A little ramble through one of the volumes of the new Britannica, with the ninth edition, will serve to show the nature of the change undergone in the transition from the encyclopedia of 1875-1888 to that of 1911. In the eleventh edition, nineteen pages have been introduced at this place. They include Inclinometer, Income Tay, Incubation and Incubators, Incunabula, Independence, and Independence, besides several minor biographical, legal, and scientific articles. The ninth edition contained under the title Dictionary a list of dictionaries of the principal languages of the world, occupying several closely printed pages.

In this article the author discusses the buying and selling of books produced prior to 1501, known as incunabula, in the English book trade of the 16th century. The author addresses a number of issues, including the pricing of old and new books, number of copies of a title printed and book ownership. In particular, the sale and use of books published by William Caxton is examined.

The article discusses rare books. It references the article "What Is a Rare Book?" by Fred C. Robinson, which appeared in the Fall 2012 issue of "The Sewanee Review". According to Robinson, rare books are most valuable for their historical significance. Details on early books known as incunabula and on the First Folio of playwright William Shakespeare's works are also presented.

The article presents the discussion on Archbishop's Academic Library (EAB) in Paderborn being a university library the Theological Faculty Paderborn and Diocesan Library. Topics include incunabula and medieval around thousand early modern manuscripts as well as documents from the 12th to 18th centuries; and extensive historical holdings coming from secularized or abolished monasteries in the Paderborn region.

The article presents a reprint of the article "NLM® Exhibition, The Cradle-Books: Illustrated Incunabula, Showcases Treasures from the Infancy of Printing," which appeared in the May 21, 2010 issue of the National Library of Medicine (NLM) web site. It says that the NLM® has a new exhibition of nine incunabula which can be viewed at the National Institute of Health (NIH), Building 38, in Bethesda, Maryland. It adds that the exhibition features a copy of "The Nuremberg Chronicle."

The article presents the collection of nearly 200 rare books, incunabula and manuscripts that were donated by deceased businessman Henry Davis to the University of Ulster, including a Latin Bible and a black and white book printed by Geofroy Tory in Paris, France in 1529.

The article reports that the oldest complete copy of the New Testament was published on the Internet on July 6, 2009 after researchers collected digital photographs of bound pages of Codex Sinaiticus, written in the mid-fourth century. Modern researchers traveled to four different countries to examine the pages of parchment, most of which are in the British Museum.

The article offers information on the 2 ScanRobots in the Bavarian State Library wherein they are reading 700 pages per hour in which the scanned texts will be digitalized and will be put online. These ScanRobots are the introductory project for Treventus Mechatronics from the idea of Professor Wolfgang Zagler. The robots feature their ability to scan 60 degree angle-opened books which keeps the old books from being damage. The digitization project of the library will enable them to have 1 million digital versions of their books including medieval manuscripts and incunabula.

The article reports that the Bodleian Library in Oxford, England has published a catalog describing its incunabula collection or pre-1500 printed books. Sir Thomas Bodley's "Store of Honorable Friends" presented many of these books to the library. Some personalities who supported the publication of the catalog were Fritz Thyssen Stiftung and George Mallinckrodt.
