700°C, 750°C, 850°C and of Al content of 99%.

Traditional mechanical calculations are more often used in the strength check of the amusement facility nowadays. However, there exit some disadvantages in this way, such as the long cycle cost, the heavy workload, and particularly the inability in case of more intricately forced parts. This paper illustrates the idea of using finite element analysis (ANSYS) software to check the strength of Ferris Wheel amusement machine rotating cockpit, analyzes the loads and stresses of the cockpit frame under extreme work conditions, and comes to a reasonable conclusion. And the strength check of intricately forced workpiece of amusement machines are explored as well.

A large number of wind farms have been built in recent years, it is growing that the wind generating sets share of the total. On the other side, as the controllability of wind generating set is far weaker than the thermal generator set or hydro electric generating set. It leads to many problems for the power grid, such as voltage fluctuation or flicker generated in the process of continued operating or switching operation. It will bring a bad influence on power quality of local grid. Combined with practical conditions in Hebei Hongfeng wind farm, in this paper aiming at wind generating set output fluctuation, the reactive power compensation and the grid stability, mainly setting out from several aspects, analyzes the main reasons of grid voltage fluctuation or flicker caused by wind power generation. It is also analyzed that lowering the grid voltage instability.

Serine/metallo-carbapenemase-coproducing pathogens, often referred to as “superbugs”, are a significant clinical problem. They hydrolyze nearly all available β-lactam antibiotics, especially carbapenems considered as last-resort antibiotics, seriously endangering efficacious antibacterial treatment. Despite the continuous global spread of carbapenem resistance, no dual-action inhibitors are available in therapy. This Perspective is the first systematic investigation of all chemotypes, modes of inhibition, and crystal structures of dual serine/metallo-carbapenemase inhibitors. An overview of the key strategy for designing dual serine/metallo-carbapenemase inhibitors and their mechanism of action is provided, as guiding rules for the development of clinically available dual inhibitors, coadministrated with carbapenems, to overcome the carbapenem resistance issue.

•The main determinants for depression after lacunar and non-lacunar stroke were different.•Infarctions in the frontal cortex were significantly associated with post-stroke depression.•For patients of lacunar stroke, the location of the infarction was not associated with the presence of post-stroke depression.

Cellular target identification plays an essential role in innovative drug development and pharmacological mechanism elucidation. However, very few practical experimental methodologies have been developed for identifying target proteins for supercomplex molecular systems such as biologically active phytochemicals or pharmaceutical compositions. To overcome this limitation, we synthesized gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) as solid scaffolds, which were bound with 4,4′-dihydroxybenzophenone (DHBP) as a photo-cross-linking group on the surface. Then, DHBP-modified AuNPs cross-linked various organic compounds from phytochemicals under ultraviolet radiation via carbene reactions, H–C bond insertion, for catalytic C–C bond formation. We next used the phytochemical-cross-linked AuNPs (phytoAuNPs) to pull down potential binding proteins from brain tissue lysate and identified 13 neuroprotective targets by mass spectrometry analysis. As an exemplary study, we selected Hsp60 as a crucial cellular target to further screen 14 target-binding compounds from phytochemicals through surface plasmon resonance (SPR) analysis, followed by Hsp60 activity detection and neuroprotective effect assay in cells. Collectively, this gold nanoparticle-based photo-cross-linking strategy can serve as a useful platform for discovering novel cellular targets for supercomplex molecular systems and help to explore pharmacological mechanisms and active substances.

Airlift inner circulation reactor (AICR) consisting of beaker and built-in aeration tank was introduced in this paper. The Dissolved oxygen recovery (RDO) was highly influenced by the ratios of the height of built-in aeration tank to the height of liquid level in reactor (Rh/H), the diameter of built-in aeration tank to the diameter of the reactor (Rd/D) and aeration rate (QN). Average RDO of 24.25 m.gm-3.s-s and DO concentration of 8.97mg.l-1 were obtained at Rd/D=0.47, Rh/H=0.68 and QN =1.0m3.m-3.min-1 for aerating 370s at 17℃. The total transferred oxygen in 4L deoxidized water reached 35.89mg, which had an increase by 11.15% than that of the traditional airlift reactor (AR). The DO concentration was 88.33-9.34mg.l-1 for AICR, but it’s only 7.71-8.58mg.l-1 for AR.

