he Carta de Monterrey, written by Sister Juana Inés de la Cruz, on a date close to 1681, and in response to her confessor, Antonio Núñez de Miranda, is conceived as the most rapturous and eloquent expression of the Hieronymite nun against the control of her spiritual guide and the authority that it represents in the colonial society of the seventeenth century. The interest of the text, within the framework of the New Spanish controversy, is based on three points: the criticism of social hierarchy; The problematization of hegemonic authority and the construc-tion of normative knowledge, which the Jerónima addresses from her triple condi-tion of subaltern, as a woman, nun and literate Creole. This article proposes an ap-proach to the epistolary text from the rhetoric of marginality to analyze the defense of Monterrey as a proposal for the production and reproduction of a dissident and transforming ideology of the prevailing dogmatic order, La Carta de Monterrey, escrita por sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, en fecha próxima a 1681, y en respuesta a su confesor, Antonio Núñez de Miranda, se concibe como la expresión más arrebatada y elocuente de la monja jerónima contra la fiscalización de su guía espiritual y de la autoridad que este representa en la sociedad colonial del siglo XVII. The livestock sector significantly contributes to climate change. How can its carbon footprint be reduced?Gain valuable insights and explore philanthropic opportunities in this Philanthropy Brief.

In 2022, fossil fuel subsidies in the United States totaled $757 billion, according to the International Monetary Fund. This includes $3 billion in explicit subsidies and $754 billion in implicit subsidies, which are costs like negative health impacts and environmental degradation that are borne by society at large rather than producers (i.e., negative externalities).

U.S. efforts to confront the climate crisis have propelled a demand for jobs that will help the country mitigate and adapt to climate change. These climate jobs have been steadily on the rise in the United States. The energy sector as a whole has regained 71% of the jobs lost due to the pandemic in 2020. With a 3.9% growth rate, clean energy job creation outpaced overall job growth in 2022. In total, there were more than 4.2 million climate jobs in 2022.

As billions of dollars are being invested into new clean energy hubs to decarbonize the industrial sector, we must also build up the connective social infrastructure and support systems to ensure that the benefits of those investments flow to the disadvantaged communities most affected by climate change. Climate equity involves ensuring the just distribution of the benefits of climate protection efforts and alleviates unequal burdens created by climate change. The Community Benefits Hub framework aims to:strengthen disadvantaged communities through capacity building and technical assistance;empower community representatives through participation and agency in decision making processes; andensure accountability of the benefits flowing to those communities.
