Recent research identifies youth violent victimization as a risk factor for precocious exits from adolescence via early coresidential union formation. It remains unclear, however, whether the first unions formed by youth victims-especially early unions-are (a) associated with continued intimate partner victimization (and/or perpetration), (b) interrupt victim continuity (or victim-offender overlap) through the formation of prosocial bonds, or (c) inconsequential for the adverse effects of youth victimization. We used Add Health data to examine three competing hypotheses of whether the effect of early unions among victims of youth violence increased, mitigated, or were inconsequential for the risk of intimate partner violence-differentiating between victimization only, perpetration only, and mutually combative relationships and considering variations by gender. Estimates from multinomial logistic regression models show that YVV increases the risk of subsequent IPV victimization in first unions, independent of union timing. Although analyses suggested a protective effect of early union timing among youth victims with respect to mutually combative unions, gender-stratified analyses revealed a more nuanced pattern, suggesting that earlier unions for women may protect against IPV perpetration, but this is partly due to an increased risk of IPV victimization. Overall, our findings suggest that being a victim of youth violence has significant transformative consequences, leading to subsequent victimization by coresidential partners, and this association may be exacerbated among female victims who form early unions. Bridging macrosociological life course, place stratification, and social disorganization theories, this study advances a "neighborhood-centered" approach to study a core developmental context in adolescent and young adult behavior. Using four waves of data from the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health (Add Health), latent class analysis, and growth curve modeling, I identify distinct neighborhood types patterned by the intersection of three components of structural inequality-race/ethnicity, socioeconomic class, and geography-and examine (a) how trajectories of adolescent and young adult marijuana use differ across neighborhood types, and (b) the extent to which neighborhoods shape these behaviors directly and indirectly (through theorized individual, family, and peer mediators). Results demonstrate the complexity with which indicators of stratification intersect to shape specific neighborhood contexts, and illustrate significant variation in trajectories of health risk behavior across neighborhood types-variation heretofore unobserved in neighborhoods research, and largely unexplained by theorized mediators. This approach extends neighborhood effects research, highlighting the social structural forces-embodied in the patterning of a finite set of neighborhood types-that anchor trajectories of risk behaviors in adolescence. An extensive body of research has examined the prevalence of sexual assault among college women, although few studies have distinguished between assaults achieved through the use of force and those achieved through incapacitation of the victim due to voluntary or involuntary alcohol and/or drug consumption. It is important to understand differences in the nature of distinct types of sexual assault, in order to better guide prevention efforts and responses to victims. The Campus Sexual Assault (CSA) Study collected self-report data via a web-based survey from a random sample of 5,446 undergraduate women. Data on the context, consequences, and reporting (or non-reporting) of distinct forms of sexual assault are presented. Findings illustrate a high prevalence of acquaintance assaults and substance use prior to the incident(s) by a large proportion of victims. Very few sexual assaults occurred after the women had been given a drug without their consent. The majority of victims of both forced and incapacitated sexual assault reported the incident to a close friend; few reported it to a victim's, crisis or health center, and even fewer reported to law enforcement.
