There is a strong belief that Allah Almighty could reveal His existence by encoding the laws of nature and their fundamental constants in the Quran with impeccable precision. However, the mathematical frameworks and patterns embedded within the Quranic text to reveal scientific laws and constants may contain minor deviations in numerical values to empower personal exploration, accommodate diverse interpretations, and strengthen faith. This theory is based on the fact that the Quran is the word of Allah Almighty. Consequently, one would anticipate finding evidence suggesting a divine origin. Many scholars and researchers have suggested that this evidence can be found in the mathematical structure of the Quran through patterns, numerical codes, and other mathematical features within the text that are too complex to be simply attributed to human authorship. Therefore, it is believed that the Quran contains within its structure a mathematical encoding of all physical laws and constants. Verses like 20.98, which states, "He encompasses all things in knowledge," are quoted as evidence. According to this perspective, the Quran is assumed to incorporate mathematical miracles, indicating a potential correspondence between its text and the underlying order of the universe. This theory reveals many mathematical frameworks illustrating how the Quran embeds scientific knowledge. These incorporate the identification of frequent occurrences of the golden ratio within the Quranic text and the manifestation of the golden ratio in the human body, alongside the determination of key celestial parameters such as the length of the solar year. Furthermore, this theory uncovers a numerical link between the Quran and fundamental scientific constants, notably the universal gravitational constant, the speed of light, and the Planck constant. Dust exposure in open pit mines is a significant threat to the health of mine workers. Particularly, the concerns are around respirable crystalline silica dust, which can be inhaled into the lungs and cause serious health issues. Miners who are exposed to high concentrations of PM2.5 dust for an extended period of time run the risk of acquiring respiratory conditions like silicosis and lung damage. Drilling is the first production-related operation in open pit mines, and it is considered one of the major sources of respirable dust in mines. This study investigates the application of surfactants in reducing PM2.5 dust resulting from drilling operations in open pit mines. Experiments are conducted on laboratory prepared sandstone blocks to compare the dust reduction rates of the surfactant to those of dry drilling and water-based wet drilling. Rotation rate, feed rate and the surfactant/water flow rate are the drilling variables altered in order to investigate the performance of the surfactant Triton X-100 in various drilling parameters. In addition, the performance of the low-cost Sharp GP2Y1010AU0F PM2.5 sensor for dust sampling is evaluated using the Casella Cel-712 Microdust Pro sensor for giving accurate real-time data by comparing the precision of measurements acquired by both sensors. Triton X-100 demonstrated dust reduction rates of up to 91.4%, where water achieved up to 91.0% dust reduction rate. Moreover, the results of this study suggest that the low-cost GP2Y sensor may not be the most reliable option for measuring PM2.5, and that the Cel-712 is a superior choice due to its more precise and consistent measurements. This study's findings provide useful insights into the use of surfactants in drilling operations and the efficacy of PM2.5 sensors and indicate possibilities for future study. In this paper, we show the energy efficiency of Java applications can be improved by applying Dynamic Voltage and Frequency Scaling (DVFS) inside the Java Virtual Machine (JVM). We augment the JVM to record the energy consumption of hot methods as the underlying CPU is run at different clock frequencies; after all the frequency possibilities for a method have been explored, the execution of the method in an optimized run is set to the CPU frequency that leads to the most energy-efficient execution for that method. We introduce a new sampling methodology to overcome the dual challenges in our design: both the underlying measurement mechanism for energy profiling and the DVFS for energy optimization are overhead-prone. We extend JikesRVM with our approach and benchmark it over the DaCapo suite on a server-class Linux machine. Experiments show we are able to use 14.9% less energy than built-in power management in Linux, and improve energy efficiency by 21.1% w.r.t. the metric of Energy-Delay Product (EDP).

