The article refers to a study of labor leaders and class status in the United States. Research found that union leaders' social and psychological objectives can influence decisions on union strategy, which also affect relations between management and employees. This article presents a study of a rabbinical student on the poor in Milwaukee, Wisconsin's inner city. The study concludes that Jewish apathy is a frustrating, ever-present factor which clouds the future of Jewish-African-American relationships as the African-American fights for his place in the U.S. society. It was observed that the so-called African-American anti-Semitism is basically only an anti-white attitude rather than something directed specifically against the Jew. On the other hand, the traditional role of Jewish civil rights organizations in bringing help to the African-American has made little or no impression on either the African-American or Jew.
