In this work, a dual-polarized endfire phased antenna array with a low-profile is proposed for millimeter-wave (mmW) beam steering application. The proposed antenna array is constructed by a $1\times5$ subarray with vertical polarization (V-pol) realized by novel SIW horn antenna and a $1\times4$ subarray with horizontal polarization (H-pol) realized by quasi-Yagi antenna. Characteristic mode theory (CMT) is employed to guide the wideband design for both V-pol and H-pol elements in the dual-polarized framework. A wide impedance bandwidth for V-pol radiation is 24.6–29.8 GHz, while that for H-pol radiation is 23.37–35.47 GHz. By integrating both subarrays, an overlapping bandwidth from 24.5 to 30 GHz is realized within a total profile of $0.15\lambda _{0} $ ; in addition, high isolation of −20 dB is achieved among most operation band for each element. Furthermore, the maximum realized gain for V-pol radiation and H-pol radiation are 11.4 and 11.6 dBi, respectively. Meanwhile, a wide beam scanning range of −45° to 42° for V-pol radiation and −45° to 39° for H-pol radiation with realized gain over 7 dBi is realized. In virtue of low-profile, wide bandwidth, easy integration, high isolation, and high gain, the proposed antenna array provides a promising candidate for future mmW vehicular applications.

Traditional chemotherapy is often accompanied by off-target toxicity, resulting in adverse side effects and driving the development of targeted therapies. Targeted drug conjugates (TDCs) typically comprise targeting ligands, such as specific antibodies, peptides, or small molecules, attached to a cytotoxic agent via a chemical linker. In this study, we briefly discussed the molecular aspects of the key components of TDCs and the mechanisms by which these key factors exert their activity. Moreover, we reviewed FDA-approved TDCs and promising candidates in clinical trials and discussed current challenges and future directions for TDC development, providing insights for the research and development of novel cancer therapeutics using TDCs. TDCs combine the advantages of highly specific targeting and a potent killing effect, enabling accurate and efficient cancer cell elimination. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) have shown good efficacy in treating various cancers; however, they still present limitations such as immunogenicity, hematotoxicity, and complex pharmacokinetics. Smaller peptide-drug conjugates (PDCs) and small molecule-drug conjugates (SMDCs) may combine the advantages of ADCs while overcoming some of their limitations, thereby presenting more efficacious and safer alternatives. TDCs enhance the therapeutic effects of cytotoxic agents and reduce their adverse effects. However, tumor heterogeneity, limited transmembrane permeability, and drug resistance pose significant challenges for TDCs, potentially affecting their therapeutic efficacy. Nevertheless, TDCs are a promising therapeutic approach for cancer treatment, achieving precise drug delivery while minimizing toxicity and side effects on normal cells.

The use of alternative raw materials such as agricultural biomass and recycled wood waste and by-products in particleboard production is a viable approach to respond to the increased global demand for wood-based materials, and it is a key circular economy principle as well. Wood chips are the second most costly element after resin in particleboard production, where both elements accounting for more than 50% of the overall production cost. Therefore, a significant cost reduction could be achieved by replacing wood chips with lignocellulosic agricultural wastes. Agricultural biomass exists in abundant post-harvest and post-production processes and can be served as an ideal alternative for particleboard manufacturing. This study aimed to review and evaluate the current state-of-the-art particleboard production using a wide variety of environmentally-friendly agricultural biomass, recycled wood waste, and by-products. In this review, the agricultural biomass used for particleboard production was classified into seven different groups based on the part of the plant which they are extracted from, i.e. straw, stalk, bagasse, seed/fruit, leaf, grass, and palms. Particleboards' properties of these raw materials were also compared in terms of their mechanical parameters. The last part of this review concluded the challenges and future potential of using agricultural biomass and recycled wood waste.