The Government Financial Management Information System (GFMIS) was initiated by the Government of Jordan (GoJ) in 2010, to replace the ‘closed’ financial management system that was previously used by various government agencies. Despite its potential to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the government’s financial management, GFMIS has encountered several user-related issues that might affect user behaviour, intention to use, continuous usage, system users satisfaction, and ultimately, the success of GFMIS. Despite extensive efforts to understand these phenomena, documented studies on the success of GFMIS are not altogether consistent. Hence, this study developed a research model utilising DeLone and McLean’s information systems (IS) success model to identify the determinants of successful GFMIS implementation among the Jordanian public employees. A total of 654 questionnaires were self - administrated to GFMIS users in 52 Jordanian government organisations. Data analysis on 257 usable responseswas carried out using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that 13 out of 15 hypothesised relationships are significantly supported. The results suggest that information quality and service quality have a positive impact on GFMIS use/user satisfaction, while system quality has only a significant effect on GFMIS use. GFMIS use also has a positive effect on user satisfaction. Both use and user satisfaction are significant in predicting net benefits. Moreover, the results prove that user resistance is the determinant of GFMIS use and user satisfaction. The results further support the moderating role of user involvement, while partially support the moderating role of training. This study offers both theoretical and practical contributions. In this paper, we propose a software tool, called AMYTISS, implemented in C++/OpenCL, for designing correct-by-construction controllers for large-scale discrete-time stochastic systems. This tool is employed to (i) build finite Markov decision processes (MDPs) as finite abstractions of given original systems, and (ii) synthesize controllers for the constructed finite MDPs satisfying bounded-time high-level properties including safety, reachability and reach-avoid specifications. In AMYTISS, scalable parallel algorithms are designed such that they support the parallel execution within CPUs, GPUs and hardware accelerators (HWAs). Unlike all existing tools for stochastic systems, AMYTISS can utilize high-performance computing (HPC) platforms and cloud-computing services to mitigate the effects of the state-explosion problem, which is always present in analyzing large-scale stochastic systems. We benchmark AMYTISS against the most recent tools in the literature using several physical case studies including robot examples, room temperature and road traffic networks. Reachability analysis is a critical tool for the formal verification of dynamical systems and the synthesis of controllers for them. Due to their computational complexity, many reachability analysis methods are restricted to systems with relatively small dimensions. One significant reason for such limitation is that those approaches, and their implementations, are not designed to leverage parallelism. They use algorithms that are designed to run serially within one compute unit and they can not utilize widely-available high-performance computing (HPC) platforms such as many-core CPUs, GPUs and Cloud-computing services. This paper presents PIRK, a tool to efficiently compute reachable sets for general nonlinear systems of extremely high dimensions. PIRK has been tested on several systems, with state dimensions ranging from ten up to 4 billion. Symbolic control is an abstraction-based controller synthesis approach that provides, algorithmically, certifiable-by-construction controllers for cyber-physical systems. Symbolic control approaches usually assume that full-state information is available which is not suitable for many real-world applications with partially-observable states or output information. This article introduces a framework for output-feedback symbolic control. We propose relations between original systems and their symbolic models based on outputs. They enable designing symbolic controllers and refining them to enforce complex requirements on original systems. We provide example methodologies to synthesize and refine output-feedback symbolic controllers.

Introduction Cirrhosis as a pathological term has some criteria known to be common in all cases of liver cirrhosis. Esophageal varices are portosystemic collaterals arising in the submucosa of the lower esophagus because of portal hypertension. Portal hypertension is defined as hepatic venous pressure gradient greater than 5 mmHg that arises often as a sequelae of mesenchymal dysfunction in a cirrhotic liver. This study was carried out on 120 personnel divided into three groups: group A included 50 cases of liver cirrhosis with esophageal varices, group B consisted of 50 cases of cirrhosis without esophageal varices, and group C had 20 healthy volunteers a control group. Patients and methods DNA was extracted from the peripheral blood of the study participants. Genotyping of the HO1 413A>T promoter SNP (rs2071746) was performed using TaqMan SNP genotyping assay according to the manufacturer's protocol by RQ-PCR. Results Patients carrying T allele of HO1 promoter were found to have 5.46-fold increased risk of esophageal varices development than patients with cirrhosis carrying A allele. T allele was significantly higher in cirrhotics with esophageal varices compared with those without esophageal varices (P<0.001). Rates of esophageal varices development in patients with cirrhotic liver were 52, 40, and 8% for genotypes TT, AT, and AA, respectively. Conclusion The T allele of heme oxygenase 1 gene SNP polymorphism (rs2071746) is a risk factor for esophageal varices development in cirrhotics.

