A study was made of the volume changes taking place during the sintering of ZhCh20Kh3-7.I chromium constructional steel. It is shown that the complex character of ?V/V variation as a function of sintering temperature is due to the processes taking place between the constituents of this material. The temperature ranges have been determined in which the reaction of the individual constituents of the material with iron exerts a predominant influence on the magnitude of volume changes.

1.A study was made of the antifriction properties of sintered constructional chromium and carbon steels and, for comparison, of ShKh15 steel in rubbing without lubrication against R9 steel.2.With increase in sliding velocity, the coefficient of friction in the operation of all the materials investigated was found to decrease, while their wear increased.3.The highest wear resistance of all the materials tested was shown by ZhCh25Kh3 sintered chromium steel.
