This study describes the dramatization of the COVID19 vaccination news broadcast on television in Indonesia. This research has a constructivist paradigm and an interpretive approach with a qualitative descriptive method. The research object is to broadcast the news about the COVID 19 vaccination on the Kompas Petang program on Kompas TV and Metro Hari Ini (MHI) on Metro TV from January - 28 to January 2021. Metro TV and Kompas TV were chosen as research objects because, as news TVs, they are ideologically different. Kompas TV is independent because it is not affiliated with a political party, while Metro TV is pro-government because its owner is the General Chair of the National Democratic Party (Nasdem), a government supporter. W. Lance Bennett's dramatized news theory and John Langer's concept of tabloid television was used to answer the research questions. The study found the following forms of dramatization of COVID-19 vaccination reporting: highlighting conflicts in the news of COVID-19 vaccination; displaying dramatic images to evoke the emotions of the audience; use of Natural Sound and back sound that are dramatic and suspenseful; news headlines that give the impression of frightening the audience; make artists and politicians as news and trivialization of COVID-19 vaccination news. The recent advancements under the umbrella of artificial intelligence (AI) open opportunities to tackle complex problems related to image analysis. Recently, the proliferation of COVID-19 brought multiple challenges to medical practitioners, such as precise analysis and classification of COVID-19 cases. Deep learning (DL) and transfer learning (TL) techniques appear to be attractive solutions. To provide the precise classification of COVID-19 cases, this article presents a customized Deep Convolutional Neural Network (DCNN) and pre-trained TL model approach. Our pipeline accommodated several popular pre-trained TL models, namely DenseNet121, ResNet50, InceptionV3, EfficientNetB0, and VGG16, to classify COVID-19 positive and negative cases. We evaluated and compared the performance of these models with a wide range of measures, including accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score for classifying COVID-19 cases based on chest X-rays. The results demonstrate that our customized DCNN model performed well with randomly assigned weights, achieving 98.5% recall and 97.0% accuracy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In the unprecedented circumstances following the pandemic from March 2020 onwards, novel challenges appeared regarding both the effective Schools leadership and management and the accomplishment of pedagogical and learning objectives from distance. This new reality pushed for the adoption of innovative practices but at the same time uncovered underlying weaknesses. The teachers' role, students' and parents' presence in the digital context environment has been redefined at the Experimental School of the University of Thessaloniki (PSPTh), Greece. Under the School's coordination and the teachers' collaboration, the school community members had to work together to (co)design the eschool's virtual framework in the best possible manner. Distributed leadership supported overcoming obstacles, giving school members a sense of belonging to a community that was left with no option. Pre-existing relationships and strategies related to blended learning at school, helped in building the distance (for a long period) of emotional connection and laid new foundations. The authors explored the factors that shaped the transition from the face-to-face School to the Virtual School community taking into consideration school staff's and students' expectations, intentions and strengths and weaknesses as well. They based on an empirical research with observation and data collection, both from the school principal's diary as well as other quantitative and qualitative data, they have recorded the transition from f2f-education to blended learning (BL) with synchronous and asynchronous distance education. Moreover, they identified the need to overcome the new obstacles. The effective use of ICT, the level of familiarity with web-based platforms, the adoption of participatory processes and exploitation of collaborative e-tools for communication, training, studying, and teaching and learning with the continuous training, were the crucial points that shaped the new educational reality. A well-organized strategy emerged as a prerequisite for achieving the goals of the administrative, organizational and educational coordination and leading of schools from distance. The purpose of this work was to analyze and evaluate consumer behavior in the conditions of the coronavirus pandemic. The main non-price determinants of supply and demand are considered. The hypothesis has been formulated and proved that the Covid19 pandemic has become a new non-price factor in modern conditions, having a double impact - an impact on both demand and supply of goods and services. The results demonstrated that the e-commerce has been increased significantly during the pandemic for consumers. Each order has an individual box, product packaging, and delivery route. Waste and environmental impacts of these low-volume online orders, which surged during the coronavirus pandemic, add up in comparison to the high-volume retail supply chain. