We performed a prospective study to evaluate iron profile in type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2 DM) in creating of progress disease. This study included 60 person showed healthy and any disease freely as well 90 patients with duration of disease from less than 5 years to more than 16 years. Blood samples was collected to measure serum iron and ferritin and total iron binding capacity(TIBC) in T2DM patients and non-diabetes persons. There was a significant increase in glycemic and iron profile in patients compared with the control group, glycemic value was not affected with the duration of disease, while the increase in the value of iron and ferritin accompanied by the duration of disease. The inhibitors of histone deacetylases are approved for the treatment of different malignancies and have also achieved therapeutic success. However, still due to their low efficiency of treatment, their application in the treatment of chronic tumors is challenging. There are wide applications of nanotechnology in cancer treatment as nanomedicine are presumed to improve the stability of the drug, increasing drug accumulation in tumors and prolonging the half-life of circulation. Nanomedicine, therefore, emerges as a promising strategy for enhancing the therapeutic efficacy of histone deacetylase inhibitors. However, the associated nanotoxicity of nanomaterials used in drug delivery systems eased the success of nanomedicine. We summarized the advances of histone deacetylase inhibitor-based nanomedicines and their therapeutic efficacy with a focus on designing targeted drug delivery systems for histone deacetylase inhibitors. Photoluminescent quantum dots (QDs) have been extensively used in biomedical research for sensing, imaging and disease therapy. In this contribution, we demonstrate the use of bioconjugated cadmium telluride (CdTe) QDs as fluorescent optical probes for targeted in vitro cell imaging. A co-surfactant system of mercaptopropionic acid (MPA) and Cysteine (Cys) mixture were introduced for the synthesis of CdTe QDs in aqueous phase. The QDs as synthesized possess narrow emission profile and the colour is size tunable over the visible range. Multichannel imaging of cancer cells using different QD-conjugates were demonstrated. Specificity of cancer cell labelling was obtained by conjugating the QDs with bio-functional molecules such as folic acid and transferrin. This work suggests that bioconjugated CdTe QDs can be used for high-contrast in vitro cell imaging and cancer cell detection. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]

Two feeding studies with rats and cockerels were conducted to evaluate the role of iron deficiency and overload in the morphofunctional changes in the liver and intestine. Administration of an iron - deficient diet to Wistar-Kyoto rats resulted within 20 days in significantly reduced serum iron concentrations, a hypochromic anemia, and increased intestinal villus height but no pronounced effects on cell proliferation was observed. The iron concentration in the liver of iron - deficient rats was found to increase. At the same time, the most common laboratory tests for the detection of liver injury - serum aminotransferases (ASAT and ALAT) were altered. We considered that moderate iron deficiency results in complex systemic disorders, including hypochromic anemia, duodenum mucosal hyperplasia and hepatocellular injury. Our observations emphasize also the importance of vacuolar compartmentalization in controlling iron fluxes in enterocyte and suggest that TRPV1- dependent iron uptake by subapical vesicles may play an important role in metal ion homeostasis of intestinal epithelium.
