Objective. To carry out a systematic analysis of the data available in modern literature and to present the author’s own experience in treating gynecological patients with iron-deficiency anemia (IDA) in order to create an algorithm for the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of IDA in this clinical group. Material and methods. The paper discusses the data of leading international and Russian guidelines for the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of IDA and gives the author’s own materials of following up patients with female reproductive system diseases and anemia for 15 years. Results. The paper formulates the simplest, clear and Russian adjustable algorithms for the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of IDA in the group of gynecological patients, which are to improve the quality of medical care during specialized gynecological examination. Conclusion. By taking into account the absence of uniform conventional guidelines for the prevention and treatment of IDA and the presence of the specific features of this anemia just in gynecological disease, it is very important to create adapted algorithms for this pathology in terms of available international and the author’s clinical experience. © Bionika Media Ltd.
