This study aims to investigate the perceptions of health and exercise among older adults in rural Javanese communities in Indonesia. Through a sequential exploratory approach, the research uncovers diverse levels of knowledge regarding health and exercise among the rural population. There are 40 older adults from three different regency in Central Java Province participated in filling out the Global Physical Activity Questionnaire (GPAQ). Further qualitative analysis used 25 samples out of 40 through convenient method. Semi-structured interview is conducted to confirm results of questionnaire and explore their perception on health and exercise. Despite variations, a predominant belief emerges among participants regarding the significant health benefits associated with exercise. Analysis reveals that a considerable majority (87.5%) of participants meet the World Health Organization's recommended standards of >600 METs/week, primarily through work-related physical activities. However, there remains a notable disparity in the prevalence of physical activity during leisure time, particularly in engaging in sport-related physical activities. The accumulated METs score dominantly comes from work and travel-related activities. Qualitative study reveals that there are still few initiatives among older adults to adopt a healthy living through sports and exercise. Some believe that sports were never part of their culture. To address these findings, we urge for strategic interventions from stakeholders to enhance awareness among rural older adults about the importance of sports and exercise to enhance the overall well-being. This entails the implementation of health education programs and the facilitation of collective exercise activities at the village level., Este estudio tiene como objetivo investigar las percepciones de la salud y el ejercicio entre los adultos mayores en comunidades rurales javanesas en Indonesia. A través de un enfoque exploratorio secuencial, la investigación descubre diversos niveles de conocimiento sobre la salud y el ejercicio entre la población rural. The median (interquartile range) daily sedentary time was 200 (78, 435), 240 (120, 420) and 180 (60, 300) minutes for the 18–25, 26–44 and 45+ year-olds, respectively (p = 0.973). Conclusions: An in-depth understanding of the types, frequencies and intensities of PA reported for the Perth Aboriginal community is important to implementing targeted strategies to reduce the prevalence of chronic disease in this context. Therefore, there is compelling evidence that the health of doctors matters, and the doctors’ own physical activity practices influence their clinical attitudes towards physical activity. Aim and objectives: To assess the prevalence of physical activity and its determinants and also to find out the barriers of physical activity among MBBS students in a medical college in Kerala. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted amongst 180 undergraduate medical students. Data was obtained from students using the Global Physical Activity Questionnaire (GPAQ) by WHO and Metabolic Equivalents (METs) were used to express the intensity of physical activities. Results: Of the total 180 students, 128 (71.1%) were found as physically active, and 52 (28.9%) as physically inactive. Among the physically active students, 98 (54.44%) and 30 (16.66%) showed moderate and high levels of physical activity respectively. The mean MET minutes per week attained by the study population in recreational activities is more compared to work and transport. Conclusion: Of the 180 students, average MET scores attained by males and females in the 3 domains of physical activity showed significant difference highlighting the need to promote more activities among females.

