We present a linguistic analyzer developed by us for future users who wish to use it with their own grammatical and lexical criteria, which works on Excel sheets with programs developed in VBA (Visual Basic for Application). We dedicate the second part to the concrete analysis of the text of Don Quixote (Miguel de Cervantes) by the program. We argue on the frequencies of different words belonging to different grammatical categories. Instead of bipartite classification ranking function words and content, we propose a new fourfold typology: grammatical, instrumental, common and disperse words. Finally, we examine the effect of frequency on the process of grammaticalization. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
