We are addressing a parabolic equation with fractional derivatives in time and space that governs the scaling limit of continuous-time random walks with anomalous diffusion. For these equations, the fundamental solution represents the probability density of finding a particle released at the origin at time 0 at a given position and time. Using some estimates of the asymptotic behaviour of the fundamental solution, we evaluate the probability of the process returning infinite times to the origin in a heuristic way. Our calculations suggest that the process is always recurrent.

We study a Pantograph-type equation with Katugampola fractional derivatives. Under nonlocal conditions, we establish some existence and uniqueness results for the problem. Then, some other main results are proved by introducing new definitions related to ULAM stability.

We study a nonlinear fractional boundary value problem (BVP) subject to non-local multipoint boundary conditions. By introducing an appropriate parametrization technique we reduce the original problem to an equivalent one with already two-point restrictions. Using a notion of Chebyshev nodes and Lagrange polynomials we construct a successive iteration scheme, that converges to the exact solution of the non-local problem for particular values of the unknown parameters, which are calculated numerically., Mathematical Physics

In this article, a new deterministic disease system is constructed to study the influence of treatment adherence as well as awareness on the spread of tuberculosis (TB). The suggested model is composed of six various classes, whose dynamics are discussed in the sense of the Caputo fractional operator. Firstly the model existence of a solution along with a unique solution is checked to determine whether the system has a solution or not. The stability of a solution is also important, so we use the Ulam–Hyers concept of stability. The approximate solution analysis is checked by the technique of Laplace transformation using the Adomian decomposition concept. Such a solution is in series form which is decomposed into smaller terms and the next term is obtained from the previous one. The numerical simulation is established for the obtained schemes using different fractional orders along with a comparison of classical derivatives. Such an analysis will be helpful for testing more dynamics instead of only one type of integer order discussion.

The modified Bessel function (MBF) of the first kind is a fundamental special function in mathematics with applications in a large number of areas. When the order of this function is integer, it has an integral representation which includes the exponential of the cosine function. Here, we generalize this MBF to include a fractional parameter, such that the exponential in the previously mentioned integral is replaced by a Mittag–Leffler function. The necessity for this generalization arises from a problem of communication in networks. We find the power series representation of the fractional MBF of the first kind as well as some differential properties. We give some examples of its utility in graph/networks analysis and mention some fundamental open problems for further investigation.

We develop a first-principles approach to define the communicability between two nodes in a time-varying network with memory. The formulation is based on the time-fractional Schrödinger equation, where the fractional (of Caputo type) derivative accounts for the memory of the system. Using a time-varying Hamiltonian in the tight-binding formalism we propose the temporal communicability as the product of Mittag-Leffer functions of the adjacency matrices of the temporal snapshots. We then show that the resolvent- and exponential-communicabilities of a network are special cases of the proposed temporal communicability when perfect (resolvent) or imperfect (exponential) memory are considered for the system. By using theoretical and empirical evidence we show that real-world systems work out of perfect memory, and with an interrelation between memory-dependent temporal communication and imperfect memory spatial transmission of information. We illustrate our results with the study of trophallaxis interactions in two ant colonies.

The purpose of this paper is to determine the existence of tripled fixed point results for the tripled symmetry system of fractional hybrid delay differential equations. We obtain results which support the existence of at least one solution to our system by applying hybrid fixed point theory. Similar types of stability analysis are presented, including Ulam–Hyers, generalized Ulam–Hyers, Ulam–Hyers–Rassias, and generalized Ulam–Hyers–Rassias. The necessary stipulations for obtaining the solution to our proposed problem are established. Finally, we provide a non-trivial illustrative example to support and enhance our analysis.

In this article, we propose a method to solve the time-fractional hyperbolic heat equation. We first formulate a boundary value problem for the standard hyperbolic heat equation in a finite domain and provide an analytical solution by means of separation of variables and Fourier series. Then, we consider the same boundary value problem for the fractional hyperbolic heat equation. The fractional problem is solved using three different definitions of the fractional derivative: the Caputo fractional derivative and two recently defined alternative versions of this derivative, the Caputo–Fabrizio and the Atangana–Baleanu. A closed form of the solution is provided for each case. Finally, we compare the solutions of the fractional and the standard problem and show numerically that the solution of the standard hyperbolic heat equation can be retrieved from the solution of the fractional equation in the limit ¿¿2, where ¿ represents the exponent of the fractional derivative, Peer Reviewed, Postprint (author's final draft)

