The article reports on the case of department store, Meier & Frank (M&F), in Portland, Oregon, which was charged with unfair labor practices in the fall of 1950. The newspapers, "Portland Oregonian" and the "Oregon Journal," have reported the decision of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) in the case. As a reaction to their reports, M&F reduced its advertisement to Portland Oregonian, which reported a detailed account of the decision of the NLRB. M&F's advertisements to the Oregon Journal, whose report is kinder to M&F, were retained.
