The article discusses the three ways on how small and medium-sized enterprises can meet environmental, social and governance (ESG) reporting expectations. It includes working with suppliers that adhere to high ESG standards, developing a reporting structure with strong transparency and accountability, and sourcing materials from new regions and countries or choosing service providers in new market territories.

The article discusses the benefits of artificial intelligence (AI) tools to small businesses. Topics include percentage of small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs) in a Constant Contact survey who said that using AI made their business more successful, tools being used by programmers and developers to create AI algorithms, and the growth of the aspects of SMEs' business processes that can benefit from AI.

Asset management is a matter of identifying desirable investments that require optimally structuring the assets within the portfolio. This study compares Puerto Rico mutual funds, passively managed, with actively managed USA mutual funds. We collected data from 48 PR-based mutual funds companies and 127 USA-based mutual funds companies from 1987 to 2018. Test of equality and multivariate regression showed underperformance of PR mutual funds compared to the USA mutual funds. The results of Puerto Rico's mutual funds indicated that strategy, closed mutual funds, and size do not significantly affect performance. But age had a significantly positive effect on financial performance. For further studies, we suggest examining the effect of diversification on passively managed Puerto Rico mutual funds' performance.

Banks, as part of financial institutions, are the cornerstone of the country's expansion and economic development. In Puerto Rico, where there is a need to decrease the dependency on multinational manufacturing entities, small and medium-sized companies can contribute to the economic development of the island. Financial institutions, e.g., banks and cooperative financial unions, are an essential part of the solution to the problem of financing economic activity. Commercial banks need positive perceptions from entrepreneurs to improve their profitability. Financial institutions use corporate social responsibility strategies to influence public perception to increase customer satisfaction. To examine the Puerto Rican entrepreneurs' perceptions of banks' social responsibility, we distributed a questionnaire to micro, small, and medium-sized business persons. As one of the confirming conclusions, banks operating in Puerto Rico enjoy a negative perception among entrepreneurs.