A two-person zero-sum differential game is considered. The motion of the dynamical system is described by an ordinary differential equation with a Caputo fractional derivative of order α ∈ (0, 1). The performance index consists of two terms: the first depends on the motion of the system realized by the terminal time and the second includes an integral estimate of the realizations of the players’ controls. The positional approach is applied to formalize the game in the “strategies — counter-strategies” and “counter-strategies — strategies” classes as well in the “strategies — strategies” class under the additional saddle point condition in the small game. In each case, the existence of the value and of the saddle point of the game is proved. The proofs are based on an appropriate modification of the method of extremal shift to accompanying points, which takes into account the specific properties of fractional-order systems. © 2019 Krasovskii Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics. In this paper, we study some fractional variational problems with functionals that involve some unknown functions and their Caputo derivatives. We also consider Caputo iso-perimetric problems. Generalized fractional Euler-Lagrange equations for the problems are presented. Furthermore, we study the optimality conditions for functionals depending on the unknown functions and the optimal time T. In addition, some examples are discussed.

With the current raised issues on the new conformable fractional derivative having satisfied the Leibniz rule for derivatives which was proved not to be so for a differential operator to be fractional among others; we in the present article consider the fractional heat diffusion models featuring fractional order derivatives in both the Caputo’s and the new conformable derivatives to further investigate this development by analyzing two solutions. A comparative analysis of the temperature distributions obtained in both cases will be established. The Laplace transform in conjunction with the well-known decomposition method by Adomian is employed. Finally, somegraphical representations and tables for comparisons are provided together with comprehensive remarks.

The object of this paper is to find out the solution of linear fractional differential equation of the incomplete hypergeometric function by using Caputo derivative.

In this paper, we use shifted Chebyshev approximations with the second kind [25] and fractional power series method (FPSM) ([3], [8]) to solve the multi-order non-linear fractional differential equations. The fractional derivative is described in the Caputo sense. The properties of shifted Chebyshev polynomials with the second kind are utilized to reduce multi-order NFDEs. The system of non-linear of algebraic equations which solved by using Newton iteration method. We compared with FPSM. The results are compared withthe traditional methods [23].

Accepted for publication in Fractional calculus and applied analysis, In this work we provide a new mathematical model for the Pennes’ bioheat equation, assuming a fractional time derivative of single order. Alternative versions of the bioheat equation are studied and discussed, to take into account the temperature-dependent variability in the tissue perfusion, and both finite and infinite speed of heat propagation. The proposed bio heat model is solved numerically using an implicit finite difference scheme that we prove to be convergent and stable. The numerical method proposed can be applied to general reaction diffusion equations, with a variable diffusion coefficient. The results obtained with the single order fractional model, are compared with the original models that use classical derivatives.

In This paper, we propose a numerical algorithm for solving nonlinear fractional-order Logistic differential equation (FLDE) by using Sumudu decomposition method (SDM). This method is a combination of the Sumudu transform method and decomposition method. We have apply the concepts of fractional calculus to the well known population growth modle inchaotic dynamic. The fractional derivative is described in the Caputosense. The numerical results shows that the approach is easy to implement and accurate when applied to various fractional differentional equations. &nbsp

In this thesis we developed a numerical method for solving a class of nonlinear fractional boundary value problems using the fractional order Legendre Tau-path following method. Theoretical and numerical analyses are presented. The numerical results showed that this method works properly and efficiently.

Fractional finite difference methods are useful to solve the fractional differential equations. The aim of this article is to prove the stability and convergence of the fractional Euler method, the fractional Adams method and the high order methods based on the convolution formula by using the generalized discrete Gronwall inequality. Numerical experiments are also presented, which verify the theoretical analysis.

If a function can be explicitly expressed, then one can easily compute its Caputo derivative by the known methods. If a function cannot be explicitly expressed but it satisfies a differential equation, how to seek Caputo derivative of such a function has not yet been investigated. In this paper, we propose a numerical algorithm for computing the Caputo derivative of a function defined by a classical (integer-order) differential equation. By the properties of Caputo derivative derived in this paper, we can change the original typical differential system into an equivalent Caputo-type differential system. Numerical examples are given to support the derived numerical method.

Free to read at publisher The equivalent system for a multiple-rational-order (MRO) fractional differential system is studied, where the fractional derivative is in the sense of Caputo or Riemann-Liouville. With the relationship between the Caputo derivative and the generalized fractional derivative, we can change the MRO fractional differential system with a Caputo derivative into a higher-dimensional system with the same Caputo derivative order lying in (0, 1). The stability of the zero solution to the original system is studied through the analysis of its equivalent system. For the Riemann-Liouville case, we transform the MRO fractional differential system into a new one with the same order lying in (0, 1), where the properties of the Riemann-Liouville derivative operator and the fractional integral operator are used. The corresponding stability is also studied. Finally, several numerical examples are provided to illustrate the derived results.

