This research focused on the language mastering of mentally retarded student in terms of the speaking skill at SLBN 1 Jombang. This research problem was formulated how the speaking skill could be mastered by third grade mentally retarded student at SLBN 1 Jombang. Speaking skill means a skill taught to students to be able to speak well in reciting each letter in alphabet, each consonant, then each word, and how to pronounce them correctly. It aimed that student has no difficulty to pronunce the articulation by using manipulative media to facilitate students’ understanding in speaking as well as analyzing the speaking skill of mentally retarded student. It was conducted to facilitate the teaching learning process in the classroom, to communicate in the community and to introduce how mentally retarded students pronounce letters and words. The researchers chose one research subject from one of the mentally retarded students, Aisyah. The method employed in this research was descriptive qualitative method because they tried to describe the pronounced words, mimicked words for speaking skills by introducing the letters while interviewing the subject. The results showed that the learning outcomes of Aisyah had good development. It was prooved by Aisyah’s better performance seen from Aisyah’s learning book note, Cindi’s learning in speaking. this paper presents a brief methodology for determination of relevant parameters for automatic articulation regularity quantification of Serbian fricatives pronunciation. Using the known methods and algorithms as well as developing new ones for analysis of phoneme pronunciation process, authors used neural networks as a tool for modeling. Acoustic and Articulatory features of Japanese vowels were examined in “Neutral”, “Angry”, and “Sad” speech, using NDI Wave System. The results suggest that (1) Significant differences of the acoustic space, measured by F1 and F2, exist among different emotions. “Angry” is characterized by a horizontally compressed acoustic space, while “Sad” is characterized by a vertically compressed acoustic space. (2) The “front raising” and “retraction and back raising” patterns of the tongue movement mechanism can be enhanced by “Angry” and “Sad” emotion. (3) The lips' dynamically protruding feature is shared by both “Angry” and “Sad”, apart from the exception [A]. We suggested that the exception is caused by the increase of the mouth opening. The mouth opening and the degree of lip protrusion are a pair of complementary features. In this paper Induction Motor and its Application with Sensorless Control in Auto Levelling of Heavy Load Articulation Platform is presented. In many strategic applications the platform used for articulation of articles is to be levelled accurately with respect to ground. For this purpose four outriggers are used to position the four corners of the rigid platform at the same level in specified time with defined accuracy. Outriggers use servo drives consisting of Electric Motor, gears and feedback systems. Induction motors are used in outriggers if low cost is a primary concern and low speed motor is not a requirement. Also the motor load is not expected to change rapidly. To meet these requirements, it is preferred to use Induction motor with a sensorless control. The investigation addresses the discourse on James Earl "Jimmy" Carter, Jr. in two US news magazines - Time and Newsweek - from 2002 to 2009. Long after his one-term administration ended in 1981, Carter continues to prompt news coverage due to his ongoing global activism (via, e.g., The Carter Center, book writing). Despite acclaim for Carter's post-presidential career that includes a Nobel Peace Prize in 2002, he mobilizes a raft of incongruous meanings. While Carter's post-presidential activism has generally - but by no means monolithically - been praised, his presidency is generally assumed to have been a debacle that prompted the advent of "muscular" Reaganism. The investigation unfolds by elaborating the methods that inform it; namely, the theories of articulation (and, equivalently, linkages) and personalization as these play out in news discourse on Carter. Along with Time and Newsweek's broad tendencies toward concision over deep context, the investigation addresses coverage of Carter with regard to his interventions in the Middle East and the comparisons and contrasts that link and de-link his from other recent administrations. This paper investigates the process of the transformation of blogs from online "filters" into a "format" for sharing content on the Web. This study draws on a mixed-methods research design and combines scholarship in STS and communication studies. The article analyzes how different communities of users created three types of websites at the end of the 1990s: online diaries, personal publishing journals, and weblogs. The paper explores next three dynamics involved in the process of technological stabilization of weblogs as a format. First, users appropriated weblogs by expanding its original content. Second, a software program (Blogger) helped the weblog stabilize as a website suitable for the purposes of these communities. Third, as the creation of templates standardized blogs, software developers and users worked to redefine them as the Web's "native format." This paper explores the role mobile technologies can play in supporting students' transition to second and third year of university degree study along articulation routes from Higher National Certificate (HNC) and Higher National Diploma (HND) study at college. Articulating students face particular challenges associated with, typically, adjusting to a step up in the level of their academic studies, acclimatising to an unfamiliar academic culture, and integrating into an existing cohort of students. 'Message of Support', a project funded by the Edinburgh, Lothians, Fife and Borders Regional Articulation Hub (ELRAH), developed a range of SMS, podcasts, and DVD resources, drawing on the voice and experience of existing students, in order to support new students and staff in their respective parts in the articulation journey. Through a process of action research, it was found such resources can aid the transition process by offering timely reassurance and information to students as well as valuable development materials for staff. In this paper Electromechanical Simulator for Weapon System Launching Platform is presented. A weapon system launching platform requires freedom of movement in seven axes. It has to move in four axes for levelling, vertical and horizontal axes for articulating the launching platform and up and down sliding of the launching structure or weapon article. All these movements are simulated using Electromechanical Servo Drive in a Simulator for training and experimental study purposes of the personnel involved in development and handling of weapons system launching platform. Electromechanical servo drive requires position feedback, velocity feedback and current feedback to move a system in desired direction in specified time following predefined motion profile. In this paper, Launcher Simulator with Electromechanical servo