ABSTRACTThis study evaluates hotel guest perspectives on adopting personalised technology-enabled hospitality services by using a quantitative survey methodology. Applying unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) model constructs, the questionnaire gauges 200 guest views on performance benefits, usage effort and conditions influencing adoption of artificial intelligence (AI), the internet of things (IoT) and mobility. Descriptive and correlational analyses highlight innovation by capability and reveal barriers around complexity, privacy and reliability. Findings can inform hotel technology investment decisions and strategic planning to effectively leverage data-driven customisation capabilities across the entire guest journey — from pre-arrival trip planning to post-stay loyalty building. It will also help towards the Hospitality 2.0 vision of balancing digitisation with human connections. This empirical assessment aims to advance sector transformation and next-generation experience elevation through prudent prioritisation guided by evidence-based user willingness going beyond speculative innovation.

Background: Rickshaws are a popular and inexpensive mode of transportation in Bangladesh for short-distance travel. However, the eye leaf spring in a typical rickshaw suspension system does not provide adequate shock isolation. The coil spring-damper suspension system is more effective, but is costly and not affordable for most manufacturers. Thus, the goal is to modify the eye leaf spring to be inexpensive but a safe and comfortable suspension. Aim: The study aimed to modify the material and structure of the leaf spring to limit the stiffness and the shock energy within a certain range suitable for the rickshaw’s suspension. The focus of the study was on modifying the spring structure, which could be cost-effective. Methods: In this study, flexible bolted joints and EVA sheets have been used to change the spring structure. The study compared the performance of the modified spring with the typical eye leaf spring. Results: The modified eye leaf spring provided improved shock isolation and a more comfortable ride compared to the typical eye leaf spring. The changes made to the spring, such as the use of flexible bolted joints and EVA sheets, limited the stiffness and shock energy within a certain range suitable for the rickshaw’s suspension. The modified spring was also found to be cost-effective. Conclusion: The study has demonstrated the feasibility of using a modified eye leaf spring for light vehicle suspensions, specifically for rickshaws. The modifications made to the spring structure, such as using flexible bolted joints and EVA sheets, provided improved shock isolation, a more comfortable ride, and cost-effectiveness. The modified spring offers an inexpensive solution for manufacturers to produce rickshaws with a safer and more comfortable suspension system.

Post commercial deployment of fifth-generation (5G) technologies, the consideration of sixth-generation (6G) networks is drawing remarkable attention from research communities. Researchers suggest that similar to 5G, 6G technology must be human-centric where high secrecy together with high data rate will be the key features. These challenges can be easily overcome utilizing PHY security techniques over high-frequency free-space or underwater optical wireless communication (UOWC) technologies. But in long-distance communication, turbulence components drastically affect the optical signals, leading to the invention of the combination of radio-frequency (RF) links with optical links. This article deals with the secrecy performance analysis of a mixed RF-UOWC system where an eavesdropper tries to intercept RF communications. RF and optical links undergo $\eta -\mu$ and mixture exponential generalized Gamma distributions, respectively. To keep pace with the high data rate of the optical technologies, we exploit the antenna selection scheme at the source and maximal ratio combining diversity at the relay and eavesdropper, while the eavesdropper is unaware of the antenna selection scheme. We derive closed-form expressions of average secrecy capacity, secrecy outage probability, and probability of strictly positive secrecy capacity to demonstrate the impacts of the system parameters on the secrecy behavior. Finally, the expressions are corroborated via Monte Carlo simulations.

Currently, there is no protocol for growing and culturing primary pulmonary arterial cells (PACs) available from the Pulmonary Hypertension Breakthrough Initiative (PHBI). Here, we present a protocol for cultivating and maintaining three major PACs collected from patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH): endothelial (PAH-ECs), smooth muscle (PAH-SMCs), and adventitial cells (PAH-ADCs). We describe steps for obtaining PACs from PHBI, evaluating the growth of cells labeled with quantum dots (QDs), and staining endothelial cell (EC) markers for immunofluorescence imaging.

In this study, the secrecy performance of reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS)-aided wireless networks in the existence of multiple interferers towards the destination is investigated. In particular, three critical issues in the design of secure RIS-assisted networks are examined: effects of interferers, operation of multiple eavesdroppers (colluding and non-colluding), and benefit of RISs. To examine their effects, the analytical expressions of secrecy outage probability are derived in a closed form. Additionally, asymptotic analyses at a high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) regime are provided. Finally, the analytical results are validated through numerical simulations.

