In this country we have comprehensive experience in refurbishing road pavements with conventional asphalt agglomerates. However, in a context of unavoidably having to fully optimize the (increasingly) scant resources available, we are having to explore new refurbishment methodologies even more if possible by incorporating local materials and enabling economically and environmentally sustainable production and commissioning technologies. Moreover, there is also an interest in implementing new collaborative contracting modalities capable of establishing themselves in this formidable wealth of knowledge and good practices available to us in managing our road pavements. In this regard, we are presenting in this article an experience being developed by the Generalitat de Catalunya government for implementing a Plan for sustainable pavements as part of the road pavement refurbishment actions being undertaken on Catalonia’s road network, applying as a methodology the possibilities offered by the Innovative Public Purchase Offer. In recent years we have seen how the reduction of accidents on our roads has come to a standstill. This means that new actions have become necessary, different to those hitherto implemented, so that we can again reduce and bring about Vision Zero on our roads. For head-on and front-side collisions, transforming conventional roads into 2+1 roads is a relatively low-cost measure providing very good results. The article explains and itemizes different experiences undertaken in the network of the Generalitat de Catalunya government where, in specific cases leading to strong social concerns due to the high accident rates, implementing these solutions has led to radical change. At this time, the Generalitat is implementing an ambitious plan for transformation to 2+1 on different road axes and is drafting a design regulation and a circular notice to self-impose this type of section under certain conditions. Part of the special libraries which depend on Catalan government are working in network since 1998. The 49 participant libraries develop and apply cooperative projects, understood as collective actions with common benefits: improvements in the internal functioning of each library or documentation centre, general improvements of proceedings and services shared in network, and gave visibility to the libraries. The article reports on the capture of Juan Comorera, the leader of Communism in Catalonia, Spain. In the 1930s, Comorera helped in founding the Catalonian independence movement. After serving the Communist Party overseas, he and his wife returned in Barcelona and posed as a retired schoolteacher. Comorera was captured after Social Brigade Chief Inspector Pedro Polo recognized him.

This article reports on the appointment of the Directorate by King Alfonso XIII of Spain after the bloodless revolution in 1923. Under the leadership of Captain General Primo Rivera, the Directorate raised several points, including the abolition of the jury trial system, the prosecution of the Moroccan War and the trial of members of the Alhucemas government. It also issued a decree imposing fines and sentences of imprisonment for violating rules on the use of the Spanish flag and the Spanish language.

The article discusses the insulting behavior of Luis de Galinsoga, publisher of the newspaper "La Vanguardia Espanola," to the Catalans of Spain. It mentions that Galinsoga attended mass at San Ildefonso Church and felt mad when the priest delivered the sermon in Catalan instead of Castilian. It states that after his disruptive action, thousands of copies of La Vanguardia were cut into strips and dispersed over Barcelona's streets and its circulation declined from 120,000 to 30,000 copies.
