China Textile Institute, Taiwan, has spent five years developing a new electrostatic short fibre removal system for textile machinery. The system combines the carding and combing process in a single machine and replaces the carding, pre-drawing and lap forming processes. Preliminary results show that the electrostatic short fibre removal system shortens sliver preparation time and reduces costs. China Textile Institute is seeking a manufacture to build a production model of its new system.

Dielectric constant of Ba2Ti9O20 ceramics are theoretically calculated based on the chemical structure of the oxides and the mixing rule of dielectric material in this paper. Meanwhile, the microwave properties (εr, Q and τf) of practical Ba2Ti9O20 ceramics are experimentally measured at microwave frequencies. Some of useful suggestions are therefore provided for material optimization of practical ceramics.