Objectives: Abelmoschus esculentus is an important medicinal plant for its traditional and folkloric uses against different types of diseases such as headaches, arthritis, abdominal pain, inflammation etc. It also has been reported that root of the Abelmoschus esculentus possesses good CNS depressant activity along with high analgesic activity in Swiss albino mice. So present study investigated the anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anti-nociceptive activities of methanolic and water extracts of the peel of the Abelmoschus esculentus fruits. Methods and Materials: Anti-inflammatory study was done by carrageenan induced inflammation test for anti-inflammation activities while acetic acid induced writhing test and formalin induced pain test was done for analgesic activities and anti-nociceptive activities respectively in Swiss albino mice. Results: The experimental activities of the methanolic and water extracts of the peels of Abelmoschus esculentus fruits showed statistically significant anti-inflammatory activity (50.87% and 40.87%) in carrageenan induced inflammation test, analgesic activity (77.59% and 68.04%) in acetic acid induced writhing test and anti-nociceptive activity (70.06% and 63.40%) in formalin induced pain test in Swiss albino mice for 200mg. Conclusion: Based on the results of the present study, we conclude that the methanolic and water extracts of peels possess strong anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anti-nociceptive activities. However, further studies are necessary to scrutinize underlying mechanisms of anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anti-nociceptive effects and to isolate the active compounds responsible for these pharmacological activities.

This research explores production styles stroke line and pen hatching effects of free hand drawing in 3 dimensional 3(D) illustration drawing called lukisan kajian. The purpose of the study is to compare line hatching effects ‘Garisan stroke line’ (gSLine) between the Art painting drawing with Architecture Graphic Presentation Drawing. Limitation of respondents from the artist's artistic and architectural illustration painter who actively produce illustration 3(D) drawing and reference art book at Malaysian. SIX experts respondents were used as limitation of the study. Issues ‘free hand’ drawing that is not proportion or ‘kejung’ among students of art and architecture ‘under-graduate’ often discussed in journals within and outside Malaysia started in 2007 to 2014. This qualitative research using a phenomenological study design with methodology through triangulation of observation, visual recordings and literature review. Phenomenon (gSLine) was analysed based on the elements of art: line, shape, form, texture and color in creating 3 (D) illustrations lukisan kajianin free hand drawing style. The findings in the literature, find artistic work known as lukisan pengkaryaan. The paintings drawing by artist illustration graphics architecture, graphics known as lukisan perekaan.The findings of the SIX respondents found that there are three differences (gSLine) between the two disciplines of visual art which in the proportion (visualization), emotion (emosi) and aesthetic (estetik) which are summarized as (dVEE). Research findings found that 4 difference in the quality of the line drawings lukisan perekaan.The findings of the study were collected in order to produce a hybrid model of researchers ‘Art + Architecture Graphic Presentation Drawing’ (A + AGPD). The study used case study in order to production model process (gSLine) in explaining the ‘how’ a 3 (D) illustration lukisan kajian(dVEE) can be produced.

This research is about an attempt to evaluate the effect of water contents towards the packaging properties of paper made from coconut coir, which was being processed manually through beating times method. The purpose of this investigation is to relate the composition of coconut fibre and water content with the tensile strength and tear factor. The composition starts from sample A, which has 90% of water and 10% of coconut fibre. The sample continues with 10% decreasing content of water and 10% increment of coconut coir. Base on tensile test and tear test results, graphs were plotted and it shows sample D, with 60% of water and 40% of coconut coir has produced the highest tensile strength, breaking length and tensile index, with the value of 1020.6 N/m, 422.8 m and 4.1450 Nm/g respectively. On the other hand, sample A produced the highest tear factor, with the value of 92.7 g/mm2. As a conclusion, these packaging properties are good enough to become guidance in paper manufacturing industry, as well as to support the application of coconut coir fibre as an alternative packaging material in the future.

Assembly and disassembly of DNA repair protein complexes at DNA damage sites are essential for maintaining genomic integrity. Investigating factors coordinating assembly of the base excision repair (BER) proteins DNA polymerase β (Polβ) and XRCC1 to DNA lesion sites identifies a role for Polβ in regulating XRCC1 disassembly from DNA repair complexes and, conversely, demonstrates Polβ’s dependence on XRCC1 for complex assembly. LivePAR, a genetically encoded probe for live-cell imaging of poly(ADP-ribose) (PAR), reveals that Polβ and XRCC1 require PAR for repair-complex assembly, with PARP1 and PARP2 playing unique roles in complex dynamics. Further, BER complex assembly is modulated by attenuation/augmentation of NAD+biosynthesis. Finally, SIRT6 does not modulate PARP1 or PARP2 activation but does regulate XRCC1 recruitment, leading to diminished Polβ abundance at sites of DNA damage. These findings highlight coordinated yet independent roles for PARP1, PARP2, and SIRT6 and their regulation by NAD+bioavailability to facilitate BER.