drive system is discussed. How has Community Wireless Networking (CWN) contributed to a new kind of politicization of communication technology? How has grassroots experimentation with commercial WiFi technology expanded into a mobilization with social and political goals? This paper proposes an evaluative framework for CWN drawing from constructivist studies of science and technology that examine the articulations created between technology and policy. Drawing from empirical research conducted at meetings of CWN actors between 2004 and 2007, it describes the tensions created between oppositional perspectives of WiFi networks as disruptive networks and as ubiquitous networks. Under what circumstances is it possible or “desirable” to mark a set of production practices, audience, and programmes in ethnic terms – and leave other sets unmarked? Based on fieldwork done on the making of a minority language television channel in Singapore, the paper demonstrates how the ethnic label may be conceptually and politically problematic. The channel in question is targeted at the Singapore Malay, who is demographically, economically and politically marginal. The irony is that the Chinese dominated state is geographically in the heart of a sprawling region some called Alam Melayu or the “Malay World”. The state-owned channel aims to “equip (the Malays) with the attitudes, values and instincts that make them vibrant and proud citizens” (Channel News Asia, 30/1/2000). The ethnography, however, shows how its producers, mostly ethnic Malays themselves, constantly shift between several worlds and modes of identifications: between regional affinities and local pressures; between the demands of the state and the lure of global markets and images; between televising a “unique Singapore Malay culture” and the practical concerns of filling airtime with programmes gleamed from transnational others with “cultural affinities”. This paper looks at the influence that philosopher Gottfried Leibniz played in the thinking of everyday life philosopher Henri Lefebvre. Lefebvre's theory of moments and his conceptions of 'the everyday' draw upon often overlooked (and controversial) elements from Leibniz' monadology (and other later writings). This article presents several conference paper abstracts about organization and management theory. The conference paper entitled "Multiple Logics in the Decision-Making Process," by Sergio Janczak, is a qualitative empirical study that reveals the multiple logics which managers, in undertaking projects, used to influence other employees. This paper seeks to contribute to the literature decision-making process by exploring further the often ignored area of middle management's processes. In addition, as an exploratory approach this paper aims to reveal the factors that influence such processes. The design of this qualitative study includes the identification of a sample of 59 projects undertook by 39 middle managers in 35 complex multidivisional organizations in Canada. The conference paper entitled "The Ecology of Strategic Positioning: Mutualism, Competition, and Inertia," by Stanislav D. Dobrev, Tai-Young Kim, and Glenn R. Carroll develops an ecological theory of the strategic positioning of all firms in an organizational population across its evolution. Drawing on established ecological theories and notions of strategic positioning from the management literature, we contend that processes of mutualism, competition, and inertia shape the propensity of firms to move in the market space.

Stunt girls have been understood traditionally as being part of the rise of sensationalism within newspapers at the end of the nineteenth century. This paper, instead, considers the stunt girl as a subject position involving a set of practices and ways of writing that risk traditional understandings of femininity and journalism. The risks these women took in transgressing these lines turned their public personas into spectacles, while simultaneously rendering them vulnerable to misunderstanding, scolding and scandals. Using articulation and feminist theory, it seeks to redress conventional approaches that devalue women?s contributions by maintaining divisions between ?hard? and ?soft? news forms by considering the ?whole newspaper? as it was understood and used by readers. The stunt girl wowed her readers with her journalistic exploits that traversed the world and spoke to the changing role of women within the public spaces of late Victorian society. She helped to popularize a new set of journalistic principles that survive today, including personal journalism, investigative practices, and an ongoing dialogue about what the concept of ?newsworthiness? meant to women readers. An increasing number of post-secondary business and management programs participate in transfer credit agreements, through which students moving between institutions receive course or program credit for previously completed courses. However, there are limited data on the characteristics of such agreements and how often they are used. This paper uses data from the Canadian province of British Columbia, which has one of the world's most developed transfer credit systems, to explore the characteristics of transfer credit agreements involving business and management courses, and to assess the extent to which these agreements are used. The expected US military draw-downs (reductions in force) combined with a strong GI-Bill will create challenges for engineering programs and colleges nationwide as they work to serve a large influx of veterans who wish to pursue engineering degrees. We have conducted a comparative analysis of Marine Corps engineering training curriculum to determine if military training may be used as a substitute for courses within engineering degrees. SDSU's degree plans are used as a model for ABET-accredited degree program and the Marine Corps training was chosen as the model for generalized military training. The disciplines of civil and construction engineering have the largest amount of relevant training, with possible direct articulation of two courses, Surveying and Project Management. Beyond these two courses, no direct (complete) substitutions were noted, suggesting future analysis might need to consider combinations of military training courses as substitutes for additional technical courses. The Vietnam War still maintains immense cultural significance within American collective memory. Previous studies of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial have largely focused on either individual meaning produced by the memorial or the significance of the structure in recuperating a singular national identity. Rather than seeing these readings as antagonistic, this study suggests that a single rationality confirms that both perspectives are partially correct. Using the Galveston County Vietnam Memorial to establish a basis for comparison, this study suggests that both participate in a larger cultural formation based on what Michel Foucault identifies as pastoral power. This type of formation advances a form of reasoned governance based on the care of each and all in the population.