This paper is concerned with the existence of solutions for a non local fractional boundary value problem with integral conditions. New existence and uniqueness results are established using Banach fixed point theorem. Other existence results are obtained using Schauder and Krasnoselskii theorems. As an application, we give an example to illustrate our results.

In this study, we present the exact solution of certain fractional partial differential equations (FPDE) by using a modified homotopy perturbation method (MHPM).The exact solutions are constructed by choosing an appropriate initial approximation and only one term of the series obtained by MHPM. In this paper, we study the fractional Langevin equation, whose derivative is in Caputo sense. By using the derived numerical algorithm, we obtain the displacement and the mean square displacement which describe the dynamic behaviors of the fractional Langevin equation.

In this paper, the spectral approximations are used to compute the fractional integral and the Caputo derivative. The effective recursive formulae based on the Legendre, Chebyshev and Jacobi polynomials are developed to approximate the fractional integral. And the succinct scheme for approximating the Caputo derivative is also derived. The collocation method is proposed to solve the fractional initial value problems and boundary value problems. Numerical examples are also provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the derived methods.

Existuje ale zobecnění pro zlomkové (neceločíselné) řády, které lze implementovat pomocí elektronických obvodů zlomkového řádu (případně provést jejich aproximaci) a které poskytuje nový stupeň volnosti pro návrh elektronických obvodů. Obvody zlomkového řádu jsou obvykle aproximovány diskrétními součástkami pomocí RC struktur s velkými rozsahy odporů a kapacit, a tím se jeví nepraktické pro použití v integrovaných obvodech. Tato práce prezentuje implementaci obvodů zlomkového řádu v integerovaných obvodech a jejich praktické využití v této oblasti. Jsou použity prvky se soustředěnými parametry (např. RC žebřík) i prvky s rozprostřenými parametery (např. R-PMOScap, skládající se z nesalicidovaného proužku polykrystalického křemíku nad hradlovým oxidem); je použita pouze technologie typu analogvý CMOS bez dodatečných procesních kroků. Užití obvodů zlomkového řádu bylo demonstrováno realizací několika integrovaných napěťových regulátorů, v nichž obvody zlomkového řádu realizují řízení zlomkového řádu za účelem dosažení silné stejnosměrné regulace a dobré stability regulační smyčky - i bez použití kompenzační nuly nebo příliš vysoké externí kapacity (některé napěťové regulátory dovolují i zatěžovací kapacitou v rozsahu nula až nekonečno)., Integration and differentiation are usually known for an integer order (i.e. first, second, etc.); however, a generalization to a fractional (non-integer) order is possible, which can be implemented by fractional-order electronic circuits (or make an approximation) and which provide a new degree of freedom for design. Approximation of fractional-order circuits with discrete components usually employs RC structures with a wide range of resistances and capacitances and appear difficult to use in integrated circuits. This work shows implementation of fractional-order circuits in integrated circuits and their use in circuit design. Lumped-element components (e.g. RC ladder) and distributed elements (e.g. R-PMOScap, consisting of unsalicided polysilicon strip above gate oxide) are used; only analog CMOS process is used, without any special processing steps. The usefulness of fractional-order circuits has been practically demonstrated by realization of several integrated voltage regulators, in which fractional-order circuits implement fractional-order regulation to achieve both tight DC regulation and a good stability of the regulation loop, without requiring a compensation zero or too large external capacitance (some of the regulators even allow a load capacitance from zero to infinity).

Samotné analýze předchází seznámení se základní problematikou týkající se teorie celočíselného a neceločíselného řádu. Užití obvodů zlomkového řádu bylo demonstrováno realizací několika integrovaných napěťových regulátorů, v nichž obvody zlomkového řádu realizují řízení zlomkového řádu za účelem dosažení silné stejnosměrné regulace a dobré stability regulační smyčky - i bez použití kompenzační nuly nebo příliš vysoké externí kapacity (některé napěťové regulátory dovolují i zatěžovací kapacitou v rozsahu nula až nekonečno)., Integration and differentiation are usually known for an integer order (i.e. first, second, etc.); however, a generalization to a fractional (non-integer) order is possible, which can be implemented by fractional-order electronic circuits (or make an approximation) and which provide a new degree of freedom for design. Approximation of fractional-order circuits with discrete components usually employs RC structures with a wide range of resistances and capacitances and appear difficult to use in integrated circuits. This work shows implementation of fractional-order circuits in integrated circuits and their use in circuit design. Lumped-element components (e.g. RC ladder) and distributed elements (e.g. R-PMOScap, consisting of unsalicided polysilicon strip above gate oxide) are used; only analog CMOS process is used, without any special processing steps. The usefulness of fractional-order circuits has been practically demonstrated by realization of several integrated voltage regulators, in which fractional-order circuits implement fractional-order regulation to achieve both tight DC regulation and a good stability of the regulation loop, without requiring a compensation zero or too large external capacitance (some of the regulators even allow a load capacitance from zero to infinity).

