1. Art history teaching in teacher education in southern Brazil : a study of an alternative programme and its relation to cultural identity and social aspirations

Abstract

This thesis provides a critical account of a practitioner research project in which an alternative art history teaching programme was designed and undertaken in 2002-2003. This was run as part of a fine arts teacher-training course at a culturally-diverse college in Southern Brazil. The project arose from a perceived need to transform art history teaching in Southern Brazil from being an instrument of acculturation to a process of cultural empowerment, and to enable it to be more closely aligned to the current requirements of preparing art teachers to be educators of culturally reflective visual readers. The design of the alternative programme requires changes in course content and teaching strategies. The research into the processes and impact of the alternative programme involved collecting data through observations, semi-structured interviews (individual and group), questionnaires, and tasks (assignments, reading, and critical appraisals). The analysis of this data showed that changes were possible without impairing the students' engagement with art history as a field of study. It was also found that art education and history can play a role in shaping the aspirations of immigrant families and their plans for social mobility. In examining the influence of their descendants' education in the arts on their families' plans for social mobility, it became apparent that Eurocentric art history education, which the alternative programme had sought to avoid, could still be appropriate to the social context of the students because of the value placed on it by their families. The findings of the study suggest that the students benefited from the changes introduced to the teaching programme since they led them to reflect on their own social and cultural structures, and allow them to become teachers able to employ the kind of art history teaching they prefer, even if it retains Eurocentric features.

Abstract

The change of the shell structure in atomic nuclei, so-called nuclear shell evolution, occurs due to changes of major configurations through particle-hole excitations inside one nucleus, as well as due to variation of the number of constituent protons or neutrons. We have investigated how the shell evolution affects Gamow-Teller (GT) transitions that dominate the beta decay in the region below Sn-132 using the newly obtained experimental data on a long-lived isomer in Ag-127. The T-1/2 = 67.5(9) ms isomer has been identified with a spin and parity of (27/2(+)) at an excitation energy of 1942(-20)(+14) keV, and found to decay via an internal transition of an E3 character, which competes with the dominant beta-decay branches towards the high-spin states in Cd-127. The underlying mechanism of a strong GT transition from the Ag-127 isomer is discussed in terms of configuration-dependent optimization of the effective single-particle energies in the framework of a shell-model approach. Abstract

Newly observed decay schemes of the nuclei Sb-137 and Sb-138 are reported. The neutron-rich Sb isotopes were produced by the in-flight fragmentation of a U-238 primary beam with an energy of 345 MeV/nucleon. Several new excited states of Te-137 with tentatively assigned spin-parities of (5/2(-)), (9/2(-)), and (7/2) have been established which play an important role in the evolution of neutron levels beyond N = 82. The study of the beta decay of Sb-138 led to a considerable extension of the level scheme of Te-138 including the identification of several nonyrast states. The structure of Te-137 and Te-138 is discussed on the basis of large-scale shell-model calculations performed using two different effective interactions.

Abstract

Neutron-rich radioactive isotope (RI) beams in the vicinity of Zr110 were produced using the in-flight fission of a 345-MeV/nucleon U238 beam at the RIKEN Radioactive Isotope Beam Factory. The RI beams were separated in flight by the large-acceptance two-stage fragment separator BigRIPS. Isotopes were clearly identified in a low-background particle-identification plot, which was obtained from the measurements of time of flight, magnetic rigidity, and energy loss using beam-line detectors placed in the BigRIPS separator and the ZeroDegree spectrometer. Nine new isotopes, Br101, Kr102, Rb105,106, Sr108, Y110,111, Zr114, and Nb117, are reported for the first time, with their measured production cross sections compared with the extrapolations of lighter isotopes down to the femtobarn regime.

Abstract

The decay of five neutron-heavy rhodium isotopes were studied at the Radioactive Isotope Beam Factory (RIBF) Facility at the RIKEN Nishina Center after relativistic fission of 238U beam on a thick beryllium target. Previously unknown associated gamma-ray decay energies are reported for each nuclide, and through evaluating the intensity of the 2+ → 0+ E2 transition in the even-even palladium daughter nuclei, 120,122,124Pd, from the beta-tagged gamma-ray spectra an upper or lower limit of beta-delayed neutron emission is deduced for each nuclei. A general, expected trend of increasing Pn is observed in the direction of the neutron drip line.