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: The pandemic that affected the world since early 2019 had a relevant impact on the personal and professional life of the population (Settersten et al., 2020 & LópezFernandez, 2020). Indeed, according to authors Hall et al., 2011 & Ajzen, 2015, individuals' consumption habits go hand in hand with changing routines. With the pandemic, telecommuting and the need for isolation emerged, which made consumers more demanding and concerned about hygienic issues (Meyer et al, 2019). Having this said, the aim of the present study involves analysing and comparing the consumption habits of consumers at two distinct moments: before and during the pandemic situation. Thus, the goal is to study consumer behaviour, as well as the factors that most influenced consumption habits at the moments under analysis. Methodology: Allied to the main objective, the conduct of this study adopted a quantitative methodology. The adoption of this research methodology provided solutions, since it is possible to generalise the results (Rahman, 2016, Queiros et al., 2017 & Choy, 2014). Indeed, through a questionnaire made available on the social network Facebook at october 2020, 237 valid answers were collected. After collecting and validating the responses, the data were extracted into the statistical software GNU PSPP, then applying several statistical tests that allowed analysing the demanding contrast between the responses (Sto-Tomas et al., 2019 & Nunes et al., 2015). Results: In order to verify changes in consumer habits, two distinct moments were addressed - before and during the pandemic. After the analysis of consumer behaviour in the two previously mentioned moments, it is concluded that the Covid19 pandemic has changed consumption habits. It was possible to reach these results by addressing 7 variables: innovation, income, price level, new trends, advertising, socio-cultural variable and personal variable. Finally, of the variables considered, it was found that income, innovation, new trends and advertising were the factors that most influenced and changed consumer behaviour. Research limitations: Although the theoretical and practical contributions of this study are relevant to the academic world, there are adjacent limitations. In this sense, the sample size is not very large and the collection of responses is mostly in Northern Portugal. In addition to these aspects, the fact that it covers only one social network ends up restricting certain population niches. It is, therefore, necessary to expand the sample collected, as well as the means of data collection. Originality: Although consumer behaviour is a complex and constantly changing field (Sharabati et al., 2014), this study allowed assess to which behavioural variables were most evident before and during the pandemic situation. Studies that address these two moments simultaneously are scarce. Some suggestions were also left for companies and policymakers that can be adopted in pandemic situations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

COVID-19 is a health crisis of incalculable proportions and never comparable, so it will, according to forecasts, be responsible for the most serious global economic crisis in recent decades (IMF, 2020). Projections state that economies that are more dependent on tourism will be more susceptible to escalating unemployment (OECD, 2020). Tourism is the set of lawful activities developed by visitors due to their travels, the attractions and the means that originate them, the facilities created to satisfy their needs and the phenomena and relationships resulting from both (Cunha, 2010). We conduct a systematic literature review using an integrative synthesis of published peer-reviewed literature on tourism and leadership. Our search in web of science databases identified 122 publications on this topic of several research areas. Our review of these articles addresses the following 2 questions: (1) What kind of studies have been developed on the topic? (2) What is the possible relationship between the literature review about tourism and COVID-19? (3) what are the most used words in studies that address the impact or effect of covid-19? To answer these questions, we use a systematic literature review with bibliometric methods of co-word analysis. We conclude that relationship between tourism and COVID-19 seems to be on the research agenda, particularly, studies about the impact of COVID-19 on tourism activities. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In the conditions of the new reality imposed by COVID19, certain organizational problems of online teaching are noted worldwide. These problems can be classified into two main categories. The first category includes ICT support of the online educational processes, such as internet grants and appropriate hardware and software, for general and individual usage. The second category includes the creation of digital identities through a special category of smart cards, known as digital ID cards or e-ID cards. Starting with an overview of the different types of smart cards, this paper explores the potentials of applying e-ID cards to students in educational processes and beyond. Different stages of development and implementation are considered, such as linking the personal data included in the student еID cards with management systems and the Internet with everything As an integral part of this paper, a questionnaire was made about the opinions of students, regarding the possibilities and areas of using student e-ID. The past decade has witnessed rapid advancement in the field of technologically-supported learning environments, as well as a trend of applying technologies in formal education. Accordingly, the introduction of various forms of e-learning is becoming a reality at many universities. The development of online education offers a wide range of different teaching and learning alternatives that move the process of education