The CAMX Framework is presented as a set of standards for communications in the electronics assembly industry. The communications layer is studied, and challenges involving scalability, security, and Quality of Service are discussed. Possible solutions that address the presented issues are proposed. The solutions are intended to maintain backwards compatibility.

This paper reports the results on verification of automation software systems that were developed during MOVIDA1 project. In particular, PLC-based control systems implemented in Ladder Diagrams (LD) were modelled and verified. A formalism of Net Condition/Event Systems, derived from Petri Nets, was applied to model both the behaviour of a PLC (programmed in ladder logic) and the dynamics of the controlled plant. A model-checking was applied to verify system properties. Software tools supporting model generation from the source code automate the process of model generation and verification. The paper describes the details of modelling of ladder logic structures and an example of the model-checking application for verification of programmable control systems.

The enantiomers of fourteen O,O-dialkyl-2-benzyloxycarbonyl-aminoarylmethyl-phosphonates are directly separated on the tris(3,5-dimethylphenylcarbamate) cellulose column (Chiralcel OD-R) under reversed phase mode. The results of the chiral separation are different from the results obtained in the normal phase mode. The mobile phase plays an essential role in chiral discrimination when using Chiralcel OD-R. The influences of the mobile phase composition on the retention and the enantioselectivity are investigated. The influences on chiral separation of the length and steric hindrance of alkoxy groups of the phosphonate ester and of the nature of the substituent on the benzene ring that is attached to the chiral carbon atom are also discussed.