Abstract

The beta decay of the semimagic Sn isotopes Sn-136,Sn-137,Sn-138 has been studied at the Radioactive Isotope Beam Factory at the RIKEN Nishina Center. The first experimental information on excited states was obtained for Sb-137 while, in the case of Sb-136, the established excitation scheme could be extended by ten previously unidentified levels. In the decay of the most-neutron-rich isotope Sn-138, two gamma rays were observed for the first time. The new experimental results, in combination with state-of-the-art shell-model calculations, provide the first information with respect to the evolution of the Og(7/2) and 1d(5/2) proton single-particle states with increasing neutron number beyond N = 84.

Abstract

The neutron-rich isotopes of palladium have attracted considerable interest in terms of the evolution of the N = 82 neutron shell closure and its influence on the r-process nucleosynthesis. In this Letter, we present the first spectroscopic information on the excited states in Pd-125(79) and Pd-127(81) studied using the EURICA gamma-ray spectrometer, following production via in-flight fission of a high-intensity U-238 beam at the RIBF facility. New isomeric states with half-lives of 144(4) ns and 39(6) mu s have been assigned spins and parities of (23/2(+)) and (19/2(+)) in Pd-125 and Pd-127, respectively. The observed level properties are compared to a shell-model calculation, suggesting the competition between proton excitations and neutron excitations in the proton-hole and neutron-hole systems in the vicinity of the doubly magic nucleus Sn-132. Abstract

The beta-delayed gamma-ray spectroscopy of neutron-rich Ag-123,Ag-325 isotopes is investigated at the Radioactive Isotope Beam Factory of RIKEN, and the long-predicted 1/2(-) beta-emitting isomers in Ag-123,Ag-325 are identified for the first time. With the new experimental results, the systematic trend of energy spacing between the lowest 9/2(+) and 1/2(-) levels is extended in Ag isotopes up to N = 78, providing a clear signal for the reduction of the Z = 40 subshell gap in Ag towards N = 82. Shell-model calculations with the state-of-the-art V-MU plus M3Y spin-orbit interaction give a satisfactory description of the low-lying states in Ag-123,Ag-325. The tensor force is found to play a crucial role in the evolution of the size of the Z = 40 subshell gap. The observed inversion of the single-particle levels around Ag-123 can be well interpreted in terms of the monopole shift of the pi 1g(9/2) orbitals mainly caused by the increasing occupation of nu 1h(11/2) orbitals.

Abstract

A new high-spin isomer in the neutron-rich nucleus Cd-128 was populated in the projectile fission of a U-238 beam at the Radioactive Isotope Beam Factory at RIKEN. A half-life of T-1/2 = 6.3(8) mswas measured for the new state which was tentatively assigned a spin/parity of (15(-)). The experimental results are compared to shell model calculations performed using state-of-the-art realistic effective interactions and to the neighbouring nucleus Cd-129. In the present experiment no evidence was found for the decay of a 18(+) E6 spin-trap isomer, based on the complete alignment of the two-neutron and two-proton holes in the 0h(11/2) and the 0g(9/2) orbit, respectively, which is predicted to exist by the shell model. Abstract

The 3D Additivist Cookbook (2017), devised and edited by Morehshin Allahyari & Daniel Rourke, is a free compendium of imaginative, provocative works from over 100 world-leading artists, activists and theorists. The 3D Additivist Cookbook contains .obj and .stl files for the 3D printer, as well as critical and fictional texts, templates, recipes, (im)practical designs and methodologies for living in this most contradictory of times. In March 2015 Allahyari & Rourke released The 3D Additivist Manifesto, a call to push the 3D printer and other creative technologies, to their absolute limits and beyond into the realm of the speculative, the provocative and the weird. グロール化が一層進行するこれからの社会において，将来の就労を含む生活に向けた生活力の育成を目指し，教科「職業・家庭」に新たに社会生活に関する内容を加味した，教科「キャリアマネジメント」を教育課程に位置づけ，カリキュラム開発を行っている。評価の４観とキャリア教育における４つの基礎的・汎用的能力を用いた評価によって生徒の変容を見取り授業評価を行うことで，カリキュラムについて検討した結果，生徒や保護者，教員に対して一定の効果があった。今後は，学習過程とそれによって身につく資質・能力について整理することが課題である。, With the ongoing globalization in society, it is necessary to develop a new type of curriculum to prepare today's students for their future lives, especially their careers. TI1e curriculum developed in this study places an emphasis on vocation and home life, and it includes a new subject-Career Management-which deals with social life. The lessons in each unit for this subject were evaluated using reference criteria and in terms of four career abilities. From these results, adjustments were made to the lesson content, and the effect of the new curriculum was measured. The curriculum was found to be effective for students, their parents, and teachers. It will be necessary in a future study to examine ways of developing the associated learning process and assess its effects with regard to promoting competencies.