beyond the traditional classroom. Instead of traditional vis-a-vis instruction, students can hear lectures online, i.e. through information technologies. This research aimed to examine students´ attitudes regarding the impact of online teaching on academic achievement. The research included 204 students whose attitudes were analysed in relation to their sex, year of study, year of birth, study programme and average grade during their studies. In order to examine students´ attitudes, the research resorted to the five-point Likert assessment scale. Research results showed that respondents believe that online teaching had a positive impact on their academic achievement. However, when it comes to the comparison between the quality of online learning and traditional classroom instruction, research data show that students still lack a clearly defined attitude. Students point out the development of their digital competencies as a positive effect of online teaching during the Covid19 pandemic, as well as more effective management of time and activities during the day. When it comes to independent variables, the research established that sex, year of study, study programme and average grade do not have a statistically significant impact on students´ attitudes towards academic achievements as a result of online teaching. Supply chain management is in the industrial engineering management and operations management disciplines. It involves product procurement of raw materials, production, storage, distribution, wholesales, and retail sales. The COVID19 pandemic has the added challenge of healthcare service operations management. This paper is a bibliometric study of the COVID19 supply chain fragility problem. In February 2021, the United States’ President called for a review of the pandemic related supply chain for vaccines, personal protective equipment (PPE), medical equipment such as ventilators, and food. This study involves a search for references published between January 1, 2020 and April 30, 2021. It reveals that food was a primary topic among 82 publications rather than vaccines. Also, reasons cited for America’s supply chain fragility include America’s dependence on products produced in other countries such as China; these countries’ own pandemic induced supply chain challenges; and US trade restrictions on such products enacted prior to the COVID19 outbreak. Engineering management strategies were mentioned in 60% of the publications and are summarized in the Conclusions and Implications for Managers are provided. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Social media polarization is an uncertain risk to any business, and mitigating this becomes challenging for organizations. In this work, we investigate the formation of opinion polarization on social media by using Natural Language Processing during COVID 19 pandemic. The wheel of emotions theory is used to quantify the opinions with the help of eight basic emotions. Topic modeling of those opinions indicates the issues discussed by the crowd over social media. The opinions are clustered on the basis of the emotion-based similarity measure. The existence of topics in exactly opposite emotion clusters indicates opinion polarization over a particular issue. The strength of polarization has been identified using the emotional intensity of the topic. This study proposes a mechanism to identify opinion polarization in social media and gives a cue to business professionals indicating a significant potential future risk that might need necessary mitigation measures. Covid19 is spreading across the globe. This pandemic affects almost all sectors of activities. It has created disruptions in production chains around the world, which have gone as far as stopping production in certain domains and double capacities in the others. Covid19 created a surge demand of health care equipment that oblige flexible companies to switch their ordinary production lines to produce items related to this pandemic. The aim of our work is to study how technologies offered by the fourth industrial revolution (Industry 4.0) could help to overcome this crisis. Also, to analyze the impact of adopting lean management principles, more specifically the just in time (JIT) principle. For this objective, we conducted a rapid review on the existing publications in literature using the key words covid19, lean management and industry 4.0. Results show that emerging technologies have a big potential to help on combatting this epidemic. Moreover, companies have to minimize the risk of shortage of stock by overusing the JIT lean principle. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper considers Covid19 virus an actant on the basis of actornetwork theory. As an actant, it creates a controversy translated by other actants toward social and economic spheres. This network is shaping a new reality driven by innovation dealing with current opportunities raised by government policies against covid19. Innovations are already framing themselves in the new reality by addressing and solving current issues. Nevertheless, a vision targeting opportunities for the Post-covid19 era is initiated. Digital technology by taking over all the controversies draw the path toward an innovation stream still to come. