Large-scale Dynamic Networks (LDNs) are becoming increasingly important in the Internet age, yet the dynamic nature of these networks captures the evolution of the network structure and how edge weights change over time, posing unique challenges for data analysis and modeling. A Latent Factorization of Tensors (LFT) model facilitates efficient representation learning for a LDN. But the existing LFT models are almost based on Canonical Polyadic Factorization (CPF). Therefore, this work proposes a model based on Tensor Ring (TR) decomposition for efficient representation learning for a LDN. Specifically, we incorporate the principle of single latent factor-dependent, non-negative, and multiplicative update (SLF-NMU) into the TR decomposition model, and analyze the particular bias form of TR decomposition. Experimental studies on two real LDNs demonstrate that the propose method achieves higher accuracy than existing models.

Every year, for ten years now, the IPIN competition has aimed at evaluating real-world indoor localisation systems by testing them in a realistic environment, with realistic movement, using the EvAAL framework. The competition provided a unique overview of the state-of-the-art of systems, technologies, and methods for indoor positioning and navigation purposes. Through fair comparison of the performance achieved by each system, the competition was able to identify the most promising approaches and to pinpoint the most critical working conditions. In 2020, the competition included 5 diverse off-site off-site Tracks, each resembling real use cases and challenges for indoor positioning. The results in terms of participation and accuracy of the proposed systems have been encouraging. The best performing competitors obtained a third quartile of error of 1 m for the Smartphone Track and 0.5 m for the Foot-mounted IMU Track. While not running on physical systems, but only as algorithms, these results represent impressive achievements.

Two independent neuroradiologists investigated the presence of FVHs, large-artery severe stenosis or occlusion (LASO) in magnetic resonance angiograms, and the nature of factors associated with FVH.Results: A total of 207 patients were enrolled in this study. FVHs were detected in 42 (20.3%) patients, in whom atrial fibrillation (AF) was confirmed in 25 (59.5%) cases and LASO was confirmed in 30 (71.4%) cases. The corresponding figures were 33 (20.0%) and 10 (6.1%), respectively, for the 165 FVH-negative patients. Pneumothorax and hemoptysis are the most common complications of percutaneous needle biopsy of the lung. According to reports published over the past decades, pneumothorax incidence in patients who underwent TTNB greatly varies. The morbidity of pneumothorax after CT-guided TTNB depends on several factors, including size and depth of lesions, emphysema, the number of pleural surfaces and fissure crossed, etc. Attention to biopsy planning and technique and post-biopsy precautions help to prevent or minimize potential complications. Many measures can be taken to help prevent the progression of a pneumothorax, which in turn might reduce the number of pneumothoraces requiring chest tube placement. A multitude of therapeutic options is available for the treatment of pneumothorax, varying from observation and oxygen treatment, simple manual aspiration, to chest tube placement. When a pneumothorax develops during the biopsy procedure, it can be manually aspirated after the needle is retracted back into the pleural space or by inserting a separate needle into the pleural space. This project develop a new method to generate breakline from the point cloud directly with the MAT. The breakline is a structured line of the object surface which has high curvature. Meanwhile, the reciprocal of the medial edge ball's radius can represent the point with high curvature, which is the fundamental idea of this project. The key parts of the method are: (a) with the help of MAT detecting candidate points having high curvature; (b) connect the candidate points to get breaklines with graph theory or polynomial fitting. The topology of the breakline is considered. In addition, this project also provides the polyline simplification and smoothing. In the resulting breakline, 27/32 are true positive. In general, the average correctness is 97% and 96%, the average quality is 90.67% and 91.19%, and the average completeness is 93.84% and 93.92% for valley and ridge. Most of accuracy parameters are above 80%. The accuracy is high. As to the precision, the average polyline precision is 0.3 and 0.23, and the average vertex precision is 1.14 meter and 1.12 meter. Comparing with the point density 2 pts/m^2. 25 of 27 breaklines' polyline precision is better than 0.5. 16 of 27 breakline's vertex precision is better than 1.0; and 23 of 26 is better than 1.5. Ikitsuki Bridge is a three span continuous truss bridge with a length of 800 m, which was completed in July 1991. In December 2009, a crack which seriously damages the safety of the bridge was found in a diagonal member near an intermediate pier during an inspection for determining points to be annually inspected. In order to identify its cause, some tests on the material used for the cracked member were conducted, and a long-term monitoring of wind and vibration of some diagonal members with similar structural characteristics to the cracked member had been carried out since December 2011. In this article, the outline of the crack is presented and the main causes of the crack are discussed based on the results of the tests and monitoring. The conclusions can be summarized as follows: (i) The crack initiated and propagated to become approximately 200 mm long as a fatigue crack. The quality of material and weld satisfies the requirement for them. (ii) The vibration of the diagonal members is induced by the wind with the velocity of 6?8 m/s and higher than 15 m/s in the direction approximately normal to the bridge longitudinal axis. The maximum stress range induced by the vibration due to 6?8 m/s wind is approximately 30?40 MPa, while that due to the wind blowing at the velocity of over 15 m/s can be 195 MPa. A new class of ratiometric fluorescence sensors composed of rare-earth (RE) compound nanotubes is described. Polyethylenimine-coated yttrium hydroxide fluoride nanotubes (YHF NTs) that were synthesized hydrothermally exhibit highly efficient fluorescence when doped with RE ions. The polyethylenimine on the NTs facilitates the incorporation of phosphors such as quantum dots or organic dyes onto the NT surface to produce dual-emitting nanocomposites which are excellent ratiometric fluorescence sensors. The phosphor layer and underlying tubes in the nanocomposites act as the indicator and reference probes, respectively. This ratiometric fluorescence method which can be applied to the detection of heavy metals in solutions, temperature sensing, and pH sensing boasts high sensitivity and selectivity as well as better accuracy than traditional intensity-based fluorescence methods.

