The usual image of undines is that of evil beings, an idea that spread especially in the 19th century. However, the origins of this mythological character have a double face, since positive aspects can also be found. Undine by Christian Petzold, inspired by Fouqué's story, creates a new meaning for the figure of the undine based on this ambiguity and show it in two main aspects: the city of Berlin (of which its urban planning stands out) and love relationships (in which selfishness occupies a central place), La imagen habitual que se tiene de las ondinas es la de seres malvados, idea que se extendió en el siglo XIX especialmente. The recent occurrence of four species in the Dutch part of the North Sea is reported. The gastropods Vitreolina antiflexa (Eulimidae) and Ondina divisa (Pyramidellidae) are entirely new to the Dutch malacofauna. For the bivalves Semierycina nitida (Erycinidae) and Altenaeum dawsoni (Condylocardiidae) only records of empty shells are known.

In the seventies F. Nordsieck introduced many new nominal taxa in the Pyramidellidae (Opisthobranchia). His original material of the genera Chrysallida, Ondina (s.n. Evalea) and Menestho has been revised. For some taxa lectotypes are designated. For Odostomia (Evalea) elegans A. Adams, 1860, a neotype is designated. In addition Ondina jansseni sp. nov. is described.
