Nowadays nylon tubes was used on liquid and suction lines especially on moveable Standing Floor, Split Unit Air Conditioner and another Refrigeration Units. In this paper, an experimental study was carried out to know the effect of atmospheric temperature on the performance of Brine Cooling Unit using nylon tubes on liquid and suction lines. The atmospheric temperatures were 220C; 24,50C and 270C. The Brine Cooling Unit has a capacity of 1 HP and 10.000 Btuh cooling capacity, using R22, Propylene Glycol and capillary tube. The Nylon tubes was used in 3/8 inch suction line and in ¼ inch liquid line, equipped with fittings that were hydraulically pressed. The product was 300 cc of soy milk. The temperature of 30 liter brine was designed on – 60C and the soy milk on 40C. Thermostat was installed dipping into the brine. The internal dimension of the insulated brine tank was L32cm x W32cm x H42cm. The parameter data which were collected are: suction and discharge pressure, inlet evaporator and inlet expansion device temperature, suction and discharge temperature, brine temperature, outlet condenser temperature, product temperature, atmospheric temperature, current, voltage, cosφ. The result was that discharge and suction pressure and temperature, evaporator inlet temperature, brine chilling time, electrical current increases when the atmospheric temperature increases. But the COP decreases when the atmospheric temperature increases. So increase of the atmospheric temperature will increase the discharge and suction pressure and temperature, brine chilling time, electrical current and decrease the COP. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
