- Abstract
The New Haven Initiative for Excellence in Education is a private sector endeavor to support public schools in New Haven (Connecticut). This document presents detailed descriptions of 77 such projects funded by the Initiative during the 1987-1988 school year, and covering the following areas of education: (1) special education; (2) primary; (3) middle; and (4) secondary. The following information is provided for each project: (1) description, including name of grant recipient, educational level, subject, number of students served, school, and project duration; (2) activities; (3) budget; (4) special equipment; (5) outcomes; and (6) comments from staff and/or students. Also included are an index of names; lists of 1987 and 1988 contributors; and lists of the project's staff, steering committee, and grant reviewers. (PB)
