Lightweight offshore construction concepts have the potential to save costs, as expenses for logistics as one of the main cost element are minimized. In order to build lightweight structures with concrete, novel construction concepts have to be developed to substitute traditional heavy building techniques. These construction concepts not only lead to form-optimized constructions, but also to new combinations in the material choice in the sense of "material follows force". In addition to favorable production conditions, uniting both of these principles forms the core idea of the UHPC-steel hybrid tube concept. The focus of this proceeding lies in load bearing mechanisms of UHPCsteel hybrid tube structures. In particular, the proceeding will address the bearing behavior of eccentrically loaded hybrid tube components as one of the characteristic load situation for components of offshore jackettype support structures.
