Voluntary commitment of citizens is an indispensable, supporting pillar of critical infrastructures (CRITIS) such as disaster management, rescue, health and social services or food supply. Sustainability of the voluntary sector, however, is massively endangered by profound changes in demography, social structure and volunteer motivesin the sense of individualization and pluralization of society. This paper tackles these key challenges by proposing a digital platform for goal-driven and competence-based networking and bundling of volunteer engagement across NPOs. This platform is intended to be a first step in synergistically aligning the partly collaborative goals and competencies of volunteers with activity requirements for strengthening CRITIS. This paper presents a mobile data collection method using a 360° camera developed in an ongoing qualitative doctoral research project. The method captures audio, participant action and the running environment visuals of a situation in an immersive way compared to traditional audio‐video capture. The method contributes towards an understanding of information types, use and value amongst those who run. ABSTRACT To understand information behavior associated with self-tracking and to facilitate exploration of various issues associated with quantified-self data, such as data quality and data sharing, to name a few, we logged the data in self-tracking health and wellness apps. Specifically, we selected 10 of the most popular health and wellness self-tracking apps for both iOS and Android platforms, used these apps for a period of time, and logged data input into, generated by and exported out of the apps. Aging causes physical and cognitive changes that influence how we interact with the world around us. As personal data becomes increasingly available from a variety of sources, older adults can use this information to better understand these changes and adapt. Our project explores information visualization as a tool to help older adults interpret and understand their own personal data. To test this concept, we created visualizations of user's pointer performance metrics to help demystify problems in real-world mouse use. In a user study conducted with older adults with a range of computing experience, we learned that visualizations such as these can be a highly engaging information medium for this population.