Problem: It is important to know the levels of physical activity and sedentary time of people to be able to perform interventions in order to improve lifestyles. Therefore, it is interesting to compare how the physical activity, mass-used and low-cost questionnaires perform, with the accelerometers that provide objective measurements. Objective: to compare physical activity and sedentary time in a group of adults measured by accel-erometry and estimated through what was reported in a self-reported physical activity question-naire. Methods: 12 men and 17 women, mean age of 34.14 years (9.46DS). Accelerometry: each subject carried, at the level of the right hip and secured with a belt, a CSA 7164 uniaxial accelerometer for a week and completed the Global Physical Activity Questionnaire (GPAQ), proposed by the World Health Organization. Results: the t-test of related samples was used showing that there are significant differences between the average sedentary time measured with the accelerometer and with the questionnaire, (p = 0.00). The Wilcoxon test compared the physical activity measured with the accelerometer and with the questionnaire that showed significant differences (p = 0.009). A weak positive correlation (r = 0.45) in time (p = 0.014) could be observed, meaning that both devices register it with the same trend. Conclusion: Care must be taken when interpreting the results of physical activity questionnaires since in general they may present significantly different values than those reported by objective methods. It is necessary to improve the questionnaires, or their interpretation., Problema: es importante conocer los niveles de actividad física y tiempo sedentario de las personas para poder realizar intervenciones a fin de mejorar los estilos de vida. Por ello, resulta interesante comparar como se desempeñan los cuestionarios de actividad física, de usados masivamente y de bajo costo, con los acelerómetros que proveen mediciones objetivas. Objetivo: comparar la actividad física y el tiempo sedentario en un grupo de adultos medidos me-diante acelerometría y estimados a través de lo informado en un cuestionario auto reportado de actividad física. Métodos: 12 varones y 17 mujeres, edad media de 34.14 años (9.46 DS). Acelerometría: cada sujeto portó, a nivel de la cadera derecha y asegurado con un cinturón, un acelerómetro uniaxial CSA 7164 durante una semana. Cuestionario: se utilizó el Cuestionario Global de Actividad Física (GPAQ), propuesto por la Orga-nización Mundial de la Salud. Resultados: se utilizó la prueba t de muestras relacionadas mostrando que existen diferencias sig-nificativas entre los promedios de tiempo sedentario medidos con el acelerómetro y con el cues-tionario, (p=0.00). La prueba de Wilcoxon comparó la actividad física medida con el acelerómetro y con el cuestionario que arrojó diferencias significativas (p=0.009). Se pudo observar una débil correlación positiva (r=0.45) en el tiempo (p=0.014), significando que ambos dispositivos lo regis-tran con la misma tendencia. Conclusión: se debe ser cuidadoso al interpretar los resultados de cuestionarios de actividad física ya que en general pueden presentar valores significativamente diferentes a los reportados por mé-todos objetivos. Despite the existence of a variety of approaches on emotional intelligence and physical activity, research currently focuses on sportsmen/sportswomen and their performance rather than on the relation between the latter and the different levels of emotional intelligence. The main objective of this research is to analyze the relation between physical activity, individuals long-life sports experience, and emotional intelligence among undergraduate students. We will contact 1,301 undergraduate students from the Community of Madrid, who will fill up different questionnaires on the platform Google Forms: GPAQv2, ad hoc survey of sports experience, and TMMS-24. We will show descriptive statistics, Pearson bivariate correlations, and stepwise multiple regression models. The results will help define future research, giving importance to sports and physical activity as main elements for the development and training of emotional skills, as well as finding and analyzing the relation between physical activity levels, long life sports experience, and emotional intelligence among undergraduate students of Community of Madrid. This research may open a new way for sports and physical activity to be the perfect context to satisfy intrapersonal and interpersonal needs., A pesar de la variedad de enfoques ante el constructo de inteligencia emocional y la actividad física, se sigue investigando en esta área focalizando la atención en los deportistas actuales y en su rendimiento y no en las relaciones que estas actividades puedan tener con los diferentes niveles de las dimensiones de la inteligencia emocional. El objetivo principal de la investigación es estudiar las relaciones entre actividad física, experiencia deportiva a lo largo de la vida e inteligencia emocional en los alumnos universitarios. Se contactará con 1301 alumnos de Grado de la Comunidad de Madrid que contestarán a través de Google Forms a las siguientes herramientas: GPAQv2, encuesta ad hoc. De experiencia deportiva y TMMS-24. Se emplearán pruebas descriptivas, se llevará a cabo correlación bivariada de Pearson y se emplearán modelos de regresión múltiple por pasos. Los resultados ayudarán a enmarcar las investigaciones futuras dotando de importancia al deporte y a la actividad física como elementos fundamentales para el desarrollo y entrenamiento de forma transversal de las destrezas emocionales, encontrando y analizando las relaciones que existen entre el nivel de actividad física, la experiencia deportiva a lo largo de la vida de las personas y la inteligencia emocional en alumnos universitarios de Grado de la Comunidad de Madrid. Esta investigación pretende abrir una vía más en la que el deporte y la actividad física, vuelvan a ser el contexto idóneo para la solución de necesidades intrapersonales e interpersonales.

