Roadway insulation and active cooling supporting structure is a complex system, and the mechanical properties play an important roal in its safety. Analyse the shotcrete layer pattern heat insulation structure by Midas-GTS software, calculation results shows that tensile stress zone appears in the top and bottom of heat insulation layer, while the will compressive stress area appears in two sides of the roadway insulation layer; in the case of 500m buried depth, heat insulation layer material, such as vitreous micro-bead, can well meet the engineering mechanical strength requirements.

To evaluate the erosion of various engineering materials subject to cavitation in laboratory, a ultrasonic vibratory apparatus (UVA-1) is designed and manufactured according to ASTM G 32-06. The principle and setup of the UVA-1 are briefed. Some utilities of this apparatus are listed with several good examples.

Longitudinal crack on HRB335 hot-rolled ribbed bar surface in cold bending test in HISCO was ever a problem that caused great economic losses. To find the main reason, continuous cast product macro-acid etching test，metallographic examination，scanning electron microscope and EDAX are carried out. It is regarded that the defect is mainly caused by serious subsurface blowholes and internal cracks in the cast product，which can run through the surface in the later hot working process and are oxidized. As a result, the inner surface of these defects can not be welded-on in the rolling process and the cracks happen finally. Related measures are suggested to eliminate the defect.

The high efficient blowing technique includes increasing oxygen supply intensity and optimizing slag forming. The oxygen supply intensity on 300 t converters of No. 1 steelmaking shop at Baosteel reaches 3.83m3/(t • min), and at Taiyuan Steel, Lianyuan Steel, Pingxiang Steel and other steel plants, the oxygen supply intensity on medium converters is in the range of 4.0–4.4m3/(t • min). The productivity of converter can be increased by 8%–15% with adopting this technique. The whole technique, including design and manufacture of lance nozzle with reasonable pacnolontenue of outlets, technique of oxygen supply and slag forming, has been developed by CISR1 to meet the need of technique transfer.

1.1. Statistics of the congenital malformations found among 14,834 newborn infants in National Taiwan University Hospital from 1955 to 1962 are presented. There were 129 deformed babies, an incidence of 0.87 per cent which may be somewhat lower than in other reports.2.2. No differences between mothers of malformed infants and those in a comparison series were noted in respect to percentage distribution by ABO blood groups, to the age of mother, or the birth order.3.3. The incidence of anencephalus was 0.115 per cent, a little higher than that in other reports of Asian populations. No female predominance of anencephalic babies was found, but fifty eight per cent of the mothers of anencephalic babies belonged to blood group B.

A very rare exttaovarian hormone-producing the-coma, originated from the broad ligament, is described. Its preoperative diagnostic difficulty, clinical significance, differential diagnosis and histogenesis are discussed.

To unveil the physical origin of clorine (Cl) as the low effectiveness n-type dopant, the effects of Cl defects in CuInSe2(CIS) with the different doping sites and defect-pairs are systematically investigated by first-principles calculations. The results exhibit that the Cl energetically prefers the interstitial site instead of generally believed substitutional site with both Perdew--Burke--Ernzerhof (PBE) and Heyd--Scuseria--Ernzerhof (HSE06) functionals. The electronic structure calculations further show that doping would be p-type when Cl occupies the interstitial site, which is greatly different from the n-type doping in substitutional site. Such results clarify the intrinsic mechanism of the low effectiveness of n-type Cl-doping in CIS.
