This article presents information concerned with discriminatory voting practices in Negroe-populated county, Ruleville of Mississippi. This Congressional District has been represented by Jamie Witen, chairman of the House Apropriations Subcommittee on Agricuture. For the thirteenth term election from this place, Fannie Lou Hamer was the Congress sponsored candidate against Witen. According to Mississippi law the names of all persons who take the registration test must be in the local paper for two weeks. As part of her voter-registration work, Hamer has been teaching citizenship classes, working to overcome the bad schooling Delta Negroes have received.