Samotné analýze předchází seznámení se základní problematikou týkající se teorie celočíselného a neceločíselného řádu. Analýza je prováděna na dvou konkrétních modelech, a to na modelu Lotky-Volterry a bruselátoru, zaměřuje se především na stabilitu rovnovážných bodů. Výsledky jsou podpořeny příslušnými fázovými portréty, při jejichž tvorbě pro neceločíselný případ bylo využito vytvořeného kódu pro numerické řešení soustav rovnic neceločíselného řádu., This bachelor's thesis deals with the analysis of fractional-order two-dimensional models. The analysis itself is preceded by the introduction to the basic issues concerning the integer-order and fractional-order theory. Investigations are carried out for two specific models, Lotka-Volterra model and the Brusselator, the focus is put primarily on stability of the equilibrium points. The results are supported by appropriate phase portraits that were, for the non-integer case, created using the code for numerical solution of fractional differential equations.

Hlavnou témou bakalárskej práce je základná teória a aplikácia zlomkových diferenciálnych rovníc a základných epidemiologických modelov. V posledných rokoch sa používanie zlomkovej kalkulu stalo populárnejším a v mnoho prípadoch, v epidemiológii, vhodnejšie. V práce predstavíme pojmy z teórie neceločíselného rádu diferenciálných rovníc, ako Riemann--Liouvillov integrál a derivácia, Caputova derivácia, a pojmy numerického riešení ako zlomková metóda prediktor-korektor., The main topic of the bachelor thesis is the basic theory and application of fractional differential equations and basic epidemiological models. In recent years, the use of fractional calculus has become more popular and in many cases, in epidemiology, more appropriate. In this thesis, we introduce concepts from the theory of non-integer order differential equations, such as Riemann--Liouville integral and derivative, Caputo derivative, and numerical solution concepts such as the fractional predictor-corrector method.

Práce také obsahuje příklady, experimenty a simulaci pro ověření, případné vyvrácení teoretických výsledků., The main preoccupation of this thesis is an in-depth study and comparison of two fields of differential equations with a greater focus on a non-integer order which during the last decades has proven not only to become more popular because of its applications but also more complex, thus demanding more special approach. This thesis is also provided with multiple examples, experiments, and simulations in order to verify or invalidate the theoretical results.

Bakalářská práce se zabývá zlomkovými diferenciálními rovnicemi Caputova typu. Jsou uvedeny některé základní pojmy zlomkového kalkulu. Následně jsou představeny zlomkové derivace a integrál, na což navazuje formulace počáteční úlohy pro neceločíselné diferenciální rovnice. V oblasti numerických metod je práce zaměřena na Eulerovy metody, které jsou otestovány na několika vybraných úlohách., Bachelor's thesis deals with Caputo fractional differential equations. There are introduced some basic concepts of fractional calculus. Then fractional derivatives and integral is introduced, followed by initial problem for fractional ordinary diferential equations. In the area of numerical methods, thesis is focused on fractional Euler methods, which are tested on several examples.

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na zlomkový kalkulus, zlomkové diferenciální rovnice s Caputovou derivací a především na numerické metody pro řešení těchto rovnic. Numerické metody jsou pro tento typ rovnic velmi důležité, jelikož pouze malá část má známé analytické řešení, proto se musíme spolehnout na řešení numerické. V této práci budou zprácovány následující numerické metody: explicitní a implicitní Eulerova metoda a metoda prediktor-korektor. Cílem je poté vybrané metody realizovat v programu MATLAB a otestovat na několika počátečních úlohách., This bachelor's thesis focuses on fractional calculus, fractional differential equations with the Caputo derivative, and primarily on numerical methods for solving these equations. Numerical methods play a crucial role for this type of equations, as only a small fraction have known analytical solutions, requiring dependence on numerical solutions. This thesis will cover the following numerical methods: explicit and implicit Euler methods, and the predictor-corrector method. The objective is to implement selected methods in MATLAB and test them on several initial problems.
