Nowadays, the business world is characterized by complexity since market and customer requirements are changing rapidly. Based on this assumption, providers are facing the challenge of delivering software products in shorter terms while these products remain innovative. Agile software development has a huge impact on how software is developed worldwide and promises business value in short iterations. At the same time, requirements are the base of all software products, and consequently, Requirements Engineering (RE) plays one of the most important roles in system development. Traditional techniques referring to intended data do not cover the constantly increasing demands of RE and unintended data from digital sources has amplified the need for Data-Driven Requirements Engineering (DDRE). This study contributes to Computer and System Science by providing a process to combine DDRE and traditional RE approaches in Agile software development methodologies. In this study, the researcher is trying to provide a concrete solution to the lack of an effective process to address data-driven requirements in a Scrum environment organized by regular Sprints and the purpose of it is to suggest a new method for requirements elicitation based on digital data and combine them with traditional stakeholder-driven RE in a Scrum agile environment. The method intends to assist Agile professionals to elicit requirements from digital sources in combination with intended data derived from the stakeholders without impacting the main Agile practices. The approach to conduct this study is Design Science Research (DSR) and contains five steps: Explicate Problem, Define Requirements, Design and develop Artefact, Demonstrate Artefact, and Evaluate Artefact. Agila systemutvecklingsmetoder uppstod vid behov av lättrörliga systemutvecklingsmetoder. En av de mest tillämpade metoderna är Scrum, som är anpassad för små, samlokaliserade projekt. Den agila utvecklingsmetoden Scrum är en erkänd metodik inom systemutveckling som möjliggör noggrann utvärdering, testning och iteration inom utvecklingsprojekt. Populariteten av Scrum-metoden har ökat och det har medfört att organisationer med olika typer av strukturer blivit intresserade av att tillämpa Scrum-metoden på nationell och internationell nivå, vilket utmanar Scrum-metodens gränser och teorier. Meningen med Scrum-metoden var ursprungligen att effektivisera systemutvecklingsprojekt på lokal nivå. Distribueringen av Scrum-metoden utmanar därför gränserna och påverkar Scrum-metodens projekteffektivitet. Syftet med denna kandidatuppsats i Informatik är att identifiera, beskriva och förklara förhållanden i en nationellt distribuerad Scrum-process som påverkar den inre projekteffektiviteten. Fallstudiemetoden brukades för denna uppsats, vilken har baserats på ett observationstillfälle hos fallföretaget samt intervjuer med fyra olika rollinnehavare inom fallföretaget. De viktigaste slutsatserna från denna uppsats visar att det finns ett antal förhållanden som påverkar det nationellt distribuerade teamets projekteffektivitet. Valet av releasecykelns struktur påverkar den inre projekteffektiviten, liksom valet av ett mer linjärt team. Fokus på specialkompetens och isolering gentemot kommunikation och samarbete kan påverka hur ett nationellt distribuerat team arbetar över kontorsgränserna. Det visar sig att förhållandena som uppstår ursprungligen har sin grund i hur teamets medlemmar enskilt uppfattar situationerna och att ett team med delade åsikter kan skapa liknande situationer. This thesis is a case study of the design and development of one Canadian province’s intended Grade 12 Chemistry curriculum. It explores the story associated with its design and development and the lived experiences of the stakeholders involved. The goal is to highlight the dynamic human nature of the curriculum construction process. Specifically, through a case study approach this research identifies several dimensions of the nature of curriculum development considered by Pinar et al. (1995), namely: the “historical, political,…phenomenological, [and] autobiographical” (p. 847). This research determined the factors that influenced this curriculum and the lived experiences of the stakeholders involved. It examined how they reflected on the curriculum process and curriculum product, and investigated the deconstruction/reconstruction processes experienced by some participants. This research helps educators make more informed decisions about designing, developing and implementing curriculum.