Five new compounds, including one new xanthone, 1-hydroxy-5-methoxyxanthone 6-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (1), one new lignan, 3-(β-D-glucopyranosyloxymethyl)-2-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-5-(3-acetoxypropyl)-7-methoxy-(2R,3S)-dihydrobenzofuran (2), and three new γ-pyrones, japonicumone A 4'-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (3), japonicumone B 3'-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (4), and japonicumone B 4'-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (5), together with eight known compounds (6-13) were isolated from the whole plants of Arenaria serpyllifolia. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of extensive spectroscopic analysis (UV, IR, HRESIMS, 1D- and 2D-NMR, and CD) as well as chemical methods. The isolated compounds were evaluated for their inhibitory effects on nitric oxide production in lipopolysaccharide-activated RAW 264.7 macrophages. Compounds 1-5, sacranoside A (9), and pedunculoside (13) showed potential nitric oxide inhibitory activities with IC50 values ranging from 14.92 µM to 52.23 µM. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The effects of different pure Al compositon in the pack powder on aluminide coating formation of a new kind of Ni-Cr-W-Al nickel-base superalloy by pack cementation aluminizing was investigated. The content of pure Al powder is 15% and 30% in the aluminizing agent. The microstructure and phase composition of diffusion coating was studied.

In this experiment, the copper-containing wastewater was adsorbed by HAP which was prepared by high temperature calcination after high temperature cooking fish scales. By the single factor experiments and orthogonal experiments, the optimal conditions were as follows: the initial concentration of copper ion was 200mg/L,the dosage of HAP was 0.2g,the reaction time was 30min,and pH was 5. The maximum removal efficiency was 98.23%.

The aims of this work were to utilize tea seed shell, biomass waste, for the preparation of activated carbon by zinc chloride activation. The effects of the preparation parameters, which were concentration of Zncl2, impregnation ratio, impregnation time and activation time, on the yield and adsorption capacity of methylene blue solution were analyzed in order to optimize these operation conditions by Orthogonal experiment. The experimental results show that the optimum activated carbon from tea seed shell was obtained by these conditions as follows: impregnation ratio of 50% ZnCl2/shell of 1:1.5, 2.5 hours impregnation time and 1.5 hours activation time in 500°C activation temperature.

The mechanical properties of B4C-CeB6 composite prepared by hot pressed sintering method were tested. The study shows: the hardness of B4C-CeB6 composite increases with the content of cerium boride. When the content of the cerium boride is 4wt%, the hardness reaches its supreme value of 31.98Gpa，its hardness is improved nearly 21.09% compared to monolithic boron carbide. The content of the cerium boride does not affect greatly on flexibility strength. However，it gives much effect on fracture toughness. When the content of the cerium boride is 4wt%, the fracture toughness reaches its supreme value of 5.06MPa.m1/2, which is improved nearly 37.5% compared to monolithic boron carbide materials. The main fracture way of B4C-CeB6 composite is intercrystalline rupture, while the transcrystalline rupture is minor. It appears that this change of fracture mode gives rise to the improvement of the fracture toughness.

Liquidus temperature, electrical conductivity and phase composition of Al2O3-CaO-Na2CO3 slag were studied in the paper. The results showed that the minimum value of liquidus temperature was 1429℃ when the content of Na2CO3 was 11%. The Al2O3-CaO-Na2CO3 slag of lower liquidus temperature had higher electrical conductivity, and the electrical conductivity of Al2O3-CaO-Na2CO3 slag increased with the increase of temperature. The main phases of Al2O3-CaO-Na2CO3 slag are composed of CaAl2O4, Ca3Al10O18, NaAlO2 and Na2CO3. The addition of Na2CO3 is to be more effective for decreasing liquidus temperature and increasing electrical conductivity in the Al2O3-CaO-Na2CO3 slag system.

B4C-CeB6/Al composite was fabricated by pressureless infiltration technology. It is composed of the phases of Al, B4C, AlB2, Al3BC and CeB6, and Al4C3 is not found because of the existence of CeB6. It could identify that AlB2, CeB6, and Al3BC were formed as interfacial reaction products. Al3BC is formed on the interface of B4C and Al; therefore it connects the aluminum with the ceramic toughly. AlB2 as strip crystal is formed between B4C and Al, which has higher fracture toughness.CeB6 particles in B4C grain boundary are discovered by TEM, which caused intercrystalline rupture. Grain toughening and reinforcing, crack deflection, crack bridging is the main toughening and reinforcing mechanisms of B4C-CeB6/Al composites.

As an advanced technology in coastal and offshore engineering, wind-driven generator, the suction bucket foundation is one new offshore foundation. It is not only subjected to the long-term action of vertical load(V) induced by all weights of platform and equipment, but also is imposed by both horizontal load(H), moment(M) and torsion(T) caused by wind and wave as well as current. The judgment standard of bearing capacity behavior and practical performance of suction bucket foundation under many freedom loads have been established, which was one key of problems to appraise the stability of foundation. According to the existing results, the features of ultimate bearing capacity and failure envelopes of bucket foundation under combined loads was evaluated in the framework of the general-purpose FEM software package ABAQUS. Results indicated that the failure envelopes of bucket foundation in different loading spaces were plotted, which could be used to evaluate the stability of bucket foundation.
