The article focuses on the efforts of the California Space Authority (CSA) towards transformational change through regional economic development to support the needs of space authority and American competitiveness. CSA proposes a strategic plan to retain, grow and create space enterprise in the U.S. by proposing the California Innovation Corridor through partnership with the Department of Labor. The proposal is planned to be institutional, organizational and behavioral while addressing resource alignment, barriers and unintended consequences. It is emphasized that the project will ensure that the partners involved can make contact with key innovation assets and can begin to develop relationship to foster future innovation development and commercialization.