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The COVID-19 pandemic had a disruptive effect over all areas of our lives, including the education system and so, all universities had to rapidly shift from face-to-face teaching to online learning using online solutions and virtual platforms. However, what was first seen as a temporary solution for an extraordinary situation starts to look more and more as a medium term general rule and so more research is needed in order to better understand student's perception regarding online learning systems use and the factors influencing their intentions to use online systems. The present study was conducted between April and May 2020, through an online survey among 206 university students from Romania, both undergraduate and graduate and aimed at identifying students' perceptions regarding the use of the online learning systems provided by their universities. The results of the study can also provide higher education institutions insight and information on how to manage the shift from face-to-face teaching to online learning by taking into consideration student's expectations. Previous research showed that the online learning concept and activities were used to some extent by most Romanian universities even before the Covid19 pandemic, but mainly for online presentation of learning materials and short online tests (Traistaru & Cotoc, 2013; Grabara & Bosun, 2014). Forced by this new context, universities rapidly adjusted either by accessing third party platforms, such as Microsoft Teams, Google Classroom or Zoom or by using their in house Learning Managements Systems on Moodle or Blackboard to move all their classes online. The present research revealed that although approximately 70% of the students questioned did not have any prior extensive experience in web-based learning, the majority of the sampled students supported the initiative, stating that the online learning platforms provided by the university enables them to accomplish their tasks quicker and also improving to some extent the quality of their work, while also having fun studying. The study also revealed that the students have adequate knowledge of the COVID-19 pandemic and they are responsible with respecting the protective measurements imposed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Since the first case of COVID 19 - Coronavirus was identified in December 2019 in Wuhan, CHINA, despite warnings, very few people in Kosovo have thought that this virus will be pandemic level and will have an impact on the daily life of the inhabitants, the well-being of each family, economic development and the environment. Like many countries in the world, Kosovo was in an unenviable situation to deal with the COVID 19 - Coronavirus. With a fragile health system and insufficient professional services, after identifying the first case of COVID 19 - Coronavirus infection in Kosovo and taking measures to deal with the pandemic virus; the lives of the people of Kosovo have changed radically. Despite dealing with the pandemic, unstable politics in Kosovo made the situation even more difficult. This research presents the assessment of the use of open public spaces before and during the COVID 19 - Coronavirus pandemic as well as the impact on the environment. The period during the pandemic is divided into two phases: the rigorous phase and the mitigation phase to prevent the spread of the virus. Many participants of different genders, ages, professions answered the questionnaire for the two phases of the pandemic by providing data which would help many municipalities to think in the future about the serious treatment of public spaces and the protection of the environment. NON-communicable diseases ,EARLY death ,TELEMEDICINE ,MEDICAL care ,DIABETES - Abstract
Background: More than half of the world's population deals with noncommunicable diseases causing premature death. Leveraging digital solutions like telemedicine, health care providers (HCPs) can provide medical care remotely. Yet, there is little known about the contextual challenges and opportunities of leveraging telemedicine solutions in varying socioeconomic and cultural contexts, including Kuwait. Objective: The aims of this paper were as follows: (1) uncover the challenges and opportunities of adopting and using telemedicine for diabetes care and management from the viewpoints of HCPs and patients with diabetes; (2) explore nonfunctional requirements for telemedicine applications for diabetes care and management; and (3) offer recommendations to improve the adoption of telemedicine in Kuwait's health care system for diabetes care and management. Methods: Through semistructured interviews, this study employed a qualitative and exploratory design to uncover rich context-specific findings. Participants were recruited via social media platforms. The analysis followed a thematic analysis approach and used the framework method. Researchers used the "diffusion of innovation" model as a lens to guide the analysis and interpretation of the results. Results: A total of 20 interviews were conducted--10 (50%) HCPs and 10 (50%) patients with diabetes. The participants were familiar with and interested in adopting telemedicine. Challenges included a lack of telemedicine infrastructure and how to increase patients' technology awareness. Patients with diabetes mentioned that telemedicine would save time and effort. The participants suggested developing a secure, user-friendly telemedicine solution. They stated the importance of telemedicine during the pandemic, as many diabetes cases can be followed up online, which reduces virus spread and increases patients' safety. Conclusions: The findings from this study can give a better understanding of what HCPs and patients with diabetes need to accept the adoption of telemedicine in resource-rich countries like Kuwait. The COVID-19 pandemic impacted the ways HCPs deliver medical care to patients and encouraged both HCPs and patients to explore the digital platform for continuous care and management of diabetes.
