Oggi sempre di più i professionisti della psiche si ingegnano a intervenire forme di trattamento diverse dalla psicoterapia, ma comunque efficaci per generare un processo di cambiamento. La nuova edizione riprende alcuni contesti già analizzati, ma con un sostanziale aggiornamento degli interventi: nella psichiatria, nell'area della disabilità, in quella pedagogica e, in particolare, nell'area giuridica, dove sono stati compiuti passi da gigante. Vengono anche indagati contesti nuovi, tra i quali spicca quello delle cure palliative, e si discute di interventi di gruppo, un'innovazione importante in un'epoca di scarse disponibilità economiche.

The digestibility (in vitro), toxicity and metabolic effects of rapeseed (RPH) and sunflower (SPH) protein hydrolysates have been evaluated in a murine animal model. The enzyme Alcalase® was employed to obtain a mild enzymatic hydrolysis of rapeseed and sunflower defatted seed meals (DSM) protein isolates. Both hydrolysates showed higher in vitro digestibility than the respective DSM, presumably as a consequence of the hydrolysis process that they had undergone. In vivo, RPH and SPH were well tolerated. Body and organ weights, biochemical blood parameters from treated male mice were comparable to controls. Food intake was regular in RPH and SPH animals, suggesting a good palatability of the hydrolysates. Not relevant perturbations of the principal hepatic and renal drug metabolism enzymes were observed in RPH or SPH mice. In conclusion, protein hydrolysates from sunflower and rapeseed DSM did not determine relevant toxicological effects; therefore, they could be considered as alternative protein sources and/or food ingredients.

The brain functional architecture grows fast during prenatal period. This study aims to investigate the development of DMN and its correlation with frontal task-positive areas by means of Resting State fMRI in a group of healthy preterm newborns. Interestingly, we found significant correlations between mPFC and the frontopolar region. This functional association was also found to be significantly correlated with age. Our results suggest that the recruitment of regions involved in high order functions might start since the very early age, although frontal areas are characterized by late myelination and expected late connectivity.

We aimed at verifying whether the hemispheric specialisation for categorical/coordinate spatial judgements also applies to the spatial imagery domain by the use of whole-brain fMRI. In a block-design experiment we used the "coordinate" mental clock test. contrasting it with a "categorical" task applied to the same clock stimuli; as a control task we used a syllable counting task requiring a verbal-phonological judgement on the same material of the two imagery tasks. Our results showed that categorical and coordinate Spatial judgements on imagined stimuli rely on the activation of a set of cortical areas, centred upon the superior parietal lobule (SPL) bilaterally. These regions, together with other parietal and prefrontal areas, showed a pattern of relative lateralization, with the left hemisphere being mainly activated during the categorical task and the right in the coordinate task. These data confirm the strong involvement of the SPL in spatial processing. Moreover. our findings suggest that different interconnected neural networks are activated to comply with specific test requirements. giving rise to functional imaging patterns compatible with psychological theories on hemispheric specialization.
