- Abstract
Ongoing research in the dental specialty, especially implant dentistry, is opening a new horizon. Its improving the survival rate and predictability. It is mainly because of improvement and modifications in the design of dental implant, technique of surgical procedure, and materials. However still, occurrence of implant failure is common and is a matter of concern. Osseointegration failure is possibly because of poor oral health and can be attributed to quality of surrounding bone. Predictability of dental implant is favored by implant design, equal force of dissipation at bone-implant bone contact. Hence, Platform Switched Implants came in picture to make the outcomes predictable. The aim of this bibliometric analysis was to provide summaries of countries, universities, authors, journals, and research data related to platform switched endosseous dental implants. Methodology: This retrospective observational study included online access to Scopus database through login into the Scopus website followed by affiliation search. The results obtained were then was exported. It was exported as “bibtex file.” This focuses on the preservation of the optimal crestal bone for the increased term survival of the endosseous dental implants. Conclusion: Within the limitations of the studies, referred from the span of 10 years (2011-2021) of platform switch implants, showed a significant improvement in crestal bone levels and its maintenance as compared to platform matching abutments. This helps clinician a better understanding of survival rate of dental implants.