While many studies and tools target the basic stabilizability problem of networked control systems (NCS), nowadays modern systems require more sophisticated objectives such as those expressed as formulae in linear temporal logic or as automata on infinite strings. One general technique to achieve this is based on so-called symbolic models, where complex systems are approximated by finite abstractions, and then, correct-by-construction controllers are automatically synthesized for them. We present tool SENSE for the construction of finite abstractions for NCS and the automated synthesis of controllers. Constructed controllers enforce complex specifications over plants in NCS by taking into account several non-idealities of the communication channels. Given a symbolic model of the plant and network parameters, SENSE can efficiently construct a symbolic model of the NCS, by employing operations on binary decision diagrams (BDDs). Then, it synthesizes symbolic controllers satisfying a class of specifications. It has interfaces for the simulation and the visualization of the resulting closed-loop systems using OMNETPP and MATLAB. Spoken Language Translation (SLT) is becoming more widely used and becoming a communication tool that helps in crossing language barriers. One of the challenges of SLT is the translation from a language without gender agreement to a language with gender agreement such as English to Arabic. In this paper, we introduce an approach to tackle such limitation by enabling a Neural Machine Translation system to produce gender-aware translation. We show that NMT system can model the speaker/listener gender information to produce gender-aware translation. We propose a method to generate data used in adapting a NMT system to produce gender-aware. The research study is conducted with an aim to determine the ways through which large portfolio organizations of UAE can be able to foster innovation by adopting practices of Project Portfolio Management. On the basis of the literature review, the theoretical framework was developed and identified 6 variables that may influence the PPM towards innovation. In the data analysis section, the relationship of variables has been determined with the PPM success and innovation. A total of 6 hypotheses have been framed on the basis of the conceptual model of the study. Quantitative Research approach is applied in the research and for the prepared questionnaire, the data were collected from 219 respondents of the large organizations of UAE, the data analysis and hypotheses’ testing was performed with the help of SPSS. On the basis of the correlation analysis, the relationship between the variables of the study has been interpreted. Report analysis findings indicate various factors that positively affect the success of the project portfolio management in fostering innovation. These are; the project portfolio manager’s engagement, organizational culture, involvement of senior managers, changing external environment, governance in the PPM and availability of the resources. As for this research study, it was able to identify that the project portfolio management practices are essential in fostering innovation within UAE’s organizations.

Optical image analysis (OIA) allows a quantitative characterization of pore space measured through thin sections. Together with petrographic studies, by using optical microscopy (OpM), OIA could provide a reproducible pore characterization of sedimentary rocks in applications related to the geological storage of CO2. This research is focused on the application of the OIA technique to measure porosity on thin section samples of sandstones from Spain before and after CO2 injection to supercritical (SC) conditions in autoclave (P ≈ 7.5 MPa and T ≈ 35 °C). The aim of this article is to show preliminary measures by OIA using images acquired with high-resolution scanner (HRS). Mineral images were acquired from thin sections before and after SC-CO2 injection. The optical measures of porosity on the thin sections of sandstones showed an effective pore segmentation considering different images in cross-polarized light conditions (90°/0°; 120°/30°) and plane-polarized light conditions (90°/-) of the same petrographic scene. Mineralogical studies by OpM and OIA-HRS have allowed an exhaustive characterization of the samples studied and a preliminary approximation of the CO2-rock interactions. This study shows a fast, effective and reproducible methodology that allowed the researchers to obtain qualitative information about changes in the pore network (optical porosity) distribution on the thin section that could be applied to similar experimental injection tests.

