FARMERS' markets, STAKEHOLDER analysis, MARKETING research, ONLINE social networks
Abstract
A recent study conducted by the University of Florence (UNIFI) in Italy explores the governance of Farmers' Markets (FMs) in Tuscany. The research aims to analyze the forms of governance and the role of different stakeholders in FMs. The study found that FMs are social constructions that involve direct exchanges between producers, consumers, and other stakeholders at both local and non-local levels. The results highlight the importance of hybridization between different types of governance at the FM level. This research provides valuable insights into the economic and social aspects of FMs and contributes to the understanding of multi-actor and multilevel governance in sustainable food systems. STOCK exchanges, BANKING industry, ELECTRONIC systems
Abstract
The author suggests taking consideration of the stock market in Italy during 1986. According to the author, although Italy's stock market is off 15.2 percent from its high in May 2006, it is still more than double a year ago. However, aside from its stock market, the author also cited a report from Tuscan hill town where two banks allegedly reflect the current mania. One bank had electronic boards in the window while the other had a quote machine and a 30-minute line spilling onto the street.
DECENTRALIZATION in government, MEDICAL care, NURSES, HOSPITALS
Abstract
This article presents the author's views on the changes that have taken place since the government decentralization in Italy. Ever since Italy decentralized into regions responsible for their own local affairs, many things have improved, at least in Tuscany. It is informed that specialists now visit the small-town hospitals from the nearby big towns, and patients are referred to city hospitals when necessary. However, there is a lack of nursing care. There are nurses who provide specialized medical attentions, but all the other services have to be performed by the family.
