Defence Science Journal (DSJ) is the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO), India's peer-reviewed research journal in defense science and technology research. This paper presents a bibliometric analysis of 1855 scholarly communications published in the journal during 1994 and 2020. The publications have been searched, identified, and downloaded from the Clarivate Analytics Web of Science Core Collection Database for 27 years, i.e., from 1994 to 2020. Software such as bibliometrix R-package Biblioshiny, VOSviewer, HistCite, and BibExcel have been successfully used to analyze the collected data. The study covers different features like types of documents, growth patterns, prolific authors, countries and institutions, and most cited sources. The majority of the publications were published in 2017. Researchers from the native country, India contributed the maximum number of articles (1405). The findings further indicate that the most prolific institution is the Indian Institute of Technology, which ranks top with 206 publications. Purpose: The present study aims to examine the use of open access (OA) scholarly communication in India and investigate the factors affecting the adoption and use of OA scholarly communication among researchers. Design/methodology/approach: The study adopted a quantitative research approach using a survey method. Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-EXPANDED) of Web of Science database was selected as a source for identifying potential researchers and researchers' contact details. A web-based questionnaire was designed using Google Forms, and a link to the questionnaire was sent by email to 4,237 researchers belonging to Science and Technology. Unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) is the primary basis for formulating the present study's conceptual model. Hierarchical multiple regression (HMR) was applied for identifying the factors that influence the adoption and use of OA scholarly communication. Findings: The study found that researchers have limited knowledge of different OA concepts, initiatives and resources, resulting in a deficient level of participation in OA publishing. The HMR analysis authenticates that attitude, facilitating conditions, Internet usage self-efficacy, article processing charge (APC) and researchers' working experience significantly influence the adoption and use of OA scholarly communication. Based on the findings, the study proposed a validated model to investigate the adoption and use of OA scholarly communication in different institutions, research disciplines and developing countries with similar conditions. Practical implications: The findings have several practical and policy implications for improving OA publishing in India, formulating OA policies and providing directions for further research. Originality/value: This is the first study focusing on adopting and using OA scholarly communication in India. Findings may be helpful in planning and implementing OA initiatives. The influencing factors and the relative importance identified in the present study offered empirical evidence to demonstrate the researchers' attitudes and perceptions for adopting and using OA scholarly communication. The Editor-in-Chief of the Polish Annals of Medicine provides updates and highlights for readers. The top cited paper in the journal is titled "Properties of bovine colostrum and the possibilities of use." The journal has received a total of 715 citations for articles published from 2013-2022. The papers published in the journal have contributed to 13 Sustainable Development Goals, with a focus on SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being. The journal has seen an increase in international cooperation and readership, with a total article view count of 8,606 as of February 2024. Additionally, there are 50 publications within the top 10% most viewed worldwide, with an average view per publication of 22.8. Purpose: This study continues a long history of author co-citation analysis of the intellectual structure of information science into the time period of 2011–2020. It also examines changes in this structure from 2006–2010 through 2011–2015 to 2016–2020. Results will contribute to a better understanding of the information science research field. Design/methodology/approach: The well-established procedures and techniques for author co-citation analysis were followed. Full records of research articles in core information science journals published during 2011–2020 were retrieved and downloaded from the Web of Science database. About 150 most highly cited authors in each of the two five-year time periods were selected from this dataset to represent this field, and their co-citation counts were calculated. Each co-citation matrix was input into SPSS for factor analysis, and results were visualized in Pajek. Factors were interpreted as specialties and labeled upon an examination of articles written by authors who load primarily on each factor. Findings: The two-camp structure of information science continued to be present clearly. Bibliometric indicators for research evaluation dominated the Knowledge Domain Analysis camp during both fivr-year time periods, whereas interactive information retrieval (IR) dominated the IR camp during 2011–2015 but shared dominance with information behavior during 2016–2020. Bridging between the two camps became increasingly weaker and was only provided by the scholarly communication specialty during 2016–2020. The IR systems specialty drifted further away from the IR camp. The information behavior specialty experienced a deep slump during 2011–2020 in its evolution process. Altmetrics grew to dominate the Webometrics specialty and brought it to a sharp increase during 2016–2020. Originality/value: Author co-citation analysis (ACA) is effective in revealing intellectual structures of research fields. Most related studies used term-based methods to identify individual research topics but did not examine the interrelationships between these topics or the overall structure of the field. The few studies that did discuss the overall structure paid little attention to the effect of changes to the source journals on the results. The Journal of Family and Community Medicine (JFCM) is a peer-reviewed open access journal published by the Saudi Society of Family and Community Medicine. This review is aimed to analyze the scientometric attributes of manuscripts published over 27 years from 1994 to 2020 using scientometric technique. The bibliographic records of manuscripts published from 1994 to 2020 were retrieved from the Web of Science and Medline-PubMed databases. The data were analyzed by using VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and Biblioshiny software. A total of 648 manuscripts were included; these were written by 1442 authors, with an average of 2.22 authors per manuscript and 24 manuscripts per year. All manuscripts gained 2,693 citations with a mean ratio of 4.15 citations per manuscript. All the top-20 contributing authors belonged to Saudi Arabia, and 48% of the manuscripts were in the single-author pattern; the multiauthored manuscripts received a higher ratio of citations. The review highlighted the most contributing institutions and countries. Bibliographic coupling of countries, institutions, keywords co-occurrence, and co-citation of journals were also presented. The JFCM is an important journal of Saudi Arabia that has provided a platform to family medicine researchers to share their scholarly and scientific communication for the past 27 years. Over the years, the frequency and number of publications in the journal have improved. The study investigated the research publications of the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) during the period 2009-2018 as reflected in Web of Science database. The results show that 1694 papers were published and gained 20158 citations. The average number of citations per paper identified is 11.89%. Neuroscience Neurology, Psychiatry, and Surgery are the most preferred domains to publish the articles. The global collaboration of NIMHANS is mostly with the USA, England, and Australia. The degree of collaboration is 0.99. The researchers of NIMHANS prefer to publish their papers in Indian journals. Lotka's law was tested to measure the scientific productivity of authors. The present scientometric study assesses the publication output of the scientists of Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS) during 2008 to 2017 as reflected in the Web of Science database to figure out the research performance, scholarly communication behaviour and its citation impact. The scientists of IACS contribute total 4,304 research articles including 22.58 percent international collaborated articles. Further, the publications have been evaluated in terms of year, types of collaboration, authorship pattern, source journals, impact factor, collaborating institutions, collaborating countries and citations. It is found that majority of the published articles are produced by three authored and the international collaborated articles which receive wider citation impact. The developed countries like USA, Japan, Germany and England are found as the most favoured countries by the scientists of IACS for research collaboration and the Journal of Physical Chemistry C shares maximum research articles. Further, Pareto's 80/20 principle has also been applied to examine the scattering of journals as well as articles and the VOS viewer software has been used for mapping the network of collaborating countries. The main objective of this study is to explore scholarly communication trends in the field of Library and Information Science Literature. A total of 28056 records from Web of Science database, Library and Information Science collected from 1989 to 2017, were analyzed.