Recently, single-particle cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) has become an indispensable method for determining macromolecular structures at high resolution to deeply explore the relevant molecular mechanism. Its recent breakthrough is mainly because of the rapid advances in hardware and image processing algorithms, especially machine learning. As an essential support of single-particle cryo-EM, machine learning has powered many aspects of structure determination and greatly promoted its development. In this article, we provide a systematic review of the applications of machine learning in this field. Our review begins with a brief introduction of single-particle cryo-EM, followed by the specific tasks and challenges of its image processing. Then, focusing on the workflow of structure determination, we describe relevant machine learning algorithms and applications at different steps, including particle picking, 2-D clustering, 3-D reconstruction, and other steps. As different tasks exhibit distinct characteristics, we introduce the evaluation metrics for each task and summarize their dynamics of technology development. Finally, we discuss the open issues and potential trends in this promising field. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Compared with natural aggregate concrete (NAC), the cylinder compressive strength and elastic modulus of Recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) are decreased, but the brittleness is increased. The axial compression performance of RAC can be improved by external confinement. In this paper, the effects of Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipe confinement and composite confinement of PVC pipe and Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) on the axial compression performance of RAC were investigated. The results showed that with the increase of the replacement rate of recycled coarse aggregate, the cylinder compressive strength, peak strain and elastic modulus of RAC were decreased; PVC pipe confinement could significantly improve the cylinder compressive strength, peak strain and elastic modulus of RAC; the CFRP could further improve the cylinder compressive strength and elastic modulus of PVC-RAC to a certain extent, and could significantly enhance the peak strain of PVC-RAC. PVC pipe and CFRP-PVC pipe confinement could improve the axial compression performance of RAC more effectively than NAC. Consequently, PVC pipe and CFRP-PVC pipe confinement could reduce the influence of recycled aggregate (RA) quality on variability of RAC axial compression performance.

The effect of cold rolling reduction on the precipitation of σ phase at 800 °C in the 2906 DSS was investigated. The results show that the precipitation rate of the σ phase is improved with the increase of rolling reduction, and the maximum volume fraction is limited to 15%–20% due to the exhaust of ferrite. Improving the rolling reduction could promote the diffusion of Cr, Ni, Mo departing from ferrite and Ni, Mo departing from austenite during the following aging process. The contents of Cr, Ni and Mo increased suddenly and then keep stable in the σ phase, which preferentially nucleated around the narrow ferrite regions. The increase of cold rolling reduction is favorable for σ phase precipitation due to the promoted diffusion of Cr, Ni and Mo elements, as well as the decrease in thickness of ferrite/austenite lamellar interface. The σ phase/austenite interface is incoherent without orientation relationship between the σ phase and austenite, the orientation relationship between ferrite and austenite illustrates (02-2)γ//(-13-2)α and (33-1)γ//(-33-2)α, and the σ phase becomes coarsen and continuous along the ferrite/austenite interface.

The capacity of human adipose-derived stem cells (hADSCs) to differentiate into motor neurons and the identity of molecular factors that confer hADSCs with the competence of motor neurons have yet to be elucidated. Here, retinoic acid and sonic hedgehog were applied to examine whether hADSCs could be differentiated into motor neurons. As early as 6 h after induction, hADSCs were changed toward neuronal morphology. After induction, hADSCs showed positive immunocytochemical staining for -III-tubulin, choline acetyltransferase, and neuron-specific enolase. Reverse-transcriptase polymerase chain reaction characterization indicated that cells differentiated from hADSCs were restricted to the ventral spinal fate (Nkx2.2, Pax6, Hb9, and Olig2). Our results suggest that hADSCs may be a potential candidate in cellular therapy for motor neuron disease.

