Abstract

A study conducted at Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou, China, has found that chronic exposure to interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma) in gastric cancer (GC) can lead to a shortage of tryptophan (Trp) and the production of aberrant peptides. The study focused on EBV-positive GC and found that the production of aberrant peptides was linked to antigen presentation and the activation of the mTOR/eIF4E signaling pathway. Inhibiting this pathway counteracted the production and antigen presentation of aberrant peptides.
