The article describes the case of a two-week old neonate with umbilical mass diagnoses as umbilical granuloma. It describes differential diagnosis for umbilical mass include ectopic tissue, umbilical polyp, patent omphalomesenteric duct, patent urachus, omphalomesenteric or urachal cyst, umbilical hernia, omphalocele, gastroschisis and omphalitis. Proposed treatments include silver nitrate, surgical excision and the topical corticosteroid clobetasol.
