Abstract
The article reports on the proposed changes to Hong Kong, China's arbitration law. In a consultation paper published by the Hong Kong government, proposals are made to remove the distinction between domestic and international arbitrations and to adopt the United Nations' (UN) Model Law on International Commercial Arbitration as the basis for the unified regime. The new law retains some domestic features, which include appeal on a point of law where parties expressly agree to this in their arbitration agreements.