Introduction: Myopic eyes show structural differences from normal eyes and may respond differently to microgravity, increasing the risk for possible development of ocular hypertension and glaucoma on orbit. In this experiment we used head-down rest (HDR) at an angle of -15° to produce hydrostatic changes similar to acute exposure to microgravity. Methods: There were 65 subjects (129 eyes) who were divided into groups characterized by refraction: emmetropes (N = 46; refraction error between -0.99 D and +0.10 D), low myopes (N = 39; ≥ -1.0 D to < -3.0 D), and moderate myopes (N = 44; ≥ -3.0 D to < -6.0 D). Each subject was studied resting in a horizontal position and after 1, 6, 11, 16, and 21 min of HDR. Measured variables included systolic and diastolic blood pressure (SBP and DBP, respectively), intraocular pressure (IOP), and ocular perfusion pressure (OPP). Results: The mean values of IOP increased significantly in all eyes during HDR, with lop peaking at 6 mm. Compared to emmetropes and low myopes, moderate myopes showed a significantly greater increase in IOP and higher peak values for IOP (18.6, 1 8.7, and 19.8 mmHg for emmetropes, low, and moderate myopes, respectively). Mean values of OPP in moderate myopes were significantly lower than in emmetropes and low myopes during HDR. Compared with baseline, mean SBP and DBP decreased obviously in emmetropes during HDR, while changes were minimal in the other groups. Conclusion: Abnormal auto-regulation of ocular blood pressure in myopes of moderate and greater severity may pose a risk factor for developing ocular hypertension and possibly glaucoma when exposed to microgravity. The fine blanking process with a stepped-edge punch was researched by finite element method (FEM) and experiment investigation. Finite element analysis showed that the hydrostatic stress of the blank around the edges changes a little during fine blanking process using a stepped-edge punch with negative clearance. The burnish zone of sheared surface increases with the increase of the relative negative clearance. The reasonable forming parameters were presented by a lot of experiment investigations. Parts of three kinds of materials, Q235 steel, copper and industrial aluminum, were formed using fine blanking process with a stepped-edge punch. Full burnish zone were obsearved for all the parts.

In this study, we report the first highly selective HDAC6 inhibitor with hydrazide as the zinc-binding group (ZBG), which displays superior pharmacokinetic properties to the current hydroxamic acid inhibitors. Structure–activity relationship study reveals that ethyl group substituent hydrazide-based ZBG and cap group with more substantial rigidity and larger volume increase the HDAC6 selectivity of designed compounds. Representative inhibitor 35mexhibits potent HDAC6 inhibitory activity with an IC50value of 0.019 μM. To our surprise, 35mestablishes significant improvement in the pharmacokinetic property with much higher AUC0-inf(10292 ng·h/mL) and oral bioavailability (93.4%) than hydroximic acid-based HDAC6 inhibitors Tubastatin A and ACY-1215. Low-dose 35mremarkably decreases LPS-induced IL-1β release both in vitroand in vivoby blocking the activation of NLRP3, indicating that 35mcan be a potential orally active therapeutic agent for the treatment of NLRP3-related diseases.

Dynamic equivalence of the wind farm is a fundamental problem in the simulation of a power system connected with wind farms because it is unpractical to model every generator in a wind farm in detail. In this paper, an Equivalence Method based on the Output Characteristics (EMOC) is proposed, with which the wind farm composed of Squirrel-Cage Induction Generators (SCIGs) can be equivalent to one generator. By considering the diversity of wind generators and special operating characteristics of a wind farm, the equivalent generator based on EMOC responds accurately in various faults. No matter whether the wind farm is integrated in grid or just programmed, EMOC can be used to acquire an accurate equivalent generator. Simulation of the dynamic equivalence of an SCIG wind farm validated the method.

The title complex, [CuCl2(C6H6N4S2)], has a flattened tetrahedral coordination. The CuIIatom is located on a twofold rotation axis and is coordinated by two N atoms from a chelating 2,2′‐di­amino‐4,4′‐bi‐1,3‐thia­zole ligand and by two Cl atoms. Intramolecular hydrogen bonding exists between the amino groups of the 2,2′‐di­amino‐4,4′‐bi‐1,3‐thia­zole ligand and the Cl atoms. The intermolecular separation of 3.425 (1) Å between parallel bi­thia­zole rings suggests there is a π–π interaction between them.