Abstract

For the first time, the gamma decay of excited states has been observed in a nucleus situated in the quadrant south-east of doubly magic Sn-132, a region in which experimental information so far is limited to ground-state properties. Six gamma rays with energies of 50, 86, 103, 227, 357, and 602 keV were observed following the beta-delayed neutron emission from Cd-133(85), populated in the projectile fission of a U-238 beam at the Radioactive Isotope Beam Factory at RIKEN within the EURICA project. The new experimental information is compared to the results of a modern realistic shell-model calculation, the first one in this region very far from stability, focusing in particular on the pi 0g(9/2)(-1) circle times nu 1f(7/2) particle-hole multiplet in In-132(83). In addition, theoretical estimates based on a scaling of the two-body matrix elements for the pi h(11/2)(-1) circle times nu g(9/2) analog multiplet in Tl-208(127), one major proton and one major neutron shell above, are presented.

Abstract

The beta decay of the semi-magic nucleus Cd-130 has been studied at the RIBF facility at the RIKEN Nishina Center. The high statistics of the present experiment allowed for a revision of the established level scheme of In-130 and the observation of additional beta feeding to high- lying core-excited states in In-130. The experimental results are compared to shell-model calculations employing a model space consisting of the full major N = 50-82 neutron and Z = 28-50 proton shells and the NA-14 interaction, and good agreement is found.

Abstract

The decay of the N = 83 nucleus Cd-131 has been studied at the RIBF facility at the RIKEN Nishina Center. The main purpose of the study was to identify the position of the and proton-hole states and the energies of core-excited configurations in the semi-magic nucleus In-131. From the radiation emitted following the decay, a level scheme of In-131 was established and the feeding to each excited state determined. Similarities between the single-particle transitions observed in the decays of the N = 83 isotones In-132 and Cd-131 are discussed. Finally the excitation energies of several core-excited configurations in In-131 are compared to QRPA and shell-model calculations.

Abstract

グローバル化が一層進行するこれからの社会において，将来の就労を含む生活に向けた生活力の育成を目指し，時間割表の「職業・家庭」に新たに社会生活に関する内容を加味した教科「キャリアマネジメント」を教育課程に位置づけ，カリキュラム開発を行った。単元ごとの評価を観点別評価とキャリアの4能力によって授業を実践した結果，生徒や保護者・教員に対して学校設定教科のカリキュラムに一定の効果があった。指導内容の見直しなど，より一層の授業改善が今後の課題である。, In the society with the progress of the globalization, it is necessary to develop a new curriculum in order to foster the ability to live for the future life including career. The curriculum has 'Vocation and home' with a new subject 'Career Management' with the content about a social life. Each unit of the lessons were evaluated with a criteria referenced evaluation and four abilities of career. From the result, the lessons were improved and the effect of the curriculum was measured. As a consequence, to utilize the curriculum was effective in a degree for students, their parents, and teachers. However it is a future problem to make a review of the contents of the instruction and the lessons and examine a way of the evaluation.

Abstract

A low-lying state in In-131(82), the one-proton hole nucleus with respect to double magic Sn-132, was observed by its gamma decay to the I-pi 1/2(-) beta-emitting isomer. We identify the new state at an excitation energy of E-x = 1353 keV, which was populated both in the beta decay of Cd-131(83) and after beta-delayed neutron emission from Cd-132(84), as the previously unknown pi p(3/2) single-hole state with respect to the Sn-132 core. Exploiting this crucial new experimental information, shell-model calculations were performed to study the structure of experimentally inaccessible N = 82 isotones below Sn-132. The results evidence a surprising absence of proton subshell closures along the chain of N = 82 isotones. The consequences of this finding for the evolution of the N = 82 shell gap along the r-process path are discussed.

Abstract

A new isomer with a half-life of 23.0(8) ms has been identified at 2406 keV in Pd-126 and is proposed to have a spin and parity of 10(+) with a maximally aligned configuration comprising two neutron holes in the 1h(11/2) orbit. In addition to an internal-decay branch through a hindered electric octupole transition, beta decay from the long-lived isomer was observed to populate excited states at high spins in Ag-126. The smaller energy difference between the 10(+) and 7(-) isomers in Pd-126 than in the heavier N = 80 isotones can be interpreted as being ascribed to the monopole shift of the 1h(11/2) neutron orbit. The effects of the monopole interaction on the evolution of single-neutron energies below Sn-132 are discussed in terms of the central and tensor forces.