“Global action plan on physical activity 2018–2030” emphasizes the need for weekly moderate physical activity for ensuring human health. Physical activity can be measured by a variety of objective and subjective methods, but one of the prerequisites for understanding the connection between active lifestyle and health certainty that the measuring instrument measures the feature for which it has been created and that it can be used in many countries. The goal of the research is to determine the correlations between measurement properties of fitness club clients’ self-reported physical activity indicators in the Global Physical Activity Questionnaire (GPAQ), International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ), European Health Interview Survey-Physical Activity Questionnaire (EHIS-PAQ), and to evaluate their concurrent validity. Methods: participants (volunteers) were 70 fitness club visitors (age 18-79). This research is preparative part for the further research of the project “European Physical Activity and Sports Monitoring System (EUPASMOS)”. The type, involvement and amount of physical activity was determined by the GPAQ, IPAQ and EHIS-PAQ adapted into Latvian. The research results showed that questionnaires allowed to determine the respondents’ physical activity indicators in and out of fitness club activities. Statistically significant correlations were determined between indicators obtained in all physical activity questionnaires applied in the research (p<0.05). This confirms that all three physical activity determination questionnaires can be used for physical activity research in Latvian environment.

La actividad física diaria se recogió mediante un recuerdo de actividad de 24 horas, un registro de actividad de 7 días autocumplimentado y el cuestionario GPAQ de la OMS. El estilo de vida imperante en la sociedad actual, caracterizado fundamentalmente por el sedentarismo, favorece que éste sea positivo, propiciando así el acumulo de energía en forma de grasa tan característico de patologías como el sobrepeso o la obesidad. Toda acción higiénico-dietética, tanto preventiva como de tratamiento, dirigida a paliar estos problemas de salud requiere de una adecuada estimación del gasto energético del paciente. La energía derivada de la actividad física es uno de los tres pilares del Gasto energético total, sin duda el más variable y difícil de determinar. El presente trabajo nace con el objetivo de estudiar las 3 herramientas validadas para la estimación de la actividad física en población generan que más se utilizan en la práctica clínica diaria. Estudio observacional transversal de tipo descriptivo. La muestra estuvo formada por 138 voluntarios adultos sanos con edades comprendidas entre los 19 y 66 años. La recogida de información se llevó a cabo durante 7 días. Los sujetos fueron entrevistados y sometidos a una exploración física donde se recogieron datos sobre su historia clínica y características de tipo nutricional. La actividad física diaria se recogió mediante un recuerdo de actividad de 24 horas, un registro de actividad de 7 días autocumplimentado y el cuestionario GPAQ de la OMS. A partir de la información recopilada sobre su actividad diaria se estimaron los Factores de Actividad, global (OMS-I) y específico (OMS-II), de la OMS para el recuerdo de 24 horas y para registros de actividad de 3, 5 y 7 días. El estudio de las 3 herramientas se llevó a cabo de forma cuantitativa (Gráficos Bland-Altman y Coeficiente de Correlación Intraclase (CCI) – Criterios de Fleiss) y cualitativa (Tablas de, Grado en Nutrición Humana y Dietética

Physical activity is one of the factors which determines one’s health and fitness, including the professors of Padjadjaran University, as it might support their academic performances. Global Physical Activity Questionnaire (GPAQ) may describe physical activity. The purpose of this study was to describe physical activity profile of the professors of Padjadjaran University based on GPAQ. Physical activity profile which was classified as gender, age group, recommendation fulfillment, and intensity variables by present-ing quantity (n) and percentage (%) was obtained from 141 professors who fulfilled the inclusion criteria. The result of this des-criptive-quantitative study showed that 109 of the respondents were male, and 32 were female. According to WHO age group cate-gories, 35 respondents were middle aged, 78 were elderly, and 28 were late elderly. Fifty-eight respondents (41.1%) did not fulfill minimal recommendation for physical activity, 114 respondents (80.8%) underwent moderate activity and 29 respondents (20.6%) underwent vigorous activity. Therefore, it can be concluded that professors of Padjadjaran University, which were mostly middle-aged men, did not fulfill minimal recommendation for physical activities, although many of them underwent moderate activities in their daily routines.
