Hence, the existence of the social media live streaming platform creates a waste and diachronic consumption phenomenon as consumers engage in splurge and irrational buying behaviour while joining the livestreaming. This conceptual paper is intended to explore the role of social media live streaming and impulsive purchase behaviour in fast fashion consumption. Following the literature review, consumers' involvement in fast fashion consumption is driven by the intense feeling of intimacy during the livestreaming, which create an urge feeling to purchase fast fashion goods impulsively. Furthermore, this paper provided a basis to further explore consumers' cognitive and affective states in order to rationalise their excessive consumption patterns during realtime interactivity, which could impede sustainable fashion consumption practices. Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to uncover fashion consumers' coping strategies in dealing with impulsive purchase behaviour from the Cognitive Dissonance Theory. Design/methodology/approach: This paper is conceptual paper which presents a framework of coping strategies and cognitive processes on consumers' impulsive purchase behaviour. This study explores the role of livestreaming e-commerce platform towards impulse purchase behaviour in the context of fast fashion which impede towards sustainable fashion consumption. This paper also utilizing Cognitive Dissonance Theory (CDT) to discuss how consumers justify their impulsive purchase behaviour as a rationale consumption practice. Findings: The paper provides new insights into the concept of coping strategy of fashion consumers' impulse purchase by utilizing Cognitive Dissonance Theory (CDT), and the role of livestreaming e-commerce in promoting the unsustainable consumption practice. Research limitations/implications: The paper is a conceptual paper and researchers are encouraged to conduct empirical study to explore the propose framework and concept further. Practical implications: The paper provides the insights on consumers level of awareness on sustainable consumption to policy makers and government in educating and enhance consumers and society's awareness on the importance of sustainable fashion consumption. Originality/value: The coping strategy and fashion consumers' cognitive processes framework on impulsive purchase, as well as to extend literature on fast fashion and sustainable fashion. Precipitation of multiple strong nanoprecipitates is crucial for the development of ultrahigh-strength structural materials with a strength of 2.5 GPa or above. Nevertheless, the ductility usually loses rapidly with strength due to limited dislocation mobility and high cracking tendency if coarse non-deformable precipitates are employed. Herein, we report a 2.5 GPa maraging steel strengthened by an ultrahigh density of intermeshed shearable nanostructures consisting of Ni(Al, Fe) nanoprecipitates and Mo-rich (∼30 at.%) disordered clusters, both of which assume coherent interfaces. The fully coherent B2-Ni(Al, Fe) particles precipitate in an extremely fast fashion, effectively accelerating local aggregation of low-diffusivity Mo atoms and promoting the formation of Mo-rich clusters surrounding them. This elemental partition was found to be further enhanced by Co addition via depleting both residual Al and Mo within the matrix, leading to the formation of copious yet fine intermeshed nanostructures. During plastic deformation, the interlocked nanostructures not only enhance local cutting stress by combining long-range elastic and short-range chemically ordering effects but also improve dislocation activity and resist shear-induced plastic instability. The multiple shearable nanostructures endow decent ductility (> 6%) of the 2.5 GPa steel, suggesting a new paradigm for designing ultrastrong steels. [Display omitted] [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Fashion is art-except in the United States. Classified as purely useful articles, fashion designs have been constrained in their ability to receive copyright protection under the current regime. Today, individual pieces of fashion designs may receive protection under the pictorial, graphic, and sculptural works category of the United States copyright code after satisfying the "separability test." This has opened the door for fast fashion brands to run rampant, copying designs at every turn with little to no penalty. This Note argues that the United States copyright code should be amended, adopting portions of the French Intellectual Property Code, to formally recognize fashion designs as a protected work, thereby protecting them from fast fashion replication. This Note further argues that because fashion is inherently different compared to the protected works recognized by both regimes, the term length of the economic rights granted should be shortened to twenty years to recognize the cyclical nature of fashion and allow for more innovation in the space. Boohoo, a British online fast fashion retailer, has appointed Tim Morris as the new independent Chairman, shifting Co-Founder Mahmud Kamani to the role of Executive Vice Chair.