Abstract

Delayed gamma-ray cascades, originating from the decay of (6(+)) isomeric states, in the very neutron-rich, semimagic isotopes Sn-136,Sn-138 have been observed following the projectile fission of a U-238 beam at RIBF, RIKEN. The wave functions of these isomeric states are proposed to be predominantly a fully aligned pair of f(7/2) neutrons. Shell-model calculations, performed using a realistic effective interaction, reproduce well the energies of the excited states of these nuclei and the measured transition rates, with the exception of the B(E2; 6(+) -> 4(+)) rate of Sn-136, which deviates from a simple seniority scheme. Empirically reducing the nu f(7/2)(2) orbit matrix elements produces a 4(1)(+) state with almost equal seniority 2 and 4 components, correctly reproducing the experimental B(E2; 6(+) -> 4(+)) rate of Sn-136. These data provide a key benchmark for shell-model interactions far from stability.

Abstract

The decay of an isomeric state in the neutron-rich nucleus Cd-129 has been observed via the detection of internal conversion and Compton electrons providing first experimental information on excited states in this nucleus. The isomer was populated in the projectile fission of a U-238 beam at the Radioactive Isotope Beam Factory at RIKEN. From the measured yields of gamma-rays and internal conversion electrons, a multipolarity of E3 was tentatively assigned to the isomeric transition. A half-life of T-1/2 = 3.6(2) ms was determined for the new state which was assigned a spin of (21/2(+)), based on a comparison to shell model calculations performed using state-of-the-art realistic effective interactions. Abstract

本研究では,知的障害のある児童生徒の自己肯定感を育む授業モデルを開発し,授業研究を通じ,授業モデルの有効性の検証を行っていく。昨年度までの研究においては,自己肯定感を育む授業モデルの要素として,5つのポイント(1.児童生徒の興味関心のある教材や題材を準備すること,2.うまくいかないことをやりとげる現実度を上げること,3.活動量や活動の主導権を児童の実態を考慮して適切に配置すること,4.褒める認める場を設定すること,5.集団の力を利用すること)があり,ポイントに基づく授業づくりが有効であることを明らかにした。また,このポイントは,授業をふり返る視点や児童生徒の変容を捉える視点になることも示唆された。 今年度の研究では,ポイントを意識した授業づくりをしていきながら,児童生徒の個々の変容を捉えていく。個々の変容のデータを集約し,小学校・中学校という発達段階に応じた,段階的系統的な指導のあり方や体系的な授業づくりを検討し,教材選定や単元構想の重要性をもとに自己肯定感を育む授業モデルを提案する。

Abstract

特別支援教育において中等教育段階では特に,職業教育,進路指導の充実を図ることが求められている。全教育活動を通じてキャリア教育の視点を踏まえた実践の充実が求められている。本校では従来の作業学習から「働くこと」への意欲を中心に据えた指導を行う「職業生活」を独自に実施することとした。本研究では「キャリアマネジメント」の視点に立ち、従来の作業学習で培ってきた技能や態度ばかりでなく、役割分担と分業による協労によって、他者との関係の中で生徒一人一人が責任を感じ、自らが判断し、適切な行動選択を行いながら主体的に働こうとする姿をめざす。さらに、ワークシステムを応用し、職業的な意味づけする独自の指導方法により、自己選択力・自己決定力、自己評価力、課題遂行力といった就労に必要な力をつけることができた。これらの指導方法を融合する独自のカリュキュラムを提案する。

Abstract

EURICA is a project at AIKEN Nishina Center aimed at studying a wide range of exotic nuclei through beta-decay measurements and high-resolution gamma-ray spectroscopy. The setup is located behind the BigRIPS fragment separator and the ZeroDegree spectrometer at the RIBF. EURICA consists of the HPGe cluster detectors from the previous Euroball and RISING projects, together with double-sided silicon-strip detectors for beta-decay counting and lifetime measurements. Abstract

The level structures of the very neutron-rich nuclei Pd-128 and Pd-126 have been investigated for the first time. In the r-process waiting-point nucleus Pd-128, a new isomer with a half-life of 5.8(8) mu s is proposed to have a spin and parity of 8(+) and is associated with a maximally aligned configuration arising from the g(9/2) proton subshell with seniority v = 2. For Pd-126, two new isomers have been identified with half-lives of 0.33(4) and 0.44(3) mu s. The yrast 2(+) energy is much higher in Pd-128 than in Pd-126, while the level sequence below the 8(+) isomer in Pd-128 is similar to that in the N = 82 isotone Cd-130. The electric quadrupole transition that depopulates the 8(+) isomer in Pd-128 is more hindered than the corresponding transition in Cd-130, as expected in the seniority scheme for a semimagic, spherical nucleus. These experimental findings indicate that the shell closure at the neutron number N = 82 is fairly robust in the neutron-rich Pd isotopes.

