This article concerns the use of a graphics processor unit (GPU) as a math co-processor in real-time applications in special games and physics simulations. To validate this approach, we present a new game loop architecture that employs GPUs for general-purpose computations (GPGPUs). A critical issue here is the process distribution between the CPU and the GPU. The architecture consists of a model for distribution, and our implementation offers many advantages in comparison to other approaches without the GPGPU stage. This architecture can be used either by a general-purpose language such as the Compute Unified Device Architecture (CUDA), or shader languages such as the High-Level Shader Language (HLSL) and the OpenGL Shading Language (GLSL). Although the architecture proposed here aims at supporting mathematics and physics on the GPU, it is possible to adapt any kind of generic computation. This article reports on a new method for analysing self-referential and contradictory sentences. In a new paper, Kostis Vezerides of the American College of Thessaloniki, and Athanasios Kehagias of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in Greece, show that, in almost all cases, paradoxes such as the Liar are resolvable with the use of "fuzzy logic". Earlier work had shown how assigning fuzzy values to self-referential sentences could give rise to mathematical chaos. This is because the systems of equations that must be solved to determine the truth-values are often "non-linear"--so attempts to find a solution can rarely be found in the general case, but must be found numerically, closing in on the answer through several iterations of trial and error. Dr Kehagias and Mr Vezerides, though, set out to find consistent solutions to fuzzy truth equations without chaotic oscillations. Dr Kehagias suggests two directions for further research. The first is to examine the various mathematical algorithms of fuzzy logic from the point of view of psychological authenticity. The second possibility is to devise a form of logic that is in between "fuzzy" logic and normal, true-or-false binary logic. Rather than the infinite choices of fuzzy logic, or the two in binary logic, this would have options for false, true, sort of true, sort of false, and exactly half-way.

The problem of controlling a finite-state asynchronous sequential machine is examined. Main consideration is given to input/output control, where access to the state of the machine is not available. The objective is to use output feedback to control the machine so as to match a prescribed model. It is shown that necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of appropriate controllers can be stated in terms of a simple comparison of two numerical matrices. An iterative learning control (ILC) algorithm, which in essence is a stochastic approximation algorithm, is proposed for output tracking for nonlinear stochastic systems with unknown dynamics and unknown noise statistics. The nonlinear function of the system dynamics is allowed to grow up as fast as a polynomial of any degree, but the system is linear with respect to control. It is proved that the ILC generated by the algorithm a.s. converges to the optimal one at each time t ∈ [0, 1,...,N] and the output tracking error is asymptotically minimized in the mean square sense as the number of iterates tends to infinity, although the convergence rate is rather slow. The only information used in the algorithm is the noisy observation of the system output and the reference signal yd(t). When the system state equation is free of noise and the system output is realizable, then the exact state tracking is asymptotically achieved and the tracking error is purely due to the observation noise. This note develops a distributed approach for fusing ground moving target indicator data with out-of-sequence (OOS) measurements. A multirate interacting multiple model (MRIMM) fusion algorithm is developed for effectively fusing multirate information. The multirate approach provides an excellent framework for efficient information reproduction and forward update. A multirate interacting multiple model filter is employed locally to track a target with or without maneuvering behavior. The combination of global MRIMM fusion and local MRIMM tracking proves to be powerful for tracking and fusing maneuvering and nonmaneuvering targets in an environment of OOS measurement reporting. Problem statement: The problem of finding the minimum value of objective function, when we know only some values of it, is needed in more practical fields. Quadratic interpolation algorithms are the famous tools deal with this kind of these problems. These algorithms interested with the polynomial space in which the objective function is approximated. Approach: In this study we approximated the objective function by a one dimensional quadratic polynomial. This approach saved the time and the effort to get the best point at which the objective is minimized. Results: The quadratic polynomial in each one of the steps of the proposed algorithm, accelerate the convergent to the best value of the objective function without taking into account all points of the interpolation set. Conclusion: Any n-dimensional problem of finding a minimal value of a function, given by some values, can be converted to one dimensional problem easier in deal.
