In 2020-2021, we studied the effect of agrotechnical practices on the infestation of sunflower by pathogens on the hybridization plot and F1 progeny of hybrid Fakel in the farm "Berezanskoye" in Korenovsky district, the Krasnodar region. In 2020, we studied the effect of agrotechnical practices (described in the methodology) on the level of formation of healthy seed material on the hybridization plot: we determined the sowing qualities and the affection of F1 seeds by diseases in the laboratory. In 2021, we studied field germination and disease prevalence on hybrid plants, grown with the seeding rate of 60 and 80 thousand pcs/ha. The purpose of the research is to identify agrotechnical, chemical, and biological methods that can increase plant resistance to diseases and inhibit their development in the production of seeds and sunflower seeds grown at different rates of seeding. High indicators of laboratory (91-97%) and field (81-87%) germination of seeds were obtained in all the variants of the experiment. The seeding rate of 80 thousand pcs/ha of hybrid, compared with 60 thousand pcs/ha, increases the prevalence of charcoal rot by 5-10% and downy mildew by 3-7%. A complex of fertilizers and chemical plant protection in the hybridization plot reduces the prevalence of charcoal rot by 4-6%, Fusarium root rot by 2% in sunflower hybrid sowings. The purpose of this work was to establish a broomrape-tolerant sunflower population with resistance to race G. We selected the broomrape-resistant forms for further breeding for productivity on naturally and artificially infectious backgrounds under field conditions, as well as in greenhouses and climatic chambers of phytotron of V.S. Pustovoit All-Russian Research Institute of Oil Crops (VNIIMK). The RG (Or7) line was used as a donor of resistance gene when developing a population of confectionery sunflower resistant directly to race G of broomrape. The recipient was a confectionery sunflower variety SPK Plus. Using hybridization, reciprocal crosses, and group interpollination with a harsh infectious background, we developed a sunflower population resistant to the virulent broomrape race for breeding confectionery sunflower varieties.
