The article presents a study that evaluates the communication techniques Written Choice Conversation and Augmented Input to raise interaction between people with global aphasia and their communication partners. The study states that the technique cannot work with persons with aphasia due to the historical impression that reading abilities are too severely impaired. The study infers that people with aphasia accurately understand written choices presented contextually.

The article focuses on the enhancement of the intervention of the augmentative and alternative communication strategies for a man with severe, nonfluent aphasia from the start of his therapy. The result of such intervention urges him to increase his motivation for communication, auditory and reading comprehension and verbal output. It explains that the reason he had been dependent is that he did not have a communication strategy of his own in spite of his comprehension.