Two strategies have been explored for organic functionalizations of ZnO nanotetrapods via anchoring groups of carboxylate and phosphonate. With these methods, oleyl chains were assembled on the surfaces of the ZnO nanotetrapods, significantly enhancing their solubility in nonpolar solvents, such as chloroform and toluene. The surface functionalization strategies have been extended to electroactive and photoactive molecules such as protoporphyrin and C-60 on the ZnO nanotetrapods. The surface-modified ZnO nanotetrapods were characterized comprehensively, revealing a uniform, covalently linked monolayer assembled on the surface. This work opens a broad perspective for the application of the organically functionalized nanotetrapods in optoelectronics and biomedicine.

We report on controlled synthesis of uniform LnVO(4) (Ln = Ce and Nd) nanocrystals (NCs) with square-plate and H-shaped morphologies in nanosized reverse microemulsion reactors, via a facile solvo/ hydrothermal strategy. The NCs were thoroughly characterized by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), infrared absorption spectroscopy, and photoluminescence. Possible mechanisms of the rare-earth orthovanadate NC growth and size and shape evolution are proposed. A unique upconverted avalanche luminescence property pertaining to the NCs has been discovered, systematically studied, and mechanistically discussed. Our work combines synthetic and optical studies of the NCs and lays a foundation for reinventing their applications in optoelectronics among others.

Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) is shown to mediate the splitting of LnVO(4) (Ln = Ce and Nd) nanocrystals from rods to sheaves and to spherulites under hydrothermal conditions with remarkable controllability and uniformity. The roles of EDTA are thought to be to (1) chelate the Ln(3+) ions in solution, thus decreasing the nanocrystal nucleation rate but increasing the growth rate, and (2) interfere with the nanocrystal growth by capping the nanocrystal surfaces. Upconverted avalanche luminescence from LnVO(4) nanoplates, nanowires, and straw-nanosheaves has been demonstrated and compared. We found that the LnVO(4) strawsheaves have a relatively more efficient upconversion due to the smaller avalanche excitation threshold caused by the strong cross-relaxation between the bundled nanorods in the sheaves.