Abstract

近年,学校教育においては,複雑化,多様化していく社会の中で,自ら様々な課題の解決を図り,主体的に周囲と関わっていくための力を育てていくことが求められるようになっている。そうした力の基礎となっているのが,周囲の他者との関係の中で,自分が価値ある存在であることや自分の存在を大切に思う気持ちである自己肯定感であり,学校教育の中で,児童生徒の自己肯定感を高めていくことが求められており,特別支援教育においても例外ではない。本研究では,自己肯定感を「自分の評価を行う際に,自分のよさを肯定的に認める感情」と定義し,自分はかけがえのない存在,価値ある存在として認める自尊感情が育まれる際に働くプラスの感情ととらえた。自尊感情には2つの領域として,「基本的自尊感情」と「社会的自尊感情」があるとする。これらの考え方に基づき,授業を再検討していきながら,小学校・中学校9年間の体系的な授業モデルを構築することを目指す。

韓国の特殊教育は,1994年を境に日本の特別支援教育と大きく変わった。更にIMF 危機によって,特別支援教育だけでなく,様々な制度上の変化が加速された。本稿では,訪問した特別支援学校専攻科の様子と社会的企業について報告した。特別支援学校では,企業と連携した職業指導,施設設備の寄贈等,企業からの支援・企業との連携体制が構築されていた。更に社会的企業は,社会福祉と資本主義の共生とでも言うべき支援体制であり,更に市民の協力があった。これからの日本の特別支援学校の新しい在り方,障害者福祉を考える上で,重要な示唆を受けた。

Abstract

The Euroball array has been used to search for linking transitions between the superdeformed (SD) and the normal deformed (ND) wells in Tb-151. Many. rays in the energy range 2-4 MeV have been observed in coincidence with the yrast SD band. It is proposed that the highest energy transition of 3748 keV and the strongest line (2818 keV) of the previously observed transitions both decay from the same SD level as their links with the ND states have been identified. The current spectra have insufficient statistics to completely identify the decay point in the SD band. Theoretical calculations covering SD bands in the A approximate to 150 region enable the two possible spin assignments to be compared with experimental data on proposed links in Gd-149 and Dy-152. It is concluded that the energy of the lowest SD band member in Tb-151 has an excitation energy of 12861 keV and a spin of 65/2(+)., QC 20100525

A technique for providing high-spin isomers as probes of the fusion reaction and the measurement of g-factor has been worked out at RIKEN. In the study of the fusion reaction C-12(Sm-145m,xn)Er157-x, the gamma rays emitted from the fusion-evaporation residue Er-154 have been successfully observed. Abstract

The first evidence for excited states in Ag-95 is presented. Ag-95 is the heaviest T-z = 1/2 nucleus for which gamma-rays have been identified. The reaction Ca-40(Ni-58, 1p2n)Ag-95 was used in the experiment, which resulted in the assignment of three gamma-rays to Ag-95. Abstract

Isomers in N = 83 isotones of Z = 60 66 were studied systematically. Their spins and parities arc,49/2(+) and 27(+) for odd and odd-odd nuclei, respectively. Nearly constant excitation energies of these isomers indicated a decrease of a Z = 64 shell gap energy as Z decreases from 64 to 60 within the framework of a deformed independent-particle model (DIPM). Their configurations are [v(f(tau/2)h(9/2)i(13/2)), pi(h(11/2))(2)](49/2+) and [v(f(7/2)h(9/2)i(13/2)), pi(h(11/2))(2)(d(5/2))(-1)](27+) for odd and odd-odd nuclei, respectively. The shape of the yrast status changes suddenly at spin 49/2(odd) and 27(odd-odd) from a near spherical to an oblate shape. Transitions from isomers are highly hindered because of the shape changes. They may be categorized to be shape isomers. The development of a secondary beam produced by using these high-spin isomers is also described., QC 20100525

It is thought that slag foaming might be caused by the high speed evolution of small gas bubbles at a reaction interface such as the slag-metal interface and that the size of the bubbles might depend on the interfacial properties such as the wettability between both liquids. Slag foaming behaviour was directly observed in a carbon-iron silicate slag system and in a carbon-iron silicate slag-copper system using a high temperature x-ray technique. CO gas evolution rates were also measured. Large bubbles were observed at the interface between carbon and iron silicate slag due to low wettability in the system. Relatively small bubbles were observed in the carbon-iron silicate slag-copper system because CO gas was evolved at the interface between the iron silicate slag and the Fe-Cu-C alloy.