The last decade has witnessed significant attention on networked control systems (NCS) due to their ubiquitous presence in industrial applications, and, in the particular case of wireless NCS, because of their architectural flexibility and low installation and maintenance costs. In wireless NCS the communication between sensors, controllers, and actuators is supported by a communication channel that is likely to introduce variable communication delays, packet losses, limited bandwidth, and other practical non-idealities leading to numerous technical challenges. Although stability properties of NCS have been investigated extensively in the literature, results for NCS under more complex and general objectives, and in particular results dealing with verification or controller synthesis for logical specifications, are much more limited. This work investigates how to address such complex objectives by constructively deriving symbolic models of NCS, while encompassing the mentioned network non-idealities. The obtained abstracted (symbolic) models can then be employed to synthesize hybrid controllers enforcing rich logical specifications over the concrete NCS models. Examples of such general specifications include properties expressed as formulae in linear temporal logic (LTL) or as automata on infinite strings. We thus provide a general synthesis framework that can be flexibly adapted to a number of NCS setups. This study aimed to identify the application of E-government and its impact on knowledge management in Ministry of Industry and Trade in Jordan, to achieve the objectives of this study, the researchers designed a questionnaire includes (46) questions; in order to collect the primary data from the study sample which consists of (80) employees at Ministry of Industry and Trade in Jordan. After analyzing the study data and test its hypotheses, the study found a set of results, including the following: - The presence of a statistically significant effect at a specific level (P ? 0.05) for the applications of E-government on the four processes of knowledge management (acquisition and creation of knowledge, save and store knowledge, share and transfer of knowledge and apply and use of knowledge) at Ministry of Industry and Trade in Jordan. It also shows the presence of a statistically significant effect at a specific level (P ? 0.05) for the sub-variables of the applications of E-government on the processes of knowledge management at Ministry of Industry and Trade in Jordan. In the light of the study’s findings, the researchers recommended a set of recommendations as: 1- The need to develop a specialized unit for knowledge management in the Jordanian ministries like Ministry of Industry and Trade in Jordan, in order to ensure the continuity of work efficiently and effectively. 2- Involve the staff of the ministry in specialized courses in E-government and knowledge management in order to increase their efficiency. 3- Emphasize the need to provide an adequate administrative and financial support to activate the processes of knowledge management at the ministry. A series of 1-(N-substituted-1H-indol-3-yl)-3-arylprop-2-ene-1-ones (2a,b-4a,b) were prepared and allowed to react with urea, thiourea or guanidine to give pyrimidine derivatives 5a,b–13a,b. Reaction of 2a,b-4a,b with ethyl acetoacetate in the presence of a base gave cyclohexanone derivatives 14a,b-16a,b. Reaction of the latter compounds with hydrazine hydrate afforded indazole derivatives 17a,b-19a,b. On the other hand, reaction of 2a,b-4a,b with some hydrazine derivatives, namely hydrazine hydrate, acetyl hydrazine, phenyl- hydrazine and benzylhydrazine hydrochloride, led to the formation of pyrazole derivatives 20a,b-31a,b. Moreover, reaction of 2a,b-4a,b with hydroxylamine hydrochloride gave isoxazole derivatives 32a,b-34a,b. The newly synthesized compounds were tested for their antimicrobial activity and showed that 4-(N-ethyl-1H-indol-3-yl)-6-(p-chlorophenyl)-pyrimidine-2-amine (11b) was the most active of all the test compounds towards Candida albicans compared to the reference drug cycloheximide. Eighteen new compounds, namely pyrimidin-2(1H)-ones 5a,b-7a,b, pyrimidin-2(1H)-thiones 8a,b-10a,b and pyrimidin-2-amines 11a,b-13a,b derivatives, were tested for their in vitro antiproliferative activity against HEPG2, MCF7 and HCT-116 cancer cell lines. 4-(N-ethyl-1H-indol-3-yl)-6-(p-methoxyphenyl)-pyrimidin-2-amine (11a) was found to be highly active with IC50 of 0.7 µmol L1., Sintetizirana je serija 1-(N-supstituiranih-1H-indol-3-il)-3-arilprop-2-en-1-ona (2a,b-4a,b) i podvrgnuta reakciji s ureom, tioureom ili gvanidinom, pri čemu su nastali derivati pirimidina 5a,b–13a,b. Reakcijom 2a,b-4a,b s etil-acetoacetatom u prisutnosti baze nastali su derivati cikloheksanona 14a,b-16a,b. Njihovom reakcijom s hidrazin hidratom dobiveni su derivati indazola 17a,b-19a,b. S druge strane, reakcijom 2a,b-4a,b s određenim derivatima hidrazina, tj. s hidrazin hidratom, acetil hidrazinom, fenilhidrazinom i benzilhidrazin hidrokloridom, nastali su derivati pirazola 20a,b-31a,b. Nadalje, reakcijom 2a,b-4a,b s hidroksilamin hidrokloridom dobiveni su derivati izoksazola 32a,b-34a,b. Pripravljeni spojevi ispitani su na antimikrobno djelovanje. Pokazalo se da je 4-(N-etil-1H-indol-3-il)-6-(p-klorfenil)-pirimidin-2-amin (11b) najaktivniji spoj za Candida albicans (ATCC 10231) uz cikloheksimid kao poredbeni lijek. Testirano je antitumorsko djelovanje in vitro osamnaest novih spojeva, tj. pirimidin-2(1H)-ona 5a,b-7a,b, pirimidin-2(1H)-tiona 8a,b-10a,b i pirimidin-2-amina 11a,b-13a,b na tumorske stanice HEPG2, MCF7 i HCT-116. Najaktivniji spoj bio je 4-(N-etil-1H-indol-3-il)-6-(p-metoksifenil)-pirimidin-2-amin (11a) uz IC50 0,7 µmol L1.
