- Abstract
The purpose of this quantitative descriptive study was to examine the descriptions of school administrators, teachers, and staff toward accommodations for students with Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in a high school in Houston, Texas. The differences among school administrators, teachers, and the staff were based on gender, age, ethnicity, previous teaching experience of students with ADHD, having a relative or family member with ADHD, academic roles, and academic disciplines. The survey title is "Perspectives of School Administrators, Teachers, and Staff Toward Accommodations for Students with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)." A sample frame of 32 male and female participants completed the online questionnaire during the spring academic semester of 2020. Survey results indicated the descriptions of the participants toward accommodations to students with ADHD did not relate to their gender, having a relative or family member with ADHD, academic role, or academic discipline. There was also no association among the participants' descriptions toward accommodations and their assumptions of professional development provided at their school. However, the participant's descriptions overall were positive toward accommodations for students with ADHD.
